A decent and robust watch

My second GA100 (previous one was the 1A4, red and black). Comfortable on the wrist, with a unique color. Three stars because of two reasons, both related to lighting: lack of legibility in any lighting other than bright, and the terrible front-lit display lighting.1. If you're indoors, you'd better have excellent eyesight if you intend on seeing the LCD display - it's reversed from traditional LCDs, so the characters and numerals are quite difficult to see. Affordable Lifestyle Watch

This G-Shock watch represents good value. The functions in it are all that one requires 99% of the time. It is both functional and can take some hard lifestyles. All black version is stealthy and the coloured options look cool. The included setup manual is very basic, but there is excellent help online for this model. I can fully recommend this G-Shock watch and I dont think you will be disappointed.

G switch is the best , dont have to look for tiny switch in the right corner so auto light can be turned off for battery efficiency. Blue Bezel Watch GA100-1A2

I am happy with this purchase. I read some reviews prior and can add that thje backlighting serves no purpose and the watch is hard to read in low light situations. This is not an issue for me but the design prior to release should resolve these issues. as they add an negative undertone to what is a good product. For me I would give it 5 stars of not for the readability issue.

Comfortable homage

For the price point- an absolute must buy. Dont think they are available anymore. Remaining pieces are selling for three times the original retail. Sure way of testing - original backlights up the entire watch. This is a rep for an unbelievable price. Also, there are better reps available at similar price points- slept on them when available. Hope these pics help, cuz I couldnt find actual pics of detailed reps - especially the straps.

Daylight biased reversed feature windows.

The yellow is pretty much the yellow of Lego. It matches my Jeep. Corvette, Porsche and Ferrari use a similar color. Ford's yellow is a tad more orange. It's dandelion yellow, not banana. I don't get the reviews complaining of a misleading color. It's spot on in the pictures. The watch itself is cool. The speed hand at 12 o'clock is of dubious value but maybe I'm not timing many aircraft, IDK. The reversed information windows are great in the bright sun but of little value in normal inside light. Still, this watch is more style than practical unless you have a specific application. The lighted dial feature will show the time and is pretty nice in total darkness but you won't get anything other than the analog time and a cool looking face with the light feature.

Definately NOT the "Ultimate" Tactical Watch

In fact, had the Red model of this with the red hour hand. It looked really great and people complemented me often on it's looks. However, in a dimly lit x-ray room or late dusk outside, I could see the minute hand clearly but the red hour hand seemed to "disappear" into the dark face due to its dark color, thus telling me it was 10 min to __?__. I sold it but still have the Baby Blue/White of the GA110 version of this and get TONS of complements but will use it when I want looks not function. Also, because the face is so "busy" it is hard to read the time well at a glance without having to study the face. IMHO, the BETTER choice may be the similar shaped model GD110. If not that style, at least pick ANY of the G-Shocks that state in the Specs " •Auto LED Backlight (Super Illuminator)" This completely illuminates the digital fields clearly. No question. My GD100SC-1 Watch - Black/Green face, lights up so bright you can literally read with it- easily (for the 3 seconds it stays on). NO exaggeration. Not the case with the GA110 versions or any iterations that say "Afterglow." One of my favorite versions is the GLX150 series. Super easy to read, has the Super Illuminator backlight, as well as a tide graph/moon phase (neat but neither here nor there) and the buttons are easy to activate. The Mudman watch buttons can be a chore to push and activate (the reason I sold this one), as they are completely sealed so no dirt, grime, or water can get in at all- totally sealed system.These are just my thoughts on a big and lasting investment and hope this helps with your future purchase. Now get out there and have safe fun!

Disappointing watch

I wanted to like this watch, I really did. Unfortunately, I returned it after a few days.The pros: The watch looks good and feels solid. In the right light, is easy to read. The analog portion is easy to read.The cons: The digital part of the watch is incredibly hard to read except under ideal lighting conditions, with light bouncing off at just the right angle.In dim light, the "light" lights up the hands of the watch ok. It does not light up the digital display, at all. Why the digital display doesn't light up is beyond me, but it seems like a poor design decision.Because the digital portion is so difficult to read, using any of the functions of the digital portion is near impossible.

This gshock is one of the toughest,best looking watches iv ever owned. It is a X-Large cased watch which makes it that much more better, and the black on black just really makes this watch pop . Now one thing people do not realize about these military blackout version is that the LED back light is not going to be a super illuminated that's going to light up a room. This watch has an amber led that gives you literally just enough light to see the analog hands of the watch. Which it is less distracting but then again it would be nice to see the face of the watch. Iv seen both good and bad reviews for this watch well before I ever purchased it but as for me I absolutely love it.
