A Classic Timepiece

The watch came in 2.5 days with regular (free) shipping. Any watch collector who has divers in their collection knows and knows this watch. It's a classic timepiece, has good lume, has a clean face, and isn't heavy (for a diver). For $60, you can't beat this watch. The rubber strap isn't the greatest, but you can change out the straps for whatever you want. I have relatively skinny wrists, but this watch fits me perfectly. I saw a couple videos and pictures online that all seemed to make the watch seem bigger than it really is. Of course, this isn't going to have the same quality as a Rolex Submariner or a Helm Komodo, but you undoubtedly get a bang for your buck. Now, if you're new to watches--especially diver watches--YOU MUST LOOSEN THE CROWN BY UNSCREWING IT BEFORE YOU TRY TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS. This isn't a design flaw. All divers have screw on crowns that add to the water resistant rating. 10/10 recommend. Whether you're new to the watch world, or a seasoned collector, this watch will fit your needs.

This is a replacement to the same watch with the exception of the bezel. My original was a red and blue bezel. After less than 2 years, my watch filled in with fog and will not disperse. I called Casio and since they said I did not buy the watch from an authorized Casio dealer, any warranty was void. I bought it on Amazon and it came in the same box this new watch came in (bought from Casio direct) to avoid future BS. It's a very nice watch, I am hoping that this watch which is rated at 200M will not do the same as the first one. The kicker, I have never been diving with this watch.

Good Basic Dive Watch

A good basic "Dive" watch. Mine is the black one, though the Blue and the black with gold trim look good too. The pamphlet that came with it was vague, covering numerous models of watches. I learned from YouTube videos that you must press inwards on the stem to turn it counterclockwise to unscrew it before you can pull out the stem to set the date and time. I suppose this is basic "Dive" watch info, but I'd never owned a Dive watch before. My wrist measures 7 inches around, and the watch fits fine. The strap is a cheaper rubber, so it may break over time, as I've had that with other Casio watches. One disappointment was the luminosity (or lack thereof) on the watch hands and pips. I've seen reviews that said it glows well for a decent amount of time. Some said it would easily glow for 20 minutes, which is enough for his dive time. Another said it glowed most of the evening. Not so with mine. It can sit under a light bulb for a fair amount of time, but the hands glow for only a very short time afterward. And they do not glow brightly at all.

Great Cheap Dive Watch
19 March 2020

I say cheap, because youre getting what you pay for, so caveat emptor. This watch is a stylish timepiece that looks a lot like the Rolex Submariner a few hundred models emulate. The fit and finish are satisfactory, and with the on-board quartz movement should keep time fairly well. A nice watch for most of us Joe Sixpack-types who need a little more rugged timepiece than a $20 Timex, or maybe looks just a little nice. With a metal band, it would look quite dressy! This watch is not a true diver. Many online complain it fogs internally when worn in the shower. I havent torn one apart, but the problem is often a crappy O-ring seal at the rear case and/or improper lube. Poor quality crown seals and crystals can also contribute. At this price point, Im not expecting miracles and will avoid wet time with my copy. Those expecting a great dive watch will need to budget about $300 for a Seiko. If you want a bulletproof diver that keeps precise time, you'll need to be looking at Omega, or Rolex--and not likely even reading reviews of this Casio piece. Bottom line, this watch should do fine for most of us who need a decent timepiece that doesn't look like a hockey puck on your wrist and have to sweat their budgets. If this is you, heres a good choice. They have them at most Walmarts, too! This watch is not a

Great value for money; beware band and dial glass
5 November 2023

I'm always nervous about wearing my more expensive diver watch in public and swimming/diving. This watch for under $80 does everything you could want a diver watch to do, with an excellent 200-meter rating. My only complaint is the glass on the dial scratches and smudges somewhat easily, and the resin band gets uncomfortable after a couple of hours of wear for me. I like to wear the watch tight on my wrist so the dial doesn't roll around underwater, making it more difficult to see. These complaints are not surprising for the price you're paying, but this is an amazing value watch that I still get compliments on. It looks more expensive than it is. Fair warning: the 44 mm is no joke. Don't buy this if you have small wrists because it will look goofy.

Not as nice as Invicta 1953 but more reliable!
27 April 2024

This was a backup watch I purchased when my gifted Invicta Pro Diver 1953 (ref 31290) stopped working after a few months. I’m happy with the Casio. I haven’t measured it but it seems to keep better time than the Invicta and even though it’s wider, it doesn’t feel as tall. The date window is a nice bonus too. If I ever bought this watch again I would not get the metal bracelet - it looks and feels cheap and pulls my arm hair something fierce. Otherwise a very solid, good value watch.

The Bluesy for upper lower working class bloke
19 February 2023

I drooled over a sub mariner then saw a youtube on low end watches with same features. I was afraid to wear a bluesy due to losing. damaging, theft, too loud for friends. After looking at Rolex, I can lose, get bored of it and give/throw away and feel like I got my moneys worth. PROS: feels like a sub. good fit for my 6.75" wrists. love the royal blue color easier to turn bezel than other brands. CONS: Cheap band. The date is hard to read. NO cyclops.

[Rewarded Review] Best Dive Watch under $100!
15 December 2023

The Casio Duro is the best dive watch under $100. It's the watch that Bill Gates famously wears and he can afford any watch on the planet. JC Penney carries this watch in all of its color configurations at the best price on the internet. I also like the fact that I am purchasing this watch from a reputable company like JC Penney and not someone on the web with no history of being in business.

With so many companies producing diver watches is very difficult to find one that can go 200m deep for less than $50.00!!! That alone deserves our attention. But Casio did not stop there, the quartz movement is way better than your regular battery watch, mine keeping accurate time at the rate of less than 10+/- seconds per month. Although some complain about the diver's band, I find it to be appropriate and super comfortable.
