The Castelli Squadra Stretch Woman’s Jacket is designed after the classic windproof and breathable cycling jacket. No waterproofing has been added to resemble the Idra 3 jacket which protects against wind and rain. The Squadra is simpler, but most definitely completely windproof. The coated ripstop nylon blocks wind and since it’s breathable, you won’t overheat. The Squadra pulls out body moisture and body heat to keep a woman cyclist comfortable. At around 100 grams in weight, it is incredibly lightweight. Tightly knit stretch panels and the high collar keep out drafts of wind. No material flaps around in the wind nor does cold air circulate into the jacket. The design creates a perfect fit no matter what position you hold on to the bike. Reflective details on chest and lower back increase visibility when the sun is low or covered by clouds. Easy to fold into a small package and store in your rear jersey pocket, you can slip out of the jacket when the sun rises, and you need less protection against chilly wind.

I bought my jacket a few weeks back and have had only a couple of rides in it. So far it has been excellent in both wind and light rain. No internal moisture after hard riding so very breathable. I’m looking forward to the spring when I can assess its full rain proof credentials.Size wise I am 1.75m and 67kg and I fitted snugly into a large. The jacket is very light so very portable. Like all products you get what you pay for and this is another Castelli product that doesn’t disappoint if you can fork out the price tag.

Great rain jacket does exactly what it says on the tin BUT the sizing is bizarre. I’m a (s) In everything Castelli. There was no way the (s) was ever going to fit, Sigma kindly exchanged it no probs. The (m) size fits just but the arms are a bit in the long side. And there is no give in the fabric of this jacket so don’t try and squeeze into it. For reference I’m a 36” chest.

I am very pleased with this item. I am a fraction under 6ft with 35inch waist and the large size is a perfect fit over summer kit. The sleeves appear long , but work well when stretched out on the bike. The elasticted hem is excellent, holds the jacket down well, and it goes right down at the back. Good quality zip pulls the collar right up around the neck. Cuffs are firmly elasticated. It holds the rain off very well and is exceptionally breathable. I started in rain the other day, and kept the jacket on to stay warm, and did the remaining 50k without sweating up inside, something my old jacket would not have achieved. Folds down into a back pocket; just. Not cheap, but I would say this is value for money. Build quality seems excellent.

Very tight on the waist, long arms, baggy upper back. I so wanted to keep this jacket after its swift delivery but I had to return it.The small is tiny, the medium fits as above. The fabric is nice and the chunky zip is easier than the Gore C5 offering.
Bought this in anticipation of a typical wet Scottish summer. Typically, only used it twice thus far but on both occasions I was impressed. It’s not an instant boil in the bag and is very lightweight. Folds into a jersey pocket fine.I will admit I got a bit sweaty after 15-20km of average effort, but the rain had stopped and it was 16-17c and my purpose was to see how far I could push the technology.Definitely recommend and look forward to putting through its paces come winter. For sizing I got a large, sleeves are longer than average. I take a medium jersey in DHB and Le Col. I’m 6ft and 79kg with 39” chest.Il be able to layer underneath it.
I bought this a month ago and have managed to test drive it many times in torrential rain and it hasn’t disappointed. Rain as expected beads off and it literally can be shaken dry. It is hands down the best rain jacket I now own. From reading other reviews I suspected I would benefit from the elastic panels in the Idro Pro3 for my frame and it works well. The elastic also enables it to form fit around laden jersey pocket. It packs down very small, I have used an old shoe overshoe as a stuff sack which keeps bulk to a minimum. If useful for reference I have a castelli gabba 3 in size XL and it is a very similar fit. I would normally take a size L in other brands. I am 5’10 78 kg.
Whenever you buy something at this price range, there comes a certain level of expectation… and this jacket is definitely primo both in terms of price, and purpose. Insanely light, and thanks to autumn ‘20 deciding to segue straight into autumn ‘21, it has already proven exceptionally useful. Are there other jackets that will do a job, yes and for a lot less… but this is a great piece of kit, that does what’s asked of it, well. So that’s nice.
Packs down very small, easily fitting into a jersey pocket with room to spare. Have not yet experienced a downpour in this but light rain does not get through. Outside fabric is textured so different from most jackets I own. Don’t know if I like that yet. Being shorter At 5’7” I do like the sleeve breaks to roll under the extra fabric. As with all Castelli, size up. Normally wear a Med in Sugoi and this large fits me just right.
Best lightweight waterproof jacket ever! At last a lightweight jacket that states it is waterproof and packs up the size of an orange. It is awesome. Believe me I have purchased many jackets claiming to be waterproof and packable, none living up to the description , until now.. The Idro is in a league of its own. Although I am female and a small one at that 5ft 2 usually a size 10/12 womens general clothing, I know Castelli always run very small. I tend usually to go for mens Castelli medium in jerseys ( as the fit is spot on for me) but as I wanted to wear the Idro also in the winter over a thermal Jacket I opted for a Large. The choice is perfect, some room but not too flappy. Managed to get this in the Sigma sale end of August, though expensive, it is money well ... MoreBest lightweight waterproof jacket ever! First ride was in light snow with the Castelli Perfetto. The Idro is totally breathable and a really good race fit with no flapping that kept me dry and warm. I also like the high quality and chunky zipper, the good sleeve length and longer tail. Minor downside is reaching for food in jersey pockets which can be a little complex given the race fit of the jacket. I chose large as in all Castelli jerseys going one size up. Simply a great jacket for road cycling.
