I bought this as I usually use Petsathome wood pellet litter but found it turned to sawdust after a couple of days. I am a cat breeder so was looking for a long lasting litter that didn't make a mess. I tried it on a couple of my cats but in no time realised it was an expensive mistake. Although I use deep litter trays, as it's so light the cats still managed to get it all over the floor moreso than the sawdust of the wood pellets. You have to use a vacuum cleaner to collect it up as a broom is a waste of time. It doesn't clump very well either. For the price I could have bought nearly four bags of wood pellet litter which although messy is nowhere near as messy as this stuff. AN EXPENSIVE MISTAKE

Horrified at the price? Convinced it's going to be just another "clumping" litter that doesn't clump and needs completely changing every day? Fear not. Just take a deep breath (once you've stepped away from that stinking old litter tray, obviously...) You need to get over your instinctive horror at the cost because - trust me - it works out a heck of a lot cheaper. It genuinely forms proper clumps - you just scoop them out and top the box up a bit. It doesn't smell. It lasts for weeks. You can flush the clumps down the loo. The bits don't get stuck on the cat and dropped all over the house. It's the kitty litter of your dreams. The kitty litter God would use. If they ever stop making this kitty litter, my cat will have to go and live outside. I wouldn't go back to ... MoreHorrified at the price? I have a 15 week old kitten. I originally used the Catsan litter as it was what the seller used but it made him sneeze constantly. Also it's not great using plastic bags (even biodegradable) everytime to dispose of the poo and change the tray. This Organic wood one is so much better! It hides the smell so much better, you only change the whole thing once a month as you just remove the absorbed balls of pee. It's flushable too so no more plastic bags!

This is an excellent product and one I can wholeheartedly recommend! It clumps really quickly, and locks away the awful ammonia urine smell, plus, you can flush the clumps down the toilet as its 100% biodegradable! Overall, this is the best cat litter I have ever used, and I have tried a good many over the years! Having 5 indoor cats means our litter trays are frequently used, and with the old wooden litter, needed to be constantly cleared out, generating a lot of waste, and consequently, very full bin! With the use of this litter, however, it is very quick and easy to clean all 5 trays, plus the bonus is very little waste and a smaller bin bag of litter! if there are any negatives, I would say its the small amount of litter that is left on the floor in front of the ... MoreThis is an excellent product and one I can wholeheartedly recommend! I really wanted to like this litter as it's biodegradable and natural. However the tracking is horrific, the absolute worst I've ever used, this stuff gets EVERYWHERE even with a honeycomb mat. My cats are long haired and it stuck to them terribly. The smell is also awful. I have two trays and two young cats and my entire house smelt like a hamster cage. I don't recommend this litter at all. I've gone back to clumping clay (sivocat or intersand) which is far superior it's little to no tracking and odour. I don't recommend this product at all.
Cat's Best brand name sums up this product accurately; it is THE best kitty litter I have ever come across and great value for money! It alleviates ALL excretion smells quickly & effectively, clumps for easy removal & it's biodegradable & flushable, making it super easy & convenient to maintain, without adding to landfill. The initial outlay may seem expensive, however when used as per manufacturer's instructions, it by far outlasts any other litter I have used, making this product cheaper to use in the long run than other inferior products requiring very frequent total product replacement. There is some mild tracking on surrounding floor after use; easily swept or vacuumed up; which is a minor inconvenience when compared to the sum of benefits of using this ... MoreCat's Best brand name sums up this product accurately; it is THE best kitty litter I have ever come across and great value for money! My kitties used it straight away when I put a thick layer over their usual clay. My sensitive/allergic ragdolls like to dig deep/energetically and unlike with most scented or fine grade clays, don't sneeze when they use this. It forms neat clumps, which rise slightly above the litter, making it easy to scoop out and doesn't break up when lifted out, unless right at the back, when very freshly done. Unlike clay, it seems to stay on the surface layers rather than go to the bottom of the tray when wet, so is easy to keep clean. It's light which makes carrying the bags easier than the same volume of clay, and also the waste is lighter in the wheelie bin after a fortnight (6 indoor cats make a large amount of heavy wet clay in 2 weeks 🙂) THINK its working out about same ... MoreMy kitties used it straight away when I put a thick layer over their usual clay. Only negative is it travels/tracks MUCH MUCH MORE than fine grade clay and gets stuck in carpet fibres so is difficult to brush up with dustpan/brush which i use each time I clean trays (several times a day). After a week it will be halfway round your house, so you shouldn't buy it if you hate hoovering!🙂
Pros- Mostly absorbs urine smells and is recyclable. Cons- Litter gets stuck to paws and goes EVERYWHERE- the floor, the carpet, chairs, bath mat, clean washing, my bed!!!! Basically anywhere our 2 cats go, there is a trail of dirty litter. We vacuum or brush more than 10 to 15 times per day, when working from home. We've tried different styles/depths/designs of litter trays and re-positioned the litter trays, but the litter just gets everywhere. I have to cover my dining chairs with old towels, so I don't sit in litter and I have a dustpan and brush in the bedroom to brush down my bed daily. I only stuck with this litter so long because I bought 4 big bags of it. The attached photos are from the trays being used twice in the morning.
It trails a bit but not too bad. My kitten is ok with it. Odor control is pretty good ( at least for now). Not sure texture is smooth for the cat. Quite small granules. Clumps well if you have a thick layer, I use litter pad underneath sometimes I can see moisture go down to bottom but not always. I cannot see much to stick but it probably will if you have a thin layer. Only things I feel it needs to improve is texture. Feel our cat does not like to touch and bury his eliminations....
I have used 10-15 different litters and all have been far short of what I expect. Whether that's poor tracking, terrible sticky clay clumps or horrible smells. The smells of clay litters is horrendous. We have a covered litter box with flap and carbon filter. We have used fragrance granules and a odour control plug in. With the amount of money I have actually wasted as well as the stress and unpleasant experience, I so wish I had used this particular cat litter from the start. Initially I think the price put me off, and I think I thought a all natural wood/plant product would be rubbish. This gets top marks from me! Bertie's wees and poos clump brilliantly leaving no sticky mess behind. The litter sucks the moisture from the poo, leaving a dry hard poo. Bertie's wees and poos clump brilliantly leaving no sticky mess behind. The litter sucks the moisture from the poo, leaving a dry hard poo. The wee turns into golf ball lumps. The rest of the litter remains dry and best of all non smelly! DISCLAIMER WARNIING- You must not be lazy and seive this at least once a day! I actually go through this litter in the morning and evening and then it remains and brilliant texture, effective litter and with no nasty smells. I've used this now for a week and there honestly is no need to change it yet. Infact I haven't even needed to top it up yet as the only reduction comes from the wee clumps. The poos don't clump the litter, as said the litter hardens the poo for easy removal. Best of all, the wee clumps and poo's are easily and safely flushed down your toilet!! When you factor in the ease, time saved from not changing it every few days and indeed the pleasent smell, it's worth the money definitely! I couldn't speak more highly about this cat litter. The only slight cons to this product is... it tracks slightly. We have a mat that helps. Honestly this is a very small inconvenience as it doesn't track a lot. Secondly, you can get this product cheaper elsewhere. Give this a try and I would put money on it, that you'll stay loyal to this litter.
