If it is topped up regularly, it is basically silent.The only downside is that because the fountain part sits quite far back, it is hard for my smaller cat to reach. She can't reach from the side either because of the shape of the plastic ears on the outside. She has to stand and stretch over the bowl to get to the running water. She still does it and is happy to use it, it doesn't seem to put her off it at all.

I've always wanted to buy a water fountain for my cats so they'd have constant filtered water, it took me some time to look around and I found the Pixi Fountain, i bought it on a whim and it's amazing, it's completely silent, the night light on it is adorable but can be too bright at times, I wish there was a way to perhaps dim the light, but still have it on, but regardless it's amazing!The light also helps see the water level inside, so I just top it up when I see it's gone down a bit, considering it holds 2.5L it would take quite a while for the water to diminish in my household seeing as I only have two cats, I also do keep a seperate bowl with extra water for my cats so they have the choice of which to use, they definitely prefer the fountain and I'm very ... Pros: the cats like it. And it's silent.Cons: Despite carefully filling to exactly 2.5l the red light will NOT stop flashing, which is annoying as I have this sited in my home office and it's distracting. The first time I used it it carried on flashing for about 24 hours then changed to a plain white light. However, when I cleaned and refilled it few days later it started flashing again despite my being very careful to measure the water. I think I'm going to have to take this back for a refund. Another con is that because you can't easily unplug the pump (as is very straightforward with my catmate fountain), cleaning and refilling is messy and damp.So, overall, the cats like it but its flaws outweigh it's good points.

I wanted to love this fountain because it's so much easier to clean than the Whisper Fountain and is still completely silent. However, unlike the Whisper Fountain where the cat drinks the water from the fountain of water itself similar to drinking from a tap, with the Pixi Fountain the water is distributed into the top plate that acts as a shallow bowl, so that cat is basically having to lick the bowl in order to drink, meaning all the food he's just eaten is being transferred from his tongue to the bowl. I'm having to replace the filter and the water weekly in order to keep it clean, which is a time consuming and very expensive. I bought this to replace the Whisper Fountain because it was so annoying to clean, but I think I'll be going back to the old one.

its silent, you can change how the water comes out, easy to clean, a little fiddly with the wire but can unplug the usb part of the cable and take to sink to clean. my cats drink so much more with this dont even use their water bowls now and my cat who keeps getting cystitis uses it too so think hes drinking more water now which is great as i never see him drink! its sturdy too one cat tries to pull it over all the time and it just moves along the carpet never overturns! glad i chose this one my last fountain they barely used and could hear the motor. plus this is a nice height for them. it also has a filter you can replace when its ran out
