At first the chicken in the food looked like it was for human consumption, there were full white meat chunks. After awhile I noticed some cans were full of jelly at the top and some had a very grey tone. They didn't smell bad but the color was off enough I would not give those cans to my cats. I was buying the food in bulk in shrink wrapped flats and after I received a new order I noticed something smelled a bit funky in my pantry. Food for my cat w/ kidney disease

My now 17 year old cat was diagnosed with kidney disease a few months ago. My vet put her on antibiotics (thank goodness my cat loves Pill Pockets) and said if she ate nothing but poultry, low carb, low phosphorus wet food, she'd probably do well for another couple of years. (She's always been a totally indoor cat.) It was a real struggle to get her off dry food, find a wet poultry food fitting that description that she would eat. Chicken Friick A Zee fit the bill but she just licked up the broth and didn't seem able or willing to eat the shreds, which is the form this food comes in. She's supposed to eat an entire can per day, and after about three months, I don't think she's quite there yet. She wants her meals at set times (will wake me up when I want to sleep in!) and if she's not really hungry, or sleeping very soundly, will leave remnants to dry up in her bowl. It's a lot of work to get out the blender every day to do this for her, but I love my cat and want her to live, healthily, as long as possible. The things we do for our babies!

My fussy fur babies eat this one! I pour some of Weruva's Cat's in the Kitchen pouches on top and they lap up every last morsel. I also like it due to the minimal amount of phosphorus in it. It's better for their kidneys.

Great Choice
8 October 2022

I researched wet cat food and read reviews before I switched to Weruva. In the can it looks just like chicken in a gravy. Lots of good moisture. Just wish it wasn't quite so expensive, but they only get it once a day and they're worth it

I really like the quality

I really like the quality of this product. Especially the meat and that there is not the "vegetables" commonly used in canned food. The appearance of the meat (shredded) is very appealing and the food actually smells delicious. My cat likes this food alot.

Like Scallops and Lobster on the New England Coast

A few years ago, I put my Siamese Fabian on a prescription diet because of an episode of crystals in urine. Now I've done research on the subject and chose Frick A Zee as a much better food, much higher in protein, almost no carbs, and phosphorous lower than the prescription food. He LOVES it. He dives into it every meal time with such joy and enthusiasm. And his coat is much softer, he's more active, he feels better I'm sure. The cost at Only Natural is lower than anywhere else. Very grateful for your service.

My picky cat loves this food!
19 June 2021

I have two cats who used to be feral. One is a glutton and will eat almost anything. The other is exceptionally picky, suffers tummy problems that cause him to vomit a lot after he eats, BUT tries his best to east as much as the other cat. This food was a miracle for us because he LOVES it and it sits well in his tummy.

Weruva A Hit With Our Male Cat But "Chicken Frick A Zee" Not So Much
8 September 2021

Our adult cat "Cole" is a pretty finicky eater, preferring only highbrow brands and he's a stickler for texture. We're new to the Weruva brand, having placed our first order just a couple of weeks ago. Although he's really taken to several of the Weruva recipes, he's not a huge fan of "Chicken Frick A Zee". The chicken included in this can is too coarse and stringy for his tastebuds. Where others may like the chewiness of this ingredient, it was a fail for Cole. We'll continue to buy other Weruva recipes with tasty ingredients and textures, with great names like: "Fowl Ball", "Goldie Lox" and his favorite "Splash Dance.

Weruva Chicken Frick A Zee for Cats
27 March 2016

I am in the process of transitioning my cats from vet recommended dry/wet food for weight loss to raw food. After 18 months, my cats GAINED weight with the other diet. After 3 weeks on Weruva, my cats are completely off the dry food and love their new food! No problems with the transition, which was done slowly. My cats were not sick or listless, nor did they refuse the new food at any time. I would highly recommend this product. My cats are both losing weight again (about 1% of their body weight per week) and the price is actually less than I was paying for the other food. It's great!

my cat loves it!
23 November 2021

I am fostering a cat that was being feed only dry food & it was a very cheap, hard food thta he didn't seem to like very much. In researching a healthier food for him, I started seeing things about the importance of also adding a wet food to his diet. I give him Weruva every night @ dinner & he loves it! His coat is shiny & soft & he's even filled out a little bit. I highly recommend this food & so does the cat!
