I am very new to monoculars or binoculars. All I can say is, this is a great pair of binoculars for the price (29). I need a pair of binoculars for my upcoming Alaskan Cruise trip, and these will work just fine.The magnification is great. The housing seems sturdy and well built. I did see some blurring around the outer rims, but for $29, it didnt bother me muchCelestron really knows something about telescopic optics. I made the right choice.Highly recommend these!

Amazing Clarity!!!!

I ordered these binoculars following great experience with some other Celestron Products such as the Skymaster. I knew the equipment would be well made with decent optics. Upon receiving the set, I was absolutely stunned by the clarity provided by this budget-priced binocular for both my bird-watching and star-gazing. I now intend to order a second pair to have one at home and another for my travels. B&H fulfilled my order promptly and efficiently; I will be ordering my second unit from B&H, for sure.

Disappointed

5 for look and feel. 1 for optics. After careful focus, only the center 30 % of view is in focus. The outer edges are fuzzy and unable to be focused. At night the view is greatly filtered, not enough light getting through to see object. My 7x50 let's much light in even at night like natural eye vision and whole field of view is in sharp focus.Bad optics in this unit 20x50mm. May be defective.Returning and obtaining a different model.

GREAT BINOCULARS

I really like this Celestron G2 20x50 more than 10x50. These binoculars are much more lightweight, much easier to focus, clearer lenses; giving me more control and closer vision of the birds I love to follow. I love being able to see the hawks close. I wear glasses and have no problem with these binoculars. Highly recommend.

Great Binoculars Easy to use

Having bought these Binoculars, the Celestron Upclose G2 10 X 50 Binoculars item number 71256 are Great. The are easy to use and when you focus you can see the Moon, the Stars , the Planets, Stars and Star Constellations. I have many Celestron Binoculars but these are my favorite ones that I use more often. When you use these Binoculars you can sit in a chair or stand. Also make sure you have a neck strap attached to the Binoculars. In addition you have to buy a Celestron Cleaning kit to clean the Lenses. I also find that I also own the Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope and the Celestron First Scope but those two Telescopes are hard to use and set up. Great binoculars!

These binoculars work wonderful! The eye pieces are easy to adjust to fit each individual's eyes. The focus is super crisp and the fine focus adjustment works perfectly. The binoculars are heavy, but they are very well made and I do not feel like they are going to fall apart.The binoculars come with covers for all 4 lenses, a lense cleaning cloth, neck strap, and carrying case with a neck strap. I cannot wait to take these out for our astronomy lessons.I also want to say that Home Science Tools is my only place to shop for science paraphernalia! We home school and I teach a high school science class at our co-op, so I purchase quite a bit. Their customer service rocks! That alone is enough for me!!

Great for garden birds

They look good and they feel good in your hand. Small, robust, easy to set up and adjust and quick to focus in and out. I needed a lower magnification than my 10 x 50's for the garden and these do the job perfectly and at a very affordable price. A good, clear, wide angle view. Came very well packed and with lens caps, neck strap, soft case and lens cloth. I couldn't be happier with them.

Just what I was looking for.

Grandkids got into sky watching so I got them binoculars and decided to get one for myself. Does exactly what I needed it to do. Next is to get a tripod mount for it. Viewing the moon is perfect but because of its nature (10x50 ) the viewing of stars and planets is shaky, hence need for tripod mount.

Mine do not stay in focus

Bought these last summer in preparation for viewing solar eclipses and limited night sky viewing. I find the build quality to be rather poor. The diopter adjustment slips and I find myself constantly having to readjust the diopter. Usually one eye is out of focus, even when the diopter is adjusted. I pulled back the rubber sheath and tightened the focus adjuster, which helped considerably. But I find they come out of focus very easily, even with hands free use when mounted on a tripod. I think 20x50 is the ideal compromise for a compact, solar eclipse viewing binocular. But I will be testing out the Vixen SZR 20x50 this week in advance my next eclipse chasing adventure. I tend not to trust a slip on filter, opting always for the security of a fully threaded safe solar viewing filter. I was able to peel back the rubber around the front objective and force a 55-77mm step up ring into place that allowed me to use my set of 77mm solar filters. The fit is tight, and skewed. Would like to thread the plastic barrel, otherwise will likely epoxy the step up ring into place. And since the rubber lens caps never stay on, this will give me a way to secure a better fitting lens cap. Both front and rear lens caps fall off when I place the binos in the included, very cheap, fabric case. Can not recommend these binos. They are not useful hand held (nor are any 20x50 optics), they do not stay in focus and lens caps fall off.

Very Good for the price

Since I left my expensive binoculars in the Republic of Georgia, I needed some reasonable replacements in NZ that had average specs, coated lenses and not too expensive. These are great actually. They work very well so I would recommend these binoculars for the quality and the price. Also they were sent out promptly and I received them within a few days. I am a happy customer.
