I was part of a research panel who tested this prior to being on the market. At first I was a bit confused as all previous serums were silky and transparent. Cerave is a white gel-cream which may also work better for those who experience blemishes from skin care. The packaging is great - its a pump and ideal for travel or in a bag as its leak-proof. The hyaluronic acid keeps my skin hydrated all night and again all day under my makeup. And of course it’s dermatologist developed and recommended. Price is fair too from what Ive seen. Def a repurchase!

I grew up using @cerave_canada @cerave products, and they’ve never let me down, so it wasn’t so surprising that I picked a @cerave_canada product for my 30-day drugstore skincare challenge! Although I do own a lot of @cerave_canada products this Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum is a first for me. I’m honestly not shocked that I fell in love with it from day 1. When I did my first pump of this product, I thought that it would be a clear gel-like consistency like the @firstaidbeauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum (this one is also in my Sephora favourites, love it! Review idea for next time 😂), but I was so wrong! It definitely took me by surprise when the product turned out to be a white gel cream and not like a serum consistency . The benefit of this Hyaluronic Acid Serum is to help restore and strengthen the skin's natural barrier. It is composed of 3 essential ceramides, vitamin B5 concentrated hyaluronic acid and is designed to be used on its own or with other moisturizers. The formula intensely moisturizes dull, dehydrated skin helps improve the appearance of wrinkles. I use this product in the AM PM and I got to say my skin loves it very much! My skin feels very soft and smooth throughout the whole day. My favourite thing about all CeraVe product is that they are all scent-free. Also, from using this product my skin showed no signs of break-outs or any allergic reactions, which are all pluses! I find that it sits beautifully underneath makeup and I find that you can even use this serum as a primer before applying your foundation or tinted moisturizer. In Canadian drug stores it retails for under $20 and on sale days sometimes half that price! Overall, this is an affordable and effective hydrating serum. I really love how the product sits on my face as it provides a delicious boost of hydration to it and does not pill. I have already revisited this product twice since finishing the first bottle. Definitely, a fan favourite!#beautyjunkies #ceraveskincare #cerave #drugstoreskincare #skincarereview #productreview #affordableskincare #lifestyleblogger #365skincare

I absolutely love this serum! I have a skin condition called seborrheic dermatitis and my face tends to have dry, peeling patches. I wash my face with CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser, spray rosewater toner all over my face then I apply this serum while my skin is still wet. I then use CeraVe Moisturizing Cream then finish off with CeraVe Healing Ointment. After adding this serum to my routine, my skin is more hydrated than it has ever been. I love CeraVe products but honestly this serum is my holy grail. My skin condition is kept at bay and I no longer have any dry patches on my face. My only complaint is the price point but honestly, it lasts pretty long (I use 3 pumps of the product twice a day and it lasts a couple months) and it's definitely worth the price ... MoreI absolutely love this serum! After several purchases
26 November 2022

I had tried this product in the past but failed to get on with it. Recently putting together a new skincare routine, for a abused skin barrier, I repurchased. This serum has all the right ingredients in it and was perfect for my routine, one I wouldn’t react to it. The trick is to apply to damp moist skin. I watched a Dr Dray video and she said all hyaluronic acid should be applied to damp skin. So straight after washing my face I slightly towel dried so I’m not dripping, then I applied two pumps all over. Didn’t massage in and let it dry whilst preparing a tea. My skin is so plump after this and the dehydration I was suffering vanished in 2 days.

Brought life back to dull skin!
20 February 2022

I’ve never taken skincare very seriously. I’m 33 now and for most of my life I’ve just used bar soap to wash my face and that’s it (not even moisturiser) However, over the years my skin has obviously become dull, dehydrated and just overall drab. So, I decided to look into starting a good skincare routine, as I’m not getting any younger and I wanted to start treating my face better now before I have to deal with wrinkles too. I did some research, watched YouTube dermatologists and saw good things about the cerave brand: especially the hyaluronic acid serum. I weren’t expecting instant results, barely any results if I’m honest, but after cleansing my face with the cerave hydrating cleanser and using the hyaluronic acid serum the difference was remarkable. I’ve been using it for 3 days and my skin is looking far more hydrated, far less drab and I also seem to have far more colour in my face: it just looks overall more plump and alive now. The one negative I have with this product is that it is a small bottle and while £17 is considered a budget friendly price, I personally still find it quite pricey for the amount you get. However, I did purchase this with the 3 for 2 offer this time and I’m hoping these deals will have returned by the time I run out ;)

CeraVe's lack of transparency
28 July 2021

Five out of the six facial products I use are CeraVe. I've been using this product for about a month now. When I was first looking for an Hyaluronic product, I of course looked to CeraVe first. I was disappointed that I couldn't find the percentage of Hyaluronic Acid on the package or anywhere. I looked under the questions section on Amazon and everyone said that CeraVe doesn't give out proprietary ingredient info. I can understand that, however, I don't think the main ingredient, in this case Hyaluronic acid, to be part of a proprietary blend and inhibits consumers from making informed decisions about what products they are buying. Other companies list the amount of it on their labels....this has left a bad taste in my mouth and now I'm questioning my continued use ... MoreFive out of the six facial products I use are CeraVe. L'Oréal Revitalift has no problem stating their percentage..1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid. I will stop using the CeraVe and purchase the Revitalift, since I know what I'm am purchasing. Maybe CeraVe has a higer concentration, but since I don't know, I'll have to go with what I do know. Sorry CeraVe, bad call on your part on this issue and you most likely lost a long time customer.

How I've counteracted the pilling/balling
18 May 2021

Here's what worked for me. At night, wash face, apply exfoliant/toner. Let that dry down completely. Mist face with water (I use a simple blue glass bottle with a pump spray top--got it off Amazon. Only mist lightly.). Then apply two pumps of the HA serum. Let that dry down thoroughly before adding the night cream. (It seems like using minimal product--just 2 pumps--also helped combat pilling. I like this. It lessened the pilling, and the bottle lasted longer.) YMMV, but letting ALL of the products dry down and settle in, plus lightly misting with water, AND only applying 2 pumps helped me with the pilling. So did using the serum at night vs. daytime. Incredibly hydrating
4 August 2022

This serum is fantastic! It absorbs quickly and very light. I have used it for nearly two months and my face is hydrated, smooth, and my pores seem smaller. A little goes a long way. I have stopped using expensive youth serums because of this product. I use it morning/night on clean skin. In the morning I use a tinted spf moisturizer over it and my make-up applies smooth. I even apply it over my lips which helps hydrate before applying lipstick or gloss! Def try it, you won't regret it!! 🤩

No pilling issue here! Love this!
14 August 2022

No pilling issue for me. Not sure if others are just using this incorrectly or what? Maybe they use too much or layer the wrong products with it. I don’t think this serum is to blame - the other skincare they pair with it is probably incompatible, and causing the pilling. I have SUPER sensitive skin and honestly was afraid to try this, but it feels very soothing, and I also like that it’s a thinker cream consistency rather than a liquidy serum. I layer my facial oil over this and my face feels moisturized and soft all day. Did I say no pilling ? This is my favorite CeraVe product. The other CeraVe moisturizers sting my face, but this one feels good. A week in and no breakouts either. Crossing my fingers and hoping to continue with this!
