My dermatologist recommended this product. If I am out in direct sunlight and wearing dark colors my skin starts itching as soon as I start feeling the heat. When I take a hot shower although it feels great, the minute I get out of the shower I immediately start itching wherever my skin is red. I tried this cream and it stopped the itching within seconds. I only wished I had mentioned my issue earlier. This is a truly an amazing product!! Highly recommended! This actually Exceeds all expectations! Thank You!

I use a lot of Cerave products. So when I came across this I thought I’d try it on myself and my baby because we eczema. His is worse then mine. I’m a little unsure about it. It is a thick consistency but it seems it to take longer to dry and that doesn’t work out to well for a little one. I see him still itching and he didn’t like that wet feel before it dried down. I decided to try it to see if it worked. I was able to let it dry down but I’m not sure if I didn’t use it enough to get the results I was looking for? I definitely gotta try it out longer to see if it actually does work because I love the brand!! And I also need to find something for his itchy eczema, I tried so many things.

Excellent product

I am having a flare up of my psoriasis, using dovonex/ hydrocortisone/Benadryl/sorilux over past 2 weeks, nothing has relieved the hot itchy burning sensation on my neck, I have an appointment with dermatologist on Monday but the itching is driving me nuts, I went to Publix and saw this.Showered, dried off, applied this cream and approximately 5-10 minutes later I have no itching or burning sensation šŸ˜. I am blown away, I’m going to put it In little jars and take it everywhere, thank you CeraVe.

Im trying to find non steriod ways for my eczema
30 November 2022

This instantly stopped the itching. Another big thing I love about the cerave brand is it doesn’t leave a sticky or oily feeling. This is my second time purchasing from this brand the first cream I purchased was the moisturizing cream in blue packaging. Initially it was a blind buy and I didn’t think it would be this good. I was just trying to stock up on random creams for the winter season. This cream specifically is very rich and thick perfect for what I was trying to find. I’ll always continue purchasing cerave from now on

Itch Be Gone

Okay, this actually works! I have an itchy back and always have. And my boyfriend was kinda tired of me asking him to scratch my back. He even got me a back scratcher, but it didn't work. I saw this and I was curious about it. So I bought it. And I thought it was lying when it said instant!!!! I no longer experience an itchy back, because this really does work! You should also invest in this produce too! Cause I no longer itch.

Literally life changing!
13 July 2021

I could not recommend this product enough! I have very dry, itchy, irritated skin that would leave me feeling tingly all over. I tried dozens and dozens of lotions and creams without any relief until trying the cerave itch relief moisturizing cream. My nephew used it for irritated skin from allergies and it did wonders for him, so I gave it a shot and fell in love.I have been consistently using it for well over three years now and the tingling skin goes away almost instantly after lathering up with this. I have jars all around the house so I can reapply when needed. This cream has literally been life changing for me and I cannot speak more highly of it. Please keep this around forever!

Pretty Decent Itch Relief

I am Asian with a family history of allergies, sinus & skin issues. Due to allergies and dry skin, I will often break out in itchy spots - a lot on my hands. When I scratch, it often turns more dry and flaky and the skin will break - which hurts. This cream did a great job initially but the effectiveness seemed to subside a little as I progressively used it. If there is a Dollar Tree near you, I would buy their Vitamin E oil (4 oz). I have found this CeraVe cream coupled with Vitamin E to be a good combo. Another combo is this cream with vaseline/petroleum jelly (my doctor suggested vaseline alone). A 3rd option is this cream combined with hydrocortisone cream (also at Dollar Tree!). For extra itchiness: CeraVe cream + hydrocortisone. I have bought the CeraVe itch relief lotion too which does okay but is not as potent or emollient as the cream (which might be good for the office when you can't have greasy hands while touching everything.) I would still buy this cream again. But the tub is so big, it will last a while.

Repeat Buyer. Good Stuff.

I hate how most lotion feels normally. This lotion is so good. i love how it feels, not greasy at all. It feels like it actually moisturizes and doesn't just sit on top of your skin like i feel most lotions do. My skin is finally looking better and no more itchy ankles or calves. I'm 45 and my skin needs a little more TLC than it did in my 30s. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. But i haven't found anything better.

When you itch but have nothing to scratch...
29 April 2020

I suffer from really sensitive skin but I also have what is known as Formication or nighttime itching. The pharmacist calls it phantom itch. You don't have any rash, bug bites, irritants...you do fine all day but then you go to bed and believe you have bugs attacking you and no, it's not bed bugs...it's a medical condition that effects people at night as body temperature changes and blood vessels react. Thus, it seems more aggressive in the spring/summer.I would lose sleep because the itch would be so bad. So, about 6 months ago my doctor told me to go to Walmart and find a lotion/cream with Pramoxine or Ceramides in it. Thus, it seems more aggressive in the spring/summer.I would lose sleep because the itch would be so bad. So, about 6 months ago my doctor told me to go to Walmart and find a lotion/cream with Pramoxine or Ceramides in it. I know I have a tendency to react to everything so I got the lotion pump and went to the pharmacist and he said CeraVe red (itch relief formula) is a really good product for phantom itch.I believe the Pramoxine Hydrochloride1% is the game changer. Why would I say that? Well, I also have 2 Rx's for itching...1 is Hydroxyzine HCL (that's for normal itching) and then I was prescribed Hydroxyzine Pamoate for the Poison Ivy itch. Seems they all have common ingredients. So, do you buy lotion or cream? Lotion is about $5 cheaper...I currently pay $15 at Walmart for 8 oz lotion pump and $20 for 12 oz tub of cream. Back to doctor's advice years ago for my really dry skin; especially in the winter time. She said, "Go after creams not lotions. Lotions tend to be water-based, thus the lighter, thinner texture. Creams tend to be richer, thicker and will provide deeper emollients." I love CeraVe Itch Relief...if I go to bed at night and wake up with the itchies I just get up and put the lotion or cream on and then I'm good 'til my next itch. I tend to have itching sensation on my upper back, chest and legs...this can sometimes be associated with other medical conditions so always ask your doctor before you try to "treat" yourself. I'm just now getting used to the thicker cream...I feel I may go through it faster than I do the lotion but if I am getting relief then I don't care.Regarding scent...it's hard to describe. Product doesn't say fragrance free. I am also sensitive to strong aromas...this has a mediocre blah scent. It's not my foo foo girly fresh smelling lotions but it isn't repulsive either. I have put on my arms before church and what scent there is just doesn't seem to linger. Sorry I can't explain it better.I would highly recommend this product. And oh yeah, that phantom itch can also be associated with menopause so if your itching has appeared out of nowhere and you are in that stage of life you might want to talk to your doctor, gynecologist, etc about Formication. To all trying to find some relief...many blessings because I know the struggle is real!!The pics are a very satisfied customer and the Poison Ivy. Another plug for taking care of Poison Ivy, use TecNu Poison Ivy

Works pretty good
31 July 2022

I have been trying all kinds of itch lotions. This one works I would say about 85% of the time. I usually Splash a little water on the area that I'm going to put the lotion on, cap dry the area and then add the lotion. They say if your skin is damp the lotion will sink in better. It does stop the itching almost right away but after about 2 hours it might start itching again and then I just apply more lotion. I have tried probably eight different lotions and this one does seem to work the best.
