So everyone knows my favorite sunscreen changes every few years but what does not change is their country of origin. My favorites are always Made In Korea or Japan. Getting into the superiority of Asian SPF deserves an entry all its own but I will just quickly say that the United States is decades behind asian and european countries when it comes to approved ingredients and innovation. Typically finding my favorite Asian sunscreen, this year is all about Purito Unscented, on Amazon is easy and delivery is prompt. Not wearing sunscreen is never an option so when delays happen I always have a fall back U.S sunscreen that I know I can always easily get my hands on. Cerave is a U.S drugstore staple known for making simple but effective products that are recommended by dermatologists everywhere. Their night cream, Cerave PM is my ride or die but I’ve never been a fan of their day cream Cerave AM SPF 30. I found the texture tacky, prone to pilling, and incompatible with any makeup I layered over it . When this new Ultra Light moisturizing cream with SPF was released a few years ago I decided to give it a go in hopes of it being better than CeraVe AM but not So right off the bat I’m gonna keep it real with you this sunscreen is not perfect but I for an American sunscreen I believe the pros outweigh the cons. The texture seems dense when it's pumped out but when it's applied to the face it feels light and blends in nicely with no white cast. It's a bit shiny on first application but after a few minutes it dries down to a semi matte satin finish. Once the Ultra Light SPF 30 dried down I found that it is a great light moisturizer and primer for my makeup that never pills or feels greasy. I’ve tried countless American sunscreens and none can compare to the price point, texture, and performance of the CeraVe Ultra-Light Moisturizing Face Lotion with Sunscreen.

I received a sample of this as part of a “gift with purchase” recently and wasn’t sure what to expect as CeraVe’s products have been hit or miss with me in the past. I also have sensitive combination skin so wasn’t sure if a sunscreen made for normal/oily skin would be suitable. I gave it a try and was actually somewhat blown away because sunscreen always feels gross on my face, but this barely felt like sunscreen… in a good way. I’d call the consistency a milky moisturizer. Despite being ultra-light it’s actually quite hydrating for my skin. And it didn’t cause redness as many chemical sunscreens do. The only thing I wish is that it had a higher spf, but I understand the limitations. I can definitely see myself purchasing the full size!

I highly recommend this product to anyone who has combination to oily skin. It is very lightweight, as the name suggests. It doesn’t make your skin more oily and has an effect of making your skin sort of matte but still have that natural glow or shine - but not in an oily way. It is very moisturizing as well and convenient because of it being both a moisturizer and sunscreen. However, the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because of the small size of the tube/bottle. Since it is recommended to apply sunscreen daily, every few hours, one may have repurchase this more frequently than other similar products that are offered in bigger sizes. I wish it came in a bigger tube. Overall, it is a very great product!

I have tried SO MANY sunscreens over the years, and am always on the hunt for the perfect product. Found it! This is moisturizing but not sticky or greasy. It doesn't sting, even when I use it on my eyelids, because it doesn't travel into my eyes. It's not a sports sunscreen, so it's not mean to hold up to heavy sweat, but it holds up fine when I'm sweating moderately, and, unlike sports sunscreens, it washes off easily with a simple cleanser. I haven't had any problems with it breaking me out. I love the ingredients. It has ceramides, which are effective moisturizers, and none of the usual suspect preservatives. And no oxybenzone, thankfully -- just the other standard sunscreen agents for UVA and UVB blocking. I hope this product never gets discontinued! It's perfect.
Been searching for my go-to daily moisturizer with spf of at least 30 to replace what I used for years and tried many, many products. I love CeraVe moisturizing lotion & cream, and the SA cream, but didn't like the AM face moisturizer with spf, or the night one. Saw this Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion with SPF30 also had no parabens, no fragrance, and matte finish so had to try. AND YES! Found my new daily facial moisturizer with sun protection!!! Goes on easily, absorbs well, no pilling at all (hallelujah!), not overly matte, but I have oily tzone and this is better than many spf products hands down. Plays well with makeup days, but also looks fine for "no makeup" looks. Only drawbacks: Smallish container (1.7oz) so will go through fast, and mid-day my forehead ... MoreBeen searching for my go-to daily moisturizer with spf of at least 30 to replace what I used for years and tried many, many products. And no, no whitecast either since this is a chemical sunscreen, not a physical sunscreen. Thank you Cerave!!
I started using Cerave products back February, starting with the PM facial moisturizer. When I saw/felt the results I decided it would be smart to get the daytime version. After some brief trial and error, I picked this one up. This one is so good, I am so happy with it. At one point I had actually considered multiple products to do the work of one. This eliminated that. The consistency of this one is great. It's very light without being too thin. It moisturizes without feeling sticky or leaving a residue. Also, it doesn't pill when you apply it, like some other daytime products do.The formula and SPF content are great for mature skin.
This product arrived in a beaten-up box placed upside down. Upon opening I found the top to be loose and I had to pump it repeatedly to get a small amount out. I put a little on my neck and then my forehead which immediately turned red and a few minutes later my neck started itching. I washed my neck and forehead and contacted Walmart who immediately through a chat, assured me they would refund the product. I was also told I would not have to return it. Just that day my daughter had stated she despised Walmart, but I love that they truly do take care of their customers. I appreciate all they do to deliver my groceries, ship products I can not get in the store and help me if there is an issue. This product had sunscreen in it, but I was not aware of that as I do not use sunscreen because years ago my eyes burned, and my skin started itching. I just stay out of the sun. Sorry but for sensitive skin, I do not recommend.
I am in my 40's and struggle with relentlessly greasy skin. My skin is nice and matte for about 2 hours after washing it and then it becomes increasingly shiny throughout the day. Needless to say, sunscreen has not been my friend! Most formulations exacerbate the grease factor and make my face look even worse. I have tried over 30 different kinds of facial sunscreen over the years and have purchased luxury brands that cost over $75 and every drugstore brand there is. They all have the same problems: a weird tint, shininess, or that annoying white cast that doesn't sink in). I started using this one about a year ago and threw away the 10 bottles I had in my drawer. I started using this one about a year ago and threw away the 10 bottles I had in my drawer. The first day I used it I noticed my skin was not as shiny as usual and my foundation applied seamlessly over it. I didn't like the smell at all and figured this might be another bottle to go in the trash. However, by late afternoon I could tell I was far less shiny than usual (I would normally need to blot my face 3 times with normal sunscreen use at this point) and my makeup still looked great. I still didn't like the smell but I loved the results. The next morning, I decided to give it another try, even though I thought the smell was off putting, and see if the results were as good as the day before. That day went as well as the first day and the third day I applied the sunscreen and mid way through the day I realized I wasn't smelling the sunscreen smell anymore! Now it's been a year and I am still as in love with this and recommend it to all my friends. I use this every day and the tube lasted me 8 months. I advise friends to give it a chance even if they're turned off by the smell, you won't smell it anymore after a couple of days and it's worth it for how well it wears under makeup. My theory is if something is easy to apply and makes your skin look great you'll use it every day and will help protect yourself from sun damage in the long run. I would not wear this to the beach; you need a thicker formulation with higher spf for that, but for every day this is your holy grail. (BTW, I would love CeraVe to create a second version of this that has a higher spf, I would totally buy it!).
I wish I had read and looked into the ingredients sooner, buy this moisturizer did work well. When a product and brand is described as "Clean" you just trust it. The first ingredient Avobenzene is not a long term effective SPF and requires additional chemicals to help extend protection time which can possibly increase risk of cancer. Homosalate is a potential hormone disrupter which cause a whole slew of issues. And that's just two of the many harmful, unnecessary ingredients Cerave- a company who also makes products for babies- is ok with consumers putting onto their skin. Please purchase something else with just Zinc Oxide in it. Not sure what to believe? Ask a trusted pharmacist what they think of these ingredients 👍
i dont recall enjoying an american sunscreen as much as this one! the finish is definitely not matte, it's natural at best once it's dried down-initially it's quite dewy. no pilling or settling into texture/lines throughout the day, no white cast (but i'm a light skin tone), reapplies well, decently affordable, only spf 30 unfortunately, not water/sweat resistant )but i don't mind for day-to-day usually), but worst of all my pet peeve is when brands pack barely any product into a sunscreen. you need to reapply every two hours, and one full body sunscreen application requires an ounce of product (if you're plus size you'd need more and vice versa, of course). to put it in perspective, that means for a day at the beach this full bottle wouldn't quite last for two ... Morei dont recall enjoying an american sunscreen as much as this one! the finish is definitely not matte, it's natural at best once it's dried down-initially it's quite dewy. no pilling or settling into texture/lines throughout the day, no white cast (but i'm a light skin tone), reapplies well, decently affordable, only spf 30 unfortunately, not water/sweat resistant )but i don't mind for day-to-day usually), but worst of all my pet peeve is when brands pack barely any product into a sunscreen. you need to reapply every two hours, and one full body sunscreen application requires an ounce of product (if you're plus size you'd need more and vice versa, of course). to put it in perspective, that means for a day at the beach this full bottle wouldn't quite last for two total applications. make it spf 50 and water/sweat resistant, add a jumbo size (maybe lower the price while you're at it, cerave? (: ) and i'll never use another sunscreen again, promise. meanwhile, i'll still be out here hunting, though.
