I have to be honest. I've been using Cetaphil for more than 10 years. And this is my conclusion in relation to this cleanser, It is gentle, hydrating and all of those things, YET. It is not the product that will get deep into your pores and truly clean the skin. This is my conclusion, as someone who has used this product for years. It simply isn't that kind of product. I realised that just because my skin is sensitive-prone, doesn't mean that it doesn't need a thorough clean and that it doesn't get clogged. I never had any problems with acne, even throughout my teenage years - I had practically perfect skin. 7 months ago my bottles ran out, so I bought some more, not taking much notice to the fact that the bottle looked slightly different. After about a month, I was beginning to break out often. After three, I was getting terrible, painful cystic acne that took months to heal. I did not know what the problem was as once again, Cetaphil was a trusted brand. After six months, I went on a trip so I brought an old travel bottle of this cleanser. I now have a lot of scarring, dark spots and my self esteem has depleted as a result. I have never been more angry at something in my entire life. Cetaphil I am never forgiving you.

Non-drying, Great for Red/Sensitive Skin

This is great for sensitive skin. I have rosacea. Given my choice, I would prefer a redness relief face cleanser that foams or lathers, and rinses off cleanly without making my face feel dry. Eucerin used to make one for redness relief/sensitive skin that was very nice, but it has been discontinued, and nothing they have now even comes close. This Gentle Face Cleanser is different in that it's got a different consistency that's not like liquid cleanser or creamy cleanser. It isn't a gel, but that's probably the closest description I can think of. You can put it on very gently with your fingertips with harsh rubbing, and rinse it off. It will leave a bit of a residue, but it's not irritating or greasy. You can use it with a wet washcloth to remove eye makeup so that ... MoreThis is great for sensitive skin. I have rosacea. My eyes starting to stream continuously. I desperately searched for a cause - started to take a powerful anti-histamine every day (which helped), paid to see an optician and private dermatologist (£300). Dermatologist confirmed rosacea and prescribed soolantra. When my skin started to burn after using the cleanser the penny finally dropped. I did some research and found that the ingredients have changed and some people have severe reactions to them.
