I am so disappointed with this scent. I have owned/currently own Chanel Chance au Fraiche and I absolutely love it. I was so excited to receive this fragrance but it is so disappointing! It made my head start throbbing also lasted forever, which is good if you like this scent but for me it was terrible! I started feeling nauseous over it after a couple of hours of wearing it. I really dislike most all fragrances that have the vanilla scent blended in, and this one does so maybe that's why it made me feel so sick. Do NOT recommend, but that's just my personal preference. I know that lots of ladies love this perfume it probably works with their own pheromones, but not mine. P.S. it really reminds me of an old lady scent, very "mature". Dislike!

My Mother’s signature fragrance is Chanel No 5. I always find it annoying and cloying. I was gifted Chanel Coco Noire for my 50th Birthday, it has become a love. I get a nice citrus start. Patchouli, rose and spices are most prominent to me, with a sandalwood and vanilla sweetness. I do pick up similarities to mademoiselle, but this Boulder, richer, boss lady, sexy date night fragrance. I am a woman hear me roar 🐯 I feel warmth when I wear it, so for me, this is an early spring, Fall/Winter scent. For a fragrance lover, this could definitely be a unisex fragrance because it’s so woody, a tad masculine. It has such a presence, I personally don’t use it as an everyday fragrance. The scent has an extremely powdery undertone to it that I wasn’t expecting from a scent classified as a “classic floral” fragrance, so if powdery smells bother you do not buy this. This scent is probably best for cold winter months, date night, parties, etc.; jasmine absolute and bourbon vanilla are the two top notes, they do come through strong. Rose absolute is the bottom note, and normally rose bothers me, but it’s just light enough to mesh perfectly with the other notes in this perfume. It’s borderline masculine if I must be honest considering it’s a floral scent, but given “Noir” being in the name the bottle being black, I was expecting a deep scent, this definitely delivers on that. It’s very unique i 100% recommend. 🖤💯✨

Coco Noir

I love COCO NOIR…but I had trouble with a newer bottle. The cap was extremely too tight and difficult to get off…causing me to keep accidentally spraying the nozzle into the cap each time I (struggled) closed it. The perfume itself was rather weak on the Jasmine and May Rose compared to my old bottle. It’s lacking the floral kick. This batch had major Pachouli, and the dry down was still warm and powdery. The bourbon felt strong at first but it disappears. The citrus—what citrus? There’s no more citrus striking notes. The let down: this stuff doesn’t last anymore! I sprayed at least 5-10 sprays on myself and couldn’t get anyone to smell me unless they put their nose directly to my clothes and skin. But at the same time, I get that it’s not trying to be…I think I’ll relegate this one to the far reaches of my fragrance wardrobe, in the dark for a year or so, maybe more…maybe it will macerate somewhat and morph into its namesake. Here’s hoping…!

Not sexy AT ALL

I bought this on a recommendation from a fragrance YouTuber as a sexy work appropriate, non offensive scent. I read the notes, I love jasmin, vanilla, and rose how could I NOT like it? So I blind purchased it. When I received it and sprayed it on my wrist I couldn't believe how spicy and like harsh incense it smelled. I waited for it to develop but that same harsh, nasty, burnt incense lingered on. I actually had to scrub it off with 2 different makeup removers and it still lingered. There is no jasmin, vanilla, or rose anywhere at any time. Boxed up and returned. I'm in my 40's and this is awful. Maybe if you're in your 90's this might smell good to you.

I’ve been wanting to go with Tom Ford Fkn Fabulous, but I was more drawn to this one. Chanel a such a classic, and you can’t go wrong with any of their fragrances. Noir reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle, but a bit more intense and warmer. On the first spray it seems to be a bit overwhelming, but let it dry down for a few seconds and the layers really come through. Beautiful balance of musk, floral and warmth. Maybe more of an evening fragrance, but I say wear it whenever you want to feel stunning! Took one star off for longevity. I could only smell it on myself for a couple of hours, but my mom said that it still left a nice, but faint sillage at the end of the day.

I don’t know when I became a Chanel Woman, but it happened. I don’t know why I didn’t appreciate the fragrances by this brand earlier in my life because now I definitely see them all as the epitome of sophistication. I feel like Coco Noir in particular has this vibrant and joyful quality to it, and in the opening notes I actually smell an effervescent “fizziness”. I never encountered that quality in a perfume before and I am utterly addicted to it now. This perfume is so beautiful to me and I think if you enjoy it as well, just get the larger bottle. I feel like this can be worn year round and it works as an “office scent” in my opinion as well. It’s gorgeous.
