This foundation is such an experience in applying it. It smells beautiful and just glides on so smoothly. Gives you a gorgeous glow and lasts all day. It plays nicely with other Chanel products. It did not budge when I applied my Soleil Tan De Chanel on my cheeks and perimeter of my face, as well as when I applied the Chanel Le Blanc Rosy Light Drops liquid illuminator on my cheeks and other areas. I will say that normally with Chanel, when I haven't been in the sun a whole lot, I typically wear BD40 in their foundations. With this particular foundation, I had to get BD50 because BD40 was a little too light for me.

When Chanel discontinued their popular and highly rated Perfection Lumiere, I was shocked, very upset and at a loss. I’d been a Chanel makeup loyalist; Chanel foundation was the best choice for my very fair skin with yellow undertones… which led me to buy all my other makeup at Chanel as well. I have always loved Chanel Foundations but I continue to be impressed with their more recent formulas. This is my first bottle of this one and it may be my new favorite. I’m 68 with the usual aging issues but I also have a lot of texture and noticeable pores. This smoothes everything out, provides a subtle glow and somehow still looks great all day. I chose BD21 which is practically perfect and for reference I use shades 170 in La Mer and 2N2 in EL Double Wear. My prior favorite was Chanel No 1 but think this formula wears better.

Light to medium coverage indeed buildable with lovely slight perfume to it. I really like it it's not harsh at all and I'm ok with it to wear light perfume veil on my face I find it quite romantic. I don't like cakey make up I wear only light foundations. That's my personal preference my skin has pink shades on cheeks area and this light coverage balance it all out. I've used same Sade as I was using vitalumier but it's impossible to buy it anywhere so I had to switch. While this is not a matte finish I decided to try something new and this looks normal and not giving me glossy nor greasy kind of look rather natural. I use foundation brush and little goes a long way I use half way pumped bead to spread on one are for example half cheek and chin or only forehead. To be honest, I hate wearing foundation or any makeup on my face. Everything I've tried settles into my pores and just looks cakey. That being said, I'm having headshots done and I needed something to even out my skin tone. Tried this in store and was blown away by the color match. It's truly lovely. The scent is a little strong when applying, but it's not bad. It's flawless on the skin and has a lovely, light finish. I'm sure it's buildable too. It is a more dewy and hydrating foundation, great for beauties with drier skin.
I'm 60 with dry skin and fine lines. I've taken good care of my skin all my life but I still like a nice foundation to even out my skin. This foundation is lightweight with a nice light/medium coverage. It doesn't cake up or sink into fine lines. I was very happy with the results and wear. It did start to wear down after 10 hours but that's almost every foundation I own. My skin felt hydrated all day and wasn't ready to get it off my skin as soon as possible like other foundations I've tried. If you have oily skin this probably isn't for you.
Purchased the foundation and I can't believe how much I didn't like the product. I started using the Chanel line of foundations last summer during a trip to France. I got hooked and excited to try this foundation. It clings to your face in a way that doesn't look natural at all, and the color shade didn't work for me. The other thing with trying to find the correct color of your foundation can be tricky. I had to use another website to figure out which color worked for my skin tone. I don't see this as working for anyone that wants coverage and to look natural. Also, the scent is really strong and shocked me.
I looooove this foundation. Being that it is Chanel, I thought it would be an overpriced high coverage foundation so I was skeptical at first when receiving it. But I was soo wrong. It is so hydrating. It never breaks me out or feels sticky on my skin. It truly feels light and wearable for all day. Just keep in mind it is on the lower coverage side... I don't mind this because I tend to put other powder foundations on and a good amount of blush and bronzer so it's the perfect background foundation for all your products and it works on a good not-too-much makeup day. Love it and will be repurchasing when I finish it.
