This shade is limited edition and it is part of the No 5 collection. Packaging: absolutely gorgeous, it has the No 5 logo on it and you are paying extra for that. Shade and finish: it is a warm red, quite opaque with a satin finish. It does not feel drying on the lips and it lasts a long time. I apply it with a lip liner, but it can work without it too. Overall: beautiful shade, good formula, but unfortunately it's very expensive. I took a star off for the price. It is Chanel and No 5, you are paying for that, but it is not a mind blowing, best in class formula. I believe it can be even better.

This is the first time I’ve tried Chanel’s limited-edition Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour. This lipstick from Chanel’s 2020 Holiday Collection has the Rouge Allure line’s intense color and signature creamy, hydrating formula, but with tiny micro glitter added for a little holiday sparkle. Don’t worry, you don’t feel the glitter at all. There’s no gritty feeling on the lips whatsoever. I wouldn’t even call it glitter. It’s so fine that it really just gives the lipstick a luminosity that catches the light as you move. It’s not really “glittery”. At first I just bought the nude shade, 107 Or Beige, which is the most luminous of the 4 shades and a slightly pinkish warm nude. If any of the shades look a tiny bit glittery, it’s the nude shade. Anyway, I fell in LOVE and had to go back for more. I ordered 127 Rouge D’Or (a bright blue-based red that I’m wearing in an attached photo) and 137 Pourpre D’Or (a deep burgundy/wine). Both have subtle shimmer that catches the light in an understated, yet elegant way. If you can afford the price tag of $45 a tube, I’d definitely recommend picking one up. They truly are special. The packaging alone is just gorgeous with the sleek black tube and gold edges. And the mechanism that opens it is so unique. The tube is inverted. You push down on the top of the tube (which is actually the bottom) and it pops up to reveal the lipstick. Very cool concept that makes this luxury lipstick feel luxurious indeed. #holidaylook #holidaylooks

Absolutely love Chanel lipstick! So smooth and conditioning. The subtle scent of rose water is exquisite. The color "Sensibilite" is a very feminine pinky peach which I adore with my pale olive complexion and golden brown hair with blonde hilights. I will be purchasing many more colors of this divine lipstick

99 Pirate Classic Color!! I liked it a lot
9 July 2022

This was my first time trying the Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Color. I was looking for a red color that would wear well AND wear away well, while being flattering on my fair, cool skin tone. I am always in the first three colors for foundations. That said, I liked 99 Pirate a lot and find it very flattering on my skin tone. The lipstick wears pretty comfortably and has a lot of color payoff. There is no crumbling or white inner, gunky, circle. This is not a deep red, more of a poppy red on me, definitely more blue in tone.

I had this and bought it again
24 May 2022

I regret that I swapped this lipstick with another makeup junkie because I had my colors done and was told it is wrong for me. It is not wrong. In fact, I am more comfortable in red lipsticks with a bright warm tone than the deep berry lipsticks my analyst recommended for me. I am a Bright Winter with olive skin and blue eyes. I can take a little gold metallic in my lipstick. This Coromandel lipstick has articles written about it. It is a classic for Chanel. Keira Knightly (also a Winter) wore in in Atonement, and Cate Blanchett (a Summer) wore it in Carol. It looked great on them, and also great on me. I think this suits all skins except for some that are too pale to wear it. I had to repurchase it after giving it away. I bought the matching nail polish too.

The description is 100% accurate where it says "an ultrafine, melt-away, second-skin-like texture." The texture of this lipstick is unbeatable. It doesn't feel heavy or gloopy on your lips. In fact I can't feel it at all. This lipstick in shade 188 Secret is my all-time favorite, holy grail lipstick. One light swipe and it's a my-lips-but-better shade. Apply with a heavier hand and it becomes the rich burgundy you see on the model photos. A multi tasking lipstick! I have even dabbed this on my cheeks as blush in a pinch. It definitely fades throughout the day, so you need to reapply, but it fades beautifully to a lip stain type finish. And it doesn't leave my lips cracked or dry like other lipsticks. It feels nourishing and softening. My only complaint is that I ... MoreThe description is 100% accurate where it says "an ultrafine, melt-away, second-skin-like texture." not for sensitive lips

There’s some ingredient(s) in here that my lips do not agree with. It’s incredibly drying. Even with a lip balm underneath, the lipstick for me is still violently drying. The formula isn’t very creamy, it’s thin and cheap, my revlon lipsticks are more luxurious than this. The colors are absolutely stunning but unfortunately this particular lipstick formula is extremely damaging. My lips were peeling for days. Also the packaging feels super light and cheap. It isn’t the same feel as their blush packaging. This packaging looks on point, but the moment you pick it up it just feels cheap. I love Chanel beauty products but unfortunately this particular lipstick formula did not work out for me. If you are allergic to the fresh sugar lip balms and it causes an irritation to your lips, this lipstick is very similar. Those two lip products have very similar negative effects on my poor lips. Returned. I’ll just stick with Chanel’s lip glosses as those are not damaging to my lips and also have nice color selections and shine. Currently only own the noir gloss from the limited noir et blanc collection which I hear is the most similar to their former lip gloss formula.

the good and the not so good.
20 August 2022

The good is the color Subtile 211. On me it's a reddish/brown. Reminiscent of the 1990's colors I loved. No feathering and very minimal transfer. The not so good: There is nothing vibrant, intense or luminous with the lipstick. No shine or satin feeling. Feels more like a matte and somewhat drying. The lipstick did settle into my lip lines. As the description states, "melt away" and that is exactly what it does, melts away with talking, eating or doing absolutely nothing. No way was this long lasting. Maybe a little more longevity than the Chanel Bloom lipsticks. I also tried color 198 Nuance which was more of a mauve brown on me. Returning Nuance and will stick with Subtile for now.
