I had a glass butter dish until I realised it had chipped, and eating glass is not great for you. I bought this Chasseur dish, and it is beautiful and functional. The handle on the lid makes life easy. It fits my butter (admittedly European) perfectly. And it's not likely to try to kill me -- so, all up, a winner! I got it for a great price from Peter's of Kensington, who are also awesome.
Bought because there isn't a lot of choice on-line and I couldn't find a butter dish locally. I love the colour but had underestimated the size. This can only hold a small amount of butter due to the little inner rim. Not big enough for everyday family needs.
Packed well for protection. arrived very quickly and in good condition. This is a Christmas present for my daughter. I'm sure she will love it.
Smaller than I expected, but a great product. Comfortably holds a 250g block of butter. A 500g one wouldn't be suitable for this dish. Has a beautiful finish and looks great in my kitchen.
After checking the sizing of the Chasseur butter dish I ordered two, believing them to be for a 500g pat of butter. The measurements were for the outside, so they weren't what we wanted. It would have been good to know what size pat of butter it was for, or given the inside measurements.
Doesn't fit a large 500g butter but I cut it in half and freeze half, so problem solved. I love this product! Well packaged, prompt delivery and excellent price.
I bought this for my daughter as she loves real old fashioned butter and she absolutely loves it and so easy to find in the fridge with being bright red. I think I should buy another.I just love the old fashioness of butter in it dish.
