Amazing lawnmower

Bought this last month after moving to a new place with a massive back yard. Never done lawn maintenance before. I had grass that was grown pretty tall and this machine did a great job once I got the hang of it. I would highly recommend it. Although for taller grass I higher powered machine would be much better. Love the brand and I’m using it no issues at all

Doesn't cut short enough, design fault.

[would be a] Great mower, but it doesn't cut short enough. Otherwise I would give 5 stars but can not recommend with this simple fault. The lowest is 35mm (not the advertised 17mm) making it next to useless to mow a lawn adequately. The height adjuster must be wrong; the heights are more than 10mm higher than stated.Otherwise, it is an excellent mower that runs very smoothly, starts easily and simple to operate. But this simple design fault makes it next to useless to adequately more a lawn. I am very annoyed by it. Maybe the wrong height adjuster guide was installed. I will go and talk to them after Easter to see what the go is.

I bought this yesterday and mowed the long, thick grass at the back of my complex. For a budget lawn mower, this goes like a little rocket! It's lightweight, compact, easy to move around and it has a retro look (love the green) that will age well. It's even better than the expensive Victa I had a decade ago. Don't listen to reviews that say it konks out after a few months. That's generally down to overworking and under-maintaining.

Great little mower
1 July 2021

Great little mower, low revs but cuts through quite long grass without choking, very quiet.Needs some assembly but real easy. You will need to add motor oil as this is a 4 stroke engine, DON'T FORGET TO ADD OIL. Took a few tugs at the starter to start, even after a number of pumps of the primer as it was totally dry. Started first pop on the next start. No problems cutting a thick lawn, cuts low but the frame will drag on the lawn at the lowest setting, but it cuts low enough. Recommended.

Hard to start, wobbly wheels, blown engine after 7months
30 April 2022

I purchased this to replace my 20year old rover and it was a nightmare from the word go. After 3 pumps of the primer the engine will start then dye. The only way to get it to run is to pump the primer 3 times then pull the cord then repeatedly pump the primer until the engine reaches operating temp then i I can use it to mow. At which point I’ve wasted 1/4 of the tank. After 3 mows the front wheels started to wabble to the point I feel like they will fall off. And now after 7 months of persisting with this piece of junk the engine has blown. If I mow on a hill the engine just pours out smoke. Oil level is good I’m using fresh regular 91 and it’s just useless. I can’t mow the front yard cause I can’t see through the thing smoke bellowing out of the mower.

Lightweight and flimsy
26 October 2021

Bought this a couple of months ago. Used it 3 or 4 times on a small, well maintained yard. The metal frame for the catch has already broken, and the plastic flap you lift to remove the catch doesn't work anymore either. Motor runs nice enough, but the whole thing is just a bit cheap and flimsy.Took it back and they happily refunded without any issues. I'll get something that's more expensive but will also last longer instead.

Not for thick or spongy grass types
19 November 2021

Had this for about a month or 2. Starts and runs very well. It is an entry level mower and NOT suited to larger areas or as I stated in the title thick grass. So if you have dense thick areas of cover or buffalo, give this a missYou can cut well on the high settings but the overall flow and movement of the mower is clunky at bestThis would be best for owners who have small areas and a solid, flat under baseDefinitely does not like dips in the lawnWorks very well for what it is. No issues to prime and start. Fairly quiet also

Not impressed with the handle design but works well
11 October 2021

The lower handle is secured by two nuts which had fallen off in the first day of use. I only noticed the nuts are gone when disassembling the handle. I had brought and used other lawn mowers before which have better design to assemble/secure the handles, e.g. a large plastic housing the nut which can be tighten by hand. There was no tools included for the nuts, so I had only tighten the nuts by hand and they had fallen off soon after because I found one of them at where I first started the engine. If you don't have tools to tighen the nut or afraid of losing it, take it off after the handle is assembled, the nuts are not required to secure it when the handle are assembled. I believe I had mowed the lawn without the nuts and there was no sign the handle was loose. ... MoreThe lower handle is secured by two nuts which had fallen off in the first day of use. I believe I had mowed the lawn without the nuts and there was no sign the handle was loose. The engine starts easily and was powerful enough to cut through long grass. However, I don't like the 3 piece handle design, it is difficult to stored them when not in use. I brought it only because there is no other choices at this price range and I don't like this year's Aldi version due to holding the safety handle to keep engine running.

Overall bit crap, but not terrible.
14 February 2023

Word to the wise. It's exactly the same as the Yard King which is worth about 100 dollars more. Guess you're paying for the yellow paint. Not bad for the price. Top speed is quite slow but there does seem to be more revs available with some modification. Wouldn't use it on a huge lawn as you'll be emptying the catcher way too much. Also, can need a bit of mechanical sympathy to coax it to start sometimes. This can include timing the speed controller with starter pulls, squeezing fuel through the tubes manually to prime and occasionally cleaning the spark plug. If grass is very high you'll need to do a high cut, then do a lower cut or the engine will bog down.

Underpowered and too high cutting height
28 July 2022

Cheap price but sold it two weeks after our heading it. Cut height is too high. Blades don't cut low enough. Very low powered and struggled through anything that's not a trim job. Just not powerful enough and can not cut lawn low. Also has a very small catcher.
