My sister has this sharpener and her knives are always wonderful to use. I had avoided purchasing an electric sharpener because I heard they were not good for the knives. However, I did a bit of research and determined that the overall benefit was well worth it!! I've had the sharpener a week and already notice a difference.

My wife bought this for me for Valentine's Day. I wish I could give it a 5 star review like others have, but I don't feel it deserves it. It does a good job but not an excellent one. I feel the reason that it works as well as it does is because it creates a serrated edge which is fine for the kitchen knives, but not my sportsman knives. If you don't want a serrated finish then this sharpener isn't for you. You will also need to do some finishing work with a steel to remove burrs.
I looked at several sharpeners in many price ranges from $19.95 to over $150.00. This seemed like a good compromise and had many favorable reviews. I own three high quality 8" chef's knives that had become dull with years of use. I sharpened all three knives this weekend and the sharpener did an amazing job. I think the knives are sharper than when they were new. I was not only amazed, I was very pleased with the results.
My knives were woefully dull, had not been sharpened in years (yes, I know, it's embarrassing). I have a nice selection of Cutco knives, purchased over the years from friends' sons who worked for Cutco. I have just sharpened all of my knives and I haven't been this excited about a purchase in a long time! Even stringy celery is a cinch to chop. Follow the directions and you will be glad you purchased this knife sharpener.
I have used my dad's honing stone for decades without a nick one in my blades. I cannot say the same for this monster. It did not do a good sharpening job, left nicks in my knives and scarred the flat of the blades. I would never recommended this monster. I am saying it is a perfect gift for a significant other since I only know one of those. I would not recommend this a all. However, the site will not let you post your comments if you do recommend it as gift to someone.!
I am in awe!Saw this knife sharpener in an article and recommended by Ina Garten. It does not disappoint! Read the instructions and be careful afterwards to avoid cutting yourself! As one review notes, it did make a scratch on the side of one knife, but next time I used it, scratch was gone! ( obviously, scratch was caused by the way I used the sharpener the first time). Would most highly recommend!
I have a couple nice Japanese Shun knives and I was terrified to ruin them by sharpening them myself, but the Chef'sChoice made it super quick and easy!! My knives cut like they're one day old and it makes cooking fun again! Once you read the instructions, it's super hard to mess up. Highly recommend!
Wonderful tool for dull knives. Got this as a Christmas present and immediately tried sharpening some old knives. They are like new, super sharp. Great home kitchen tool
