I love my chilewich rugs. My first one I purchased several years ago. I recently needed a replacement runner that was a "regular" rug that I kept tripping over. So I ordered a chilewich to match the one I already had. Glad to get rid of that tripping hazard regular rug. I put the chilewich down and the older one I have compared to the new one...SAME colors...no fade or anything from the 1st one I purchased! There's no slipping. No need for a mat underneath. I will only buy chilewich now! LOVE THEM!

Sometimes a “safety” product can be unattractive but a necessary purchase which overrules my design aesthetic. Not in this case: when 80yo Mom moved in, we needed to replace the wool foyer rug (a tripping hazard for her) with something no-slip and low profile. There was no debate on what to get — we bought the large version of the Chilewich blue skinny stripe to match a previous smaller rug! I love the durability and easy cleaning of the shag rugs and highly recommend. These rugs are designed to last for a long time —making them very affordable.

I have wanted a Skinny Stripe Shag Mat for years after seeing one at a friend's house. We recently renovated our entry and ordered the mat. Can't say enough good things about the styling and quality. We get so many compliments, and the cheerful orange color brings a smile every time we come home. Bought one for a friend, and she loves it too. Highly recommend!!!

Chilewich mats are handsome, durable & easy to clean. The skinny stripe shag mat in birch is our 3rd. This new mat is now at at our front door refreshing the whole screened-in foyer. The older two mats which are at least six years old or more and don't look it at all, are now in ideal spots on our lanai's two access points.
I love this shag mat! It is inside my front door and I honestly cannot believe how much it helps in keeping my floors clean! It has VERY significantly cut down the amount of sand and fine stones that usually get tracked into the house. I am constantly surprised at what it has collected when I shake it outside. I would purchase it again in a heartbeat!

You can feel the traction as you wipe your feet against the mat, but it’s not brittle, like some outdoor mats are. There is no slipping - top or bottom. I did have a concern that they they would slide around on smooth surfaces but they don’t; they are heavy and stay put.To clean them, I just shake them out, hose them off and let them dry in the sun. Nice and simple! I couldn’t be happier!I realize they are expensive, but they are worth it! I don’t want to spend my day cleaning; plus the feeling of walking on a grit-free floor is awesome! I wish they made these in more 'normal' door rug sizes. The one I ordered is too small, but the next size would not have fit. Couldn't use it where I ordered it for. It just looked silly. Yes I read the measurements, but I was hoping I could make it work. I couldn't. My neighbor raves on these rugs. Sorry, I'm not impressed!
I ordered 2 replacements for entry door mats. I’ve had my old Chilewich mats for a long time and they’re still in good condition, but a little faded and suffering from attacks my my cat’s claws. I’ll continue to use the old mats elsewhere, but will put the new ones at the main entrances for a refresh for those more prominent locations. Excellent product!
Eons ago, our first Chilewich products were 2 pretty apricot colored placemats--easy to clean under the tap. We added another set in turquoise. Loved the color and bought a turquoise rug. Couldn't resist a striped shag rug for the front door. Added dark winter green placemats. Bought 2 rugs and 3 runners in shag mushroom for a path on one side of the garage that leads to my studio-over-the garage. (Elegant color on cement.) The colors have not changed over time and use, and we love the easy care. Bravo Chilewich!
The pattern is attractive and the surface is stiff and durable, but the backing of this mat is extremely slippery. I put one outside the front door, and nearly slipped and fell on the first day of cold weather because the vinyl backing does not in any way grip the Trex lumber on the porch…when I took the first step it slid out from under me like it was on a sheet of ice. Not practical - really useless - as an outdoor doormat on a porch in Chicago.
