Much nicer than anticipated. I didn't have high expectations for this cake, given it is gluten free and dairy free I expected it to taste bland. I was very wrong... this cake exceeded my expectations big time. The base has a nutty, biscuity texture and flavour and was delicious. The base was only slightly crumbly when I cut through it, but it held it's form and didn't cause the servings to look messy. The chooclate cheescake filling was delicious. It has a fudgy, moist texture and has a good balance of sweetness, with a hint of coconut. The pack suggests there are 8 slices per pack, however we sliced it 6 ways and the slices were perfect size. I think 8 slices would be too small. We served ours with ice cream too. There are no surprises in the ingredients list, it's ...Ā MoreMuch nicer than anticipated. There are no surprises in the ingredients list, it's a chocolate cake so of course it has sugar and fat and a 2. 5 star health rating. The percentage of Australian ingredients (45%) seems low, but that could be due to the cashews being imported. We have extended family members with coeliac disease, so this would be a perfect "go to" dessert if we had family over for a meal.

Delicious Dairy Free Choc Cheesecake. Since we're not getting samples at the moment I decided I better go and try something new and I just happened to find this chocolate cheesecake marked down to $4. 20 and I felt it was my duty as a good bunch member to try it for you all. I'm pleased to report it's a winner with me. As someone who loves the creaminess of traditional cheesecake, a dairy free cheesecake is different to that but is a great substitute for those who can't or don't want dairy in their diet. It has the added health benefits of having cashews and chickpeas in it but unfortunately does have palm oil and is very high in sugar. It doesn't have the super rich chocolate deliciousness but does have cocoa powder for that chocolate taste so this might make it ...Ā MoreDelicious Dairy Free Choc Cheesecake. People I shared this with couldn't believe it was GF and DF. I took this in to work as we have a few people that are GF and DF. This is the responses I got... I personally am not a big rich chocolate fan, so I found this cheesecake quite refreshing, light and yummy. The base went well with the chocolate top and they complimented each other. I liked the texture. It first looked more like a slice when cut up, but the smooth mousse type texture was very nice. I eat lots of GF DF sugar free bits, it was a nice treat. The base came off the top, but the flavours are yummy! Different texture to what people might expect from a cheesecake, I don’t usually eat things with sugar in them, but if we had a special occasion I would probably buy it. Id dress it with raspberries and serve it up for sure!

Amazing Dairy Free Desert Option!! Okay so I can't have dairy but I CAN eat this cheesecake which is mainly made from cashews, coconut and chickpeas! I loved it because it's very hard to find foods that are prepared at the shops that I can eat and I also loved it because it tasted amazing - (I don't eat a lot of sugar so it was plenty sweet enough for me). I loved the thick base (which I think would have had a lot of chickpeas in it) but my daughter said she would have preferred it if it was a thinner base - but please don't change it because I loved it like this! The chocolate part was smooth, creamy and sweet to eat - but not too sweet which was fantastic for my personal tastebuds. The only thing is that it was fairly high in saturated fat so I could only eat a very small piece but my family made sure it didn't last long in the fridge as they finished it off fast. So if there was one change I could suggest for this is that the coconut cream be very much reduced and a lower saturated fat product be used as a replacement - then I could eat a bigger sized piece. I would buy this again as a treat for my family, for Christmas or birthdays and I will actually be able to have a piece - yay!!

Not a cheesecake. I brought this cheesecake for my mum who is both gluten and dairy intolerant. But of course had to try some for myself also. The cheesecake is found in the refrigerated section in the bakery department and It costs $12 but I brought it on ā€˜sale’ today for $11. I don’t think it’s such a bad price especially for the size of it, which is quite generous. It’s comes in a plastic tray with a lid which is handy if you don’t eat it all in one go, so you can store some for later. It contains no artificial colours or flavours and has a 2. 5 star health rating, which actually surprised me as I thought it would be more given the healthy ingredients that are in it. Just by looking at it you could also tell that it didn’t have the texture of a cheesecake. This was also confirmed when I took my first bite and the texture was very dense and not smooth like a cheesecake should be. It was more like a brownie then a cheesecake. It had a rich chocolate flavour with bits of nuts for some extra texture. The base held nicely and crumbled in your mouth. This can easily get sickly sweet so only a little slice is enough, and it would be nice paired with some vanilla ice cream or fresh cream. This all being said however it is not a cheesecake. There is no cheese in this what so ever so I don’t think it should be called a cheesecake. It did taste surprisingly good though.

Trick AND Treat Chocolate Cheesecake! A perfect way to treat those with a number of special dietary requirements, who would otherwise feel a little deprived of delicious sweet options! I did have to ask the Bakery if it was available, in which it came out frozen. Therefore this needs to be considered if it was in the display fridge and defrosted. A lovely flavour without being too sweet and creamy, with the use of chick peas had everyone amazed. Not a cheap cake, but with very few convenient quality cakes to suit Vegans, Vegetarians and gluten free ... this is a crowd pleaser! My suggestion is ignore the cake price as a whole and cost it per serving, in which I ask ... where can you get a delicious serving of dessert for $1. 50 per serve? Coconut cashew cocoa chickpea cheesecake. We were very excited to receive this cheesecake as our bunchiversary sample! It comes in a transparent plastic box (non-recyclable) with cardboard sleeve. Sample Tester cut a slice:The top has a lovely coconut chocolate flavour, the chickpea cashew base is a bit crumbly but also delicious. I found both top and base overly sweet and ST agreed but then seemed only too happy to be left the rest of the cheesecake to finish off! I rated it 3 stars while ST thought it might get 4. Soon ST looked forward to it so much I suspected addiction was setting in! When it came down to the last slice and ST was mopping up the crumbs I asked for a final rating. ā€œIt was too sweet when I first tried it, ā€ said ST, ā€œ but it doesn't seem too sweet anymore so I’ll give it 5 stars!ā€ A sure sign of sugar addiction! It is made in Australia from at least 45% local ingredients which is not too surprising given that ingredients such as cashews, coconut milk and cocoa are not produced in commercially significant amounts in Australia. It contains vegetable oil (including palm). I’m not sure if this means it’s a vegetable oil blend which includes palm or if the vegetable oil used may vary and palm oil is one of the oils which could be used. Either way, they should get rid of the palm oil and specify what vegetable oil they use!Price is $12 for 675g ($1. 78/100g) which seems ok for a speciality product. Overall I think this could be an excellent product for the vegan and gluten and dairy free markets but the sugar level of 20. 7g per 100g needs to be decreased. Doing this might also push up the HSR from its current level of 2. 5. As for the review rating, I will stick with 3 stars while sugar addict ST goes for 5 so that makes it 4 overall!

Absolutely delicious, but not quite a cheesecake. There are a lot of positives about this cake. Firstly, it's dairy free - which suits my lactose intolerance. It's also celiac and vegan friendly, so it's a good cake if you've got guests with varying dietary needs. Secondly, it's delicious - it's creamy, chocolatey, with a hint of coconut. The base is divine. And thirdly, the ingredients are actually recognisable foods - cashew, coconut, tapioca, etc - which is refreshing when so many vegan options are packed full of god-knows-what to make them taste ok. The only negative is that it doesn't have a cheesecake-y texture. To me, it's more like a fridge slice or brownie texture. The base also comes away from the topping a bit. I'll definitely be buying it again as it's one of the only lactose free options for a pre-made cake that I've seen, and certainly the one I enjoyed the most.

Life without lactose just got a whole lot sweeter! Wow! This blew me away. The top is incredible - super rich in chocolate flavour, with a stunning texture (a smooth blend containing delicately soft crushed nuts). And the base is a perfect match for the top. The dusting of icing sugar on the top provides a well deserved touch of elegance, and a nostalgic twist for me as it reminds me of my family’s traditional Croatian desserts. Don’t change a thing Woolies, your chefs have outdone themselves!!! Don't even change the base, it cuts just fine with a steak knife. I’m curious about why this isn’t labelled vegan, as it doesn’t seem to have animal products. Smaller versions of this cake, for solo households like mine, could make a great addition to your range. Divine Dairy Free Treat. But I’m ahead of myself ... Not too sweet, not too rich, fantastic consistency and a great proportion of ā€˜cheesecake’ to crumb base ratio. It was a winner amongst all the adults and kids alike. For those ā€˜dairy eaters’ amongst us, it was served with double cream but for me, it was perfect as is. Ive never purchased a cheesecake before but after tasting this one, I am seriously converted. So easy, so convenient and so very great to have a gluten and dairy free option available for those who need it. Thank you Woolies, I’m a fan.
