Chrome by Azzaro, First launched in 1996, Chrome is a fresh spicy cologne with woody accords. This aromatic fragrance opens with citrusy top notes of lemon, bergamot, pineapple, neroli and rosemary. Jasmine, coriander and cyclamen make up the floral heart. The bottom notes contain tonka bean, cardamom and musk with sandalwood, Brazilian rosewood, oakmoss and cedar. Loris Azzaro was an Italian fashion and fragrance designer who released dozens of successful perfumes in his lifetime. The brand developed as a side project where he created elegant jewelry, accessories and beaded bags primarily for his wife and muse, Michelle Carsy. In 1965, he began producing his own fashion line, and the pieces grew particularly popular among local women. Eventually, celebrities and notable figures like Jane Birkin and Bridget Bardot began wearing his work. The first Azzaro perfume was released in 1975, inspired by a famous Salvador Dali painting. The following year, a men’s fragrance was released.

I have to address the packaging first, which is the questionable choice at best. Im not sure who the intended audience is. Is it the gun enthusiast looking for a scent bold enough to stand up to the Sulfurous kick of gun smoke after a day at the range or an evening fending off criminals Is it the gas station cologne enthusiast Its very specific is what Im getting at, and as someone in the creative and marketing field, it comes off as tacky to me for a highendpremium priced product. Lets take aim at the cologne itself. Despite my distaste for the packaging, the scent is intriguing. It IS bold and being labeled eau de parfum intense alludes to as much. Aggressive spice overtones definite hints of cardamom as the descriptions imply with warm vanilla and wood ... MoreI have to address the packaging first, which is the questionable choice at best. Aggressive spice overtones definite hints of cardamom as the descriptions imply with warm vanilla and wood undertones. I used one spray spread on my pulse points and one to walk through and it was more than enough. Its a welcome departure from the fresh scents that proliferate most colognes and perfumes. Not a knock against those, but it sets Most Wanted apart from all of the scents Ive used in recent memory. Use it judiciously, given its intensity, but I sincerely enjoyed this new cologne and its warming tones will likely make it a favorite come fall and winter. If the packaging is a turnoff, ignore it, if its not, great, because the scent is worth trying.
