I might have a hard time convincing you that my teddy bear looking Labradoodle is a power chewer. I swear my boy has OCD traits, as he will gnaw the heck out of something he has deemed his favorite toy. He usually makes quick work of bones or any toy that has sewn on eyes, ears or limbs. However, after daily abuse of this Chuckit! ball it still has no signs of wear and tear. The bright colors really catch his eye, and the shaggy terrycloth texture and material is very stimulating for chewers. It is about the size of a softball, so too big to continually get lost under the couch and small enough that it can easily be carried around. Within a couple of weeks’ use this has quickly became his favorite…and mine too!

This is one of the coolest toys for playing with a small to medium sized dog. We happen to have a beagle, that has unlimited energy. The ball although mainly for outdoor play, we enjoy playing with safely indoors as well. The ball being brightly colored... just a massive plus, as it makes finding so easy even if it lands in high grass. I see they make a launcher that fits these balls, and I can only assume it would allow the ball to fly way further then if thrown by hand, that may be a possibility, but for now we just enjoy the enthusiasm our pup has retrieving and chewing on the ball as he plays. As you can hopefully see in the photos, the ball is not smooth, so lots of little I like to call burrs for the teeth to grab onto. If I could add one thing, it would be a ... Now and then my boys will play with the dog in the house. But most of the time, the boys are playing video games and can careless to play with the dog. So, I got the Chuckit ball in hopes that it would spark more interest for the boys to play with Robbie. Robbie is a big Labrador who is very friendly and loves a good play with any type of ball. This Chuckit ball is very eye catching with colors of bright orange and light blue made to look like a tennis ball. And Robbie has been eyeballing since I got it. I suspect it is made of a foam like material, like those stress balls. The label says it is made of ethyl vinyl acetate. The ball is hand washed only and then I think is air dried only because there is not drying instructions. Robbie likes the ball, but I am not too fond of how wet it gets.

The ball is pretty big I don't know if it ones in different sizes but this one was just the right size for our bull mastiff it is lightweight so you can throw it around without wearing your hand out. There is a fuzzy shaggy carpet like cover on it. I'm not too thrilled with that since my dog starting ripping it off. So I don't see this balls cover lasting long. He loves to rip things apart. But we shall see if it withstands his enthusiasm. The colors are vibrant and easy to see in the yard.
We have had great luck with other Chuckit! products so I was excited to try this one. I don't know why it says that this is "small" as it is larger than a standard softball. It's great that it doesn't bounce all over so I didn't have to worry about it breaking something. It is soft to the touch and soft to squeeze so it was easy for the dogs to get a grip on it. My dogs played with this for quite a bit, but I woke up the next morning, not even 18 hours later, and my dogs had managed to destroy the ball. They are not heavy chewers, by any means, but I think the soft texture and ease of chewing was too enticing and they just went to town. This is not a toy that can just be left out when it is not being played with.
My dog is really enjoying this toy. I thought it was a little big for her (she weighs 20 pounds but the toy was stated as small) but she manages very well with it. And because blue is a color dogs see well, I think it was a good choice for the toy. She loves to chase it and bring it to me to throw again and again.Because she is small the ball will not fit entirely in her mouth, and that makes it possible for us to play catch! I bounce the ball to her and she bats it back to me with her nose. This is so much fun; I can’t believe how well she does this. As well as playing “catch” with me, she will play with this by herself, rolling it all around, picking it up and tossing it in the air. Granted, she is a very playful for an 8-year old dog, but I think most dogs that like toys would really enjoy the Chuchit!I would recommend this for indoor play as it is soft and does not damage anything when I throw it and it lands against a wall or on a piece of furniture. Or occasionally hits another person in the room. Although my dog can be quite a chewer, she has done no damage to the Chuchit!I think the only thing that could have made this toy more fun would be to have a squeaker or have it make a noise when it bounces, hence my 4-star rating.
My dog loves her new ball. She’s been keeping it in her bed with her, so cute! The ball is a little bigger than a softball and has a soft terry-like material on the outside that has a really nice feel, sort of like a stuffed animal. It’s light, so not worried about breaking things if play gets a little wild. My dog isn’t a big fetcher, but she does like to chase her toys when they’re thrown. One thing I LOVE about this ball is that it’s big enough to not roll under furniture and get stuck. It just bounces off the bottom and then she can attack it. All in all, a nice new toy for my spoiled pup.
Love this ball! I have a toy loving border collie and she loves playing with this toy. We have had the ball for a couple of weeks now and so far it has held up great. She plays with it every day. We really like the soft cloth material. After playing with it so much it got icky from the slobber so it could use a cleaning but overall, it has been a great ball. I really like the bright colors. The bright orange stands out and makes the toy easy to find. I was a little concerned that the ball was so big, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference to my dog. She can catch it and carry it around with her without any problems. Instead of trying to fit it in her mouth, she grabs ahold of the cloth. After playing with my pup with this toy I appreciate that it isn’t just another tennis ball. This toy is a great addition to our toy collection. Thank you for not putting a squeaker in this ball. I recommend this toy for some owners. Our previous dog was a lab. The lab would have had it torn apart in a day.
I received the ChuckIt! Brand dog toy. This toy was a good size orange and blue ball. I would say the ball is about 5 inch. It has a fuzzy exterior and squishes a little bit but not much. My dog is a medium size dog about 30 pounds so he can get his mouth around it but barley. I think because it is bigger size for him that is why he hasn’t torn it up yet. So far he will carry it around in his mouth for awhile. He isn’t good at fetch but it would be a good ball for that. He eventually did tear up this toy some so I had to take it away for awhile so he didn’t eat it. It seems sturdy and the colors are nice. My dog seems to like it. I think for a larger dog it would be easy to chew up pretty quickly.
This Chuck it ball is large, my 100 pound lab could barely fit it in his mouth. So I would say its best for larger breed dogs only. The ball does not fit into the chuck it thrower- this is a completely different style ball that is made of a soft and light material so its not for outdoor throwing or use, it has a fuzzy cover that would get dirty quick outdoors. My dog loved the fuzziness of it , squeezuing it in his mouth and it was good for a indoor game of catch. But like all the soft fuzzy toys, he destroyed it on the second day. If you have a chewer - you might want to put the toy away after some monitored play.
