Our last dog loved his "frisbee" which is about as safe a fetch toy you can use in a 1 bedroom apartment. Our puppy is now taller than our previous dog and while he hasn't learned to fetch mid-air yet he too loves his frisbee. He also likes to use it like a plate, curved upward, to carry his other toys around or to chew other toys on top of it. The texture is great for when he is teething, and though it can only be spot cleaned some hydrogen peroxide works magic.

So this flying squirrel is basically like the outdoor version. My dog loves to play with it, but gosh it is too large and heavy for indoor play. If your dog is like mine and is all about playing be careful throwing this toy. Loki always looks at the toy being thrown and plots his course, whipping around and chasing as fast as he can, into the kitchen cabinets. OUCH Seems very well made like all the other Chuckit! indoor toys. We have them all, this one just doesn't fit the bill for indoor play. Unless your home is huge and has a football field inside !!

My dog absolutely LOVES the regular Flying Squirrel made by Chuck-it!! I'm only worried this may not be as durable as the other one. I've already noticed a slight "tear" in one of the corners/legs. I think the other one is better for JRT's that like to destroy things. As far as recommending this item, I think it will determine the AGE/BREED of the dog that will be using it.

Our dog has a large basket of toys but the Chuckit toys are always his favorite. They are not the most durable but each one lasts for several weeks or a month and they do not make a mess when he finally destroys them. He seems to really enjoy the chewing sensation of these toys and will chew for hours.
After reading the reviews of this toy we only play fetch with this. After that this gets put up. It is not something that is left for our puppy to chew up. She really likes this (frog) to play catch with. We call it frog or frogger as she already associates the word Squirrel with the critters outside and if I say that word while playing with her all she wants to do is go outside to find the critters.
I'm always looking for a soft toy that can withstand my 1 year old Boston Terrier. This one does not have stuffing, which is a bonus, but instead, it contains a hard plastic foam. My boy ripped it open and began shredding it within a matter of minutes. Unfortunately I had to throw it away the same day I got it. If your dog is NOT a chewer, this might be a decent option for inside play. For now though, I'll continue my search.
Our very smart two-year-old bulldog is constantly searching for new toys/activities to engage her. I purchased this in the hope that I could use it as a throw toy inside during inclement weather. She loved it from the moment she first saw it. Whenever I throw it down the hallway, she races for it, grabs it, carries it somewhere and shakes it vigorously. She also plays keep-away with me. I've had it for about three months. It's still in one piece, although a bit chewed on.
I really like the way this flying toy is curved. It doesn’t matter when you fly it, how it lands, your dog can pick it up. Unfortunately, the texture had our one year old German Shepherds, chew instinct kick in. It’s not meant for chewers. It lasted just a matter of days, but my 30 pound Cocker Spaniel loves the ball shape and the octagon shape. They’ve held up to her very well and she likes to chew the ears and extremities off her plush toys. These she just nibbles, doesn’t do any damage. They are nice, indoor toys, they don’t squeak, but they are not for dogs that chew up things.
My 50 lbs OEB loves thing for indoor play while the summers are too hot for outside fetch. This toy would even work for dogs twice her size. Super durable too, she can get through most toys in minutes but this one has lasted weeks. Will purchase again when it finally gives out down the road.
Bought this to toss to my dog in doors but there are some problems.1. It’s very stiff and large so you’d need a pretty large space and nothing to knock over.2.The inside is a foam which is not very strong. My dog had a corner broken off on the first day.3. My dog always hesitates to pick it up with her mouth after thrown which is unusual. We bought this because the outdoor large Chuck-It ball is my dogs favorite toy (mine too) so this one was a little disappointing.
