Great customer service and fast shipping. Not really loving these knitting needles though, they are a lot different than my other Chiaogoo needles. The bamboo needles themselves are fine, but the cable is very sticky/grippy, not smooth like the red lace cables, so the yarn doesn’t flow over it well. I’m hoping that with time and use they will become less sticky.

Another Great Set of Chiaogoo Bamboo Circular Needles

I needed a size 6 circular knitting needle to make a cowl/shawl for my granddaughter. I could have ordered from amywhere, but knew I wanted to order from Alpaca Direct because of the quality of the needles and the speed of the service. Alpaca Direct got them into the mail almost immediately. I live at the other end of the country, but can always count on speedy processing times from Alpaca Direct. Thank you!

Bamboo circular knitting needles

I personally prefer the Bamboo Circular Knitting Needles. My favorite brand is HiyaHiya, second is Chiaogoo. I find that the bamboo needles are lighter and move quickly and smoothly. For me they are more comfortable and less cumbersome. I don't have issues with the cord tangling. I have metal ones that I never use. Yes I will buy more of the Chiaogoo brand.

I actually thought I had ordered bamboo but definitely received chiaogoo metal needles and thought maybe I just misorderes (prone to happen with this mom brain!). It wasn’t until I got this email asking to review my bamboo needles that I realized, ohhh I DID order bamboo needles after all! I’ll use the metal needles anyway, but good to know I wasn’t going crazy!

Great needles for shaping

I had been looking for short tip 18 to 20 inch circulars for a project that requires quite a lot of shaping. I looked online and could not find what I wanted so I called customer service at Alpaca Direct and got a very helpful agent who was able to measure the actual needles I was looking at. I ordered and got them in a timely manner. The Chaigoo needles are excellent and have made the project very easy. I prefer not using bamboo needles but these are great and the connectors are very flexible. Yes, I would buy them again!

Sharp needle point tips, not blunt tips as shown

ChiaoGoo needles are usually great! I got the correct size, but I didn't receive what is shown. I realize the image is a generic picture (no size printed on the bamboo like on the physical item), but I expected blunt tips like in the image. Instead, the tips are needle point sharp and hurt my fingers while knitting socks. I need the grippiness of bamboo, but don't need holes in my fingers. Trying to decide if I can snip off the very ends and sand them down without ruining them, or if I should just go ahead and buy another brand like Clover. :(

Well built sturdy circular needle

The current lifestyle isn't interested in actually making something beautiful; and useful. All attention focused mind numbing video games and on the social media swamp. Knitting is becoming a lost art, so the only tools for creation are increasingly poor quality wood. Good quality metal knitting needles are becoming hard to fine. These are incomparable for value and longevity. Extra value in multiple sizes and lengths available.

Not used these yet as whave too many projects started at the moment, and need to finish them. The connections seem smooth and secure, which has been the issue with some other brands.

These needles are great! I was worried about the metal catching on yarn, but where the metal and bamboo connect is virtually seamless! Bamboo needles are my go-to for projects, they hold on to yarn much better than metal needles and are more comfortable to work with.

I’m quite happy with these needles. Once I dunked the cable in boiling water, it stayed “unkinked.” The needles are a comfortable length, and just grabby enough to hold on to my somewhat slippery yarn. The join is smooth; my stitches slide easily from the cable to the needle. Good purchase!
