The reason I think this is a really great product is because it's a game changer for any tea lover out there! It's stylish design is just the cherry on top of a long list of amazing features. First off, the keep warm function is a real lifesaver for those of us who are constantly on-the-go. And don't even get me started on how easy it is to clean! The only thing that could make this product even better is more color options - but that's just me being picky. Overall, I'm in love! Oh and did I ...

I am the only tea drinker in my house so I thought the compact would be a great choice for me. Honey I feel like Breville is just trying to pull a fast one on customers with the compact. The basket is half the quality of the one that goes with the full size. My friend has the full size and not only is the basket all metal vs plastic bottom, but size of the holes in the basket are much smaller so you don’t lose half of your tea while it brews. The quality of the basket for the compact is subpar. This annoying, cheap, and flawed basket Issue could be rectified by purchasing a replacement basket, however, Breville only offers a replacement that fits the full size. (I tried my friend’s.) my recommendation would be to purchase the full size if you are a loose leaf tea drinker and/or if you don’t want a bunch of plastic being heated and reheated in your tea. I’m sure this was Brevilles plan-have customers buy the full size rather than take care of their customers equally no matter what product they purchase.

I love this! I previously purchased the Breville full sized Tea Maker. But being the only tea drinker in my house, it didnt work out well to make just a cup or two. When I saw they created a smaller size, I bought it immediately. And I dont regret it. Its perfect for smaller portions. And I think tea tastes better made in the Breville Tea Makers because it brews the tea at the right temp throughout the whole steeping process. Ive read a complaint that says you cant make tea when you fill the pot all the way up because the tea sits in the water before the right temp is reached. Well you arent supposed to do that. The directions clearly say the boil water limit is higher than the make tea limit. Its clearly marked on the pot where the min and max tea lines are and the ... MoreI love this! Overall I love it and wish they had made this one in the first place so I wouldnt have bought the larger size.
I have been buying tea leaves in tins and bags for a long time. I never learned to enjoy coffee. For a long time I drank bad tea made from bags. And I steeped them wrong! The tea that I steeped from leaves often had too much tannin or bitterness. I didn't get green tea at all. Then my daughter bought me the Breville tea maker. I blame myself for being too lazy all these years to get the timings and the temperatures right. I spent good money on tea and teapots. For less than optimal results. Once I had the Breville Tea Maker, I found out why. Suddenly black teas had strong but not overpowering flavor. Oolong reminded me of what oolong was supposed to taste like. Green tea now had a special flavor, as did the Pai-Mu-Tan I had been so hit and miss with previously. ... MoreI have been buying tea leaves in tins and bags for a long time. Oolong reminded me of what oolong was supposed to taste like. Green tea now had a special flavor, as did the Pai-Mu-Tan I had been so hit and miss with previously. Every day I make 800 ml of tea. It takes a few minutes. I could do the same thing with the thermometers and Pyrex measuring cups and filters and tea pots I already have, but I never did it regularly because it was too much trouble. If you love tea, and you can afford to splurge on this device, get it. Or get your daughter to buy it for you.
I agree with Becky's review completely so won't rewrite it. We had the larger original tea maker 800XL for years but finally died and decided to replace with smaller unit as only my husband drinks tea. I have phoned and emailed Breville and same response, nothing can be done. I have used cut up disposable tea bag filters but today tea leaves all over the place! I am sure they went to plastic to reduce weight and strain on lifting magnet given smaller size, the infuser model was not an option for us, but come on, do design engineers not drink tea? I cannot return since it does work and Breville would only exchange for same model. Come on Breville you make quality products, we need a new basket. Pay a little more and stick to the original full size maker, well worth ... MoreI agree with Becky's review completely so won't rewrite it. I've been very happy with my new tea mate. Its ease of use is a joy; even my 5-year-old can make a cup of tea with this. The clear water level indicator and adjustable temperature settings are simple yet effective features. The quiet operation is a huge plus for those early mornings. The removable filter and large capacity are cherries on top. In short, it's affordable, easy to use, and whisper-quiet. A perfect companion for a tea lover.
The Breville Tea Maker Compact is a game-changer for tea lovers like myself. The auto start feature makes mornings so much easier, and the adjustable temperature ensures that my tea is always brewed perfectly. The large capacity is also a huge plus. As for improvements, I do agree that the build quality could be improved and filling the water tank could be easier, but those minor issues don't detract from the overall excellence of this product. Highly recommend!
My feedback is really positive because of the ease of use. As a non-tea drinker, I was initially hesitant, but this gadget turned the tide. My mom, a veteran tea drinker, found it amazing and beyond easy to operate. Now, nobody can resist a good cuppa! Cheers to Breville for this splendid creation.
I like the fact that this is a smaller version of the original automatic tea maker. It is a more practical way for one person to brew tea. Its compact size also works better on the kitchen counter. It is an attractive looking appliance. Even brewing for a full five minutes, the tea is on the weaker side. This is particularly true if you use tea bags and not loose tea in the basket. This probably has to do with the minimal agitation of the tea leaves when the basket slowly descends and lifts. Of course real tea is brewed by pouring boiling water into a pot of tea leaves. This method is closer to dunking a tea bag in hot water. Also the basket would be better to be full stainless steel mesh and not mostly plastic. The latter has lips and ridges that make it quite ... MoreI like the fact that this is a smaller version of the original automatic tea maker. It is a more practical way for one person to brew tea. Of course real tea is brewed by pouring boiling water into a pot of tea leaves. This method is closer to dunking a tea bag in hot water. Also the basket would be better to be full stainless steel mesh and not mostly plastic. The latter has lips and ridges that make it quite difficult to wash out spent tea leaves. There is no timer on the smaller carafe version which would have been nice. I was hoping to be able to set it up the night before for automatic tea in the morning. Another design error is the fact that the bottom of the tea basket will sit in the water when you fill the carafe to the full 4 cups. This causes the tea to start leaching out. This could have been prevented by having the basket position only a few millimeters higher. The solution is to not fill the carafe to the full 4 cup line. This seems like a silly oversight. Time will tell how this works out practically and if the mechanism will endure.
