Good iron - great quality.

First thing I noticed about this iron was that it was really well made - it is heavy, my wife thinks it's a bit too bulky, but for me it was perfect. It does exactly what is expected for an iron and I haven't had to use the steam hardly at all because it irons really well. We live in a hard water area so it has a handy feature that where it collects the limescale, which I hope will mean it lasts longer than our previous iron.I had read some reviews that said the lead was too short but to be honest it's the same as our previous one and didn't cause us any problems.Overall a great product and we have no complaints whatsoever.

On first impressions this has sleek lines and is on a cool blue. It is a powerful 2800w, so 400w more than my current model so my first thought is can I iron quicker to save electricity? It glided over my washing with ease, and the narrower tip made navigating around the shirt buttons simple enough. I did make use of the steam setting and the cotton (30 setting) for a pair of jeans, and it was effortless. It has the Standard spray button on the handle, and a 250g steam boost but I didn’t need either within the washing I needed to iron whilst testing but it is better to had for stubborn creases than not. The 50g/minute steam setting was sufficient for the load, and the tank having a larger capacity was certainly a benefit than needing to refill part way through. It took quite a while for the iron to cool down afterwards before putting it away – you can wrap the cord around the base (but unfortunately no plastic clip to hold the cord in place). What I don’t like is the fact there’s 4 leaflets. All of them have over a dozen languages so you need to find the English. One is the guarantee , the User manual is only images and hardly any words. There are two leaflets that look identical that have a warning about the ‘Quick Calc” system. I found this the most frustrating aspect of this appliance. Older users may find this overwhelming. For example, there’s an “eco” mode, but I found no details or explanation other than to use on silks. Similarly, no explanation about the “Quick Calc” system. It took a while before I spotted you need to check every 3 months. If I was rating this purely on the literature/instructions, it would get a thumbs down! As it is I did find the Philips Azur iron pleasant and reasonably easy to use for everyday use.

Great crease free performance.

The Philips steam iron looks good and ironed really well, it glided smoothly over all my clothes, thanks to the SteamGlide Plus sole plate with enhanced scratch resistance. It has a large 300 ml water tank, that was really easy to fill from my kitchen tap, which lasted throughout my ironing pile and did not drip out at all.The dial is large and easy to use, has a setting for extra steam boost if you need it or no steam. Great iron but would love a longer cord
3 September 2023

This iron is definitely an upgrade on my previous model , it doesn’t take any effort to iron over and the results are very quick , I love that it comes with an easy to use dial to pick the type of material you will be ironing so the temperature is preset and won’t risk ruining your item you are ironing. It comes with a 2m length of cord which a little shorter than my previous model but it’s not a big issue just depends on your socket location. It is very comfortable to hold and has a very nice stainless steel soleplate which is also scratch resistant, there is a yellow box at the bottom that you can remove , this is the Quick Calc descaler to make it easier to clean your iron.It also has Drip-stop to prevent water drops marking your clothing, it’s a really great ... MoreThis iron is definitely an upgrade on my previous model , it doesn’t take any effort to iron over and the results are very quick , I love that it comes with an easy to use dial to pick the type of material you will be ironing so the temperature is preset and won’t risk ruining your item you are ironing. It comes with a 2m length of cord which a little shorter than my previous model but it’s not a big issue just depends on your socket location. It is very comfortable to hold and has a very nice stainless steel soleplate which is also scratch resistant, there is a yellow box at the bottom that you can remove , this is the Quick Calc descaler to make it easier to clean your iron.It also has Drip-stop to prevent water drops marking your clothing, it’s a really great iron that does the job , you don’t need a fancy iron with all those things you never use, this is a great iron with the brand you can trust.

Great performance
15 November 2023

This is a good quality solid (not flimsy or cheap feel) iron. It looks and feels modern. The water tank is much bigger than the norm so it needs less filling up during a big load of ironing. It would of been nice to have a separate water cup to help fill up but the opening of the tank is big enough to put directly under my tap. It's handy that the water tank is clear so I can keep an eye on the water level. The length of the cord is good and the large temperature dial is easy to navigate. I'm please with the steam output and how easily the iron glides on the garments and easily removes creases to a very good standard making ironing quicker and easier. The overall performance is great.

Great quality iron !
15 November 2023

The Philips Azur steam iron has a modern, slick design in two tone colours. Initially I found it quite heavy compared to my previous model but it has a steam glide plus sole plate which makes ironing easier and faster . There is a sharp pointed end on the sole plate that is useful when it comes to ironing around buttons.. It has a larger than average water tank of 300ml ,enabling you to iron more before needing to refill. I did however miss having a jug provided. There are variable settings including the added bonus of a vertical steam feature which allows you to iron garments whilst on a hanger so it has made my steamer redundant. So far I’m extremely impressed with the performance of this iron and hope the durability can match up.

Lightweight and does a good job.
16 September 2023

In my busy house of six, it feels as though I'm Cindy ironing shirts and trousers for school and work uniform so it's good to have an iron that is lightweight and comfortable to hold. This Philips steam iron is just that. It's light so my arm doesn't feel tired after using it and the grip and control is easygoing. I would say the placement of the settings underneath the handle is an issue as I found that I would catch my fingers on it when setting the iron down, thus changing the temperature setting. The iron is easy to fill with ironing water and has variable steam setting. I leave this setting in the middle as it does the job well. Creases are no more and there's no burn or heat marks left on the clothing. It's a good iron.

Makes ironing easy and quickly
2 September 2023

This is a great iron and a premium quality brand. It is so simple to use, very easy to fill up the water tank and heats up within seconds, so you can start ironing straight away. What I also like about the tank is that it is clear so I can notice when it is running low on water so that I can top it up. This is very helpful for me as I like to always use the steam mode when I iron. The iron itself is very light, even when filled up with water, it glides so easily and I can quickly iron my clothes in half the time as just one glide and the fabric is ironed so I do not have to keep repeating on the same spot of material to get the creases out. Even with the heavy creased linen fabric it irons it quickly. The cord is the right size for me personally as too long cords ... MoreThis is a great iron and a premium quality brand. It is so simple to use, very easy to fill up the water tank and heats up within seconds, so you can start ironing straight away.
