I have to take 1200mg of calcium per day due to medication I am on. I bought the citrical plus because it is such a well known brand. I have spent good money over bad money on calcium supplements and have had such a difficult time finding one I could tolerate. Well this was no different. They are quite costly when you consider a daily dose is 4 caps per day. They are also quite large which is not good if someone has a hard time swallowing and within 15 minutes of taking them I feel sick for almost two hours. So basically every morning I am feeling ill till lunch and then I'm feeling ill for bedtime too. Save your money and just buy a brand name ant-acid which is dirt cheap and is literally calcium.

Citracal has always been the most trustworthy calcium product ever! I must take calcium; however, due to a digestion issue my doctor strongly recommended a Calcium CITRATE supplement and not a Calcium Carbonate. Carbonate can cause similar side effects has carbonation. My previous doctor had not informed me of this and when I switched to Carbonate, it made a huge difference! I have always bought Citracal which was the first brand to offer calcium with carbonate.

I have severe Osteoporosis/Osteopenia. I was buying other calcium supplements until my doctor told me that they did not have the ingredient in them as this one that my body needs. It is a bit pricey but I have no choice because I really don't want to take the risk in breaking a bone since mine is severe. I would absolutely recommend this and would buy it again.

Excellent!
5 January 2022

I’ve been waiting for months to become available again on Iherb. I’m switching from Caltrate to Citracal because calcium citrate has better absorption than calcium carbonate. The tablet is slightly bigger than Caltrate but looks less densed. Anyhow, I don’t have problem swallowing it.

Per advice, I'm supposed to get 1000-1200mg of calcium and 800-1000IU of vitamin D daily. However, just noted that each serving (2 caplets) of "Maximum Plus +D3" is already come with 1000IU of D3 but just 650mg of calcium, in which the direction is to take one serving twice daily, that means will have a total of 2000IU of D3 and 1300mg of calcium already. I'm unsure the impact in gaining extra calcium and vitamin D3 based on the calculation. I'm also a hiker hence believe can also gain natural D3 outside.

Get the Viactiv Chews Instead - Better Deal
1 July 2023

These pills are huge and you have to take 2 of them, twice per day, thats 4 pills total! So your "180" pills only gets you 45 days since you have to take 4 of them per day. Switch to the Viactiv Milk chocolate Calcium chews. They taste amazing and even though you only need two per day to get your total calcium, you'll want more! Plus, they are $10 for 100 chews, and since you need 2 chews per day, thats $10 for 50 days of vitamins. Way better deal than these Citracal calcium pills which are $15 for 45 days.

Packaging came intact. Tablets were small enough to be easily swallowed with no unpleasant taste. I bought it because the ingredients appeared to be of good quality and so far it hasn't disappointed. This is my first time buying this product. Given the calcium dosage per tablet, I would suggest that you split the serving into two. Will update after I have consumed it over a longer period.

Great supplement.
11 June 2022

This is a digestible supplement with supportive vitamins and minerals to insure absorption. These extra ingredients with an absorbable form of calcium help get the most out of this supplement, especially if you have digestive problems like I have. I feel Citrical Maximum Plus is the best, most effective product to provide the extra calcium I need.

Leave packages out of street view please

I liked that she placed the package gently, rather than throwing it down. But I didn’t like that she placed it in plain view for someone to take. I would appreciate it if she would leave packages under the doorbell where it is not seen from the street.

My favorite choice
11 August 2022

For calcium supplement, I prefer citrate and not carbonate. I only take 2 caplets a day and it is fine for my minimal calcium needs. Although I have looked at many options, in the end I always buy this brand, this size.
