It's Clairefontaine in a softcover a5 notebook. It's up to the usual brand (high) standards, and this was a great deal. I like that the pages are numbered, but I could do without the title/date at the top of every page. But that's a minor quibble at best.

It's an okay notebook. The paper is nice enough, a bit better than Rhodia (a company Clairfontaine owns), but there are better options. The pages lay somewhat flat without too much effort. The price isn't terrible. So... it's just an "okay" notebook for an "okay" price.To be more specific about the paper, it doesn't bleed or feather with any inks I've used on it, but I also avoid nasty inks like Noodler's. It's reasonably smooth, but it does tug on my nibs in an unpleasant way.I do with the line spacing was a bit smaller.

These are useful in the classroom or a boardroom. I use them for both, they can make a difference if you use them regularly. I like the top part so you can date when you wrote down whatever note is taken. It's a friendly reminder to date whatever you write. The paper is smooth and the soft cover feels nice.

I wish the paper was white and not ivory, but the paper is perfect. Doesn't bleed though with my fountain pens, has a front index and numbered pages. I also wish there was a dot version. Still the best notebook/ journal on the market IMHO

These notebooks are great for use with fountain pens, or any pens. Nice, high quality binding and cream paper that has good qualities in response to ink, while not taking too long to dry. A table of contents in the front of the book with more than one line per page following, numbered pages, and an elastic strap to keep everything together, and a small pocket in the front and back inside cover. Great design, great paper, and a very happy customer.These notebooks are great for archival purposes, the only thing they would not handle well is the person who requires a notebook to have easily removable pages.

An absolutely lovely notebook. It has a heavier feel than many others, particularly the cover, which is duplexed cardstock, fairly heavily textured and very slightly mottled to resemble leather. Inside the paper is a nice heavy 90gsm with a wonderful smooth feel, both to the touch and writing. Lines are very much dark enough to use, but not distracting. If you're on the fence about this one by all means buy it. My only real complaint is that it is a little hard to get the pages to lie flat when open, probably because of the heavier paper weight. This isn't awful, but if having a notebook lie open on its own is super important that is something you should know.

Handles most pen/ink combos I throw at it. Only a little bleeding with really broad nibs. Super solid lined option if you want cream paper

This is one of my first fountain pen specific notebooks and definitely my favorite. My other purchases were not so well informed and the information located on the JetPens site was extremely helpful in making my decision. The paper is just the right tooth for my liking; which is a smoother feel, and virtually no show through. It's truly a pleasure to write in.

Great notebook

I've been using Clairefontaine My Essential notebooks for several years now, and I love them. Paper is great - takes my fountain pens well, with no bleeding, and my regular pens as well. I like the yellow tinge to the pages. The notebooks are reasonably robust, and are still remarkably intact despite everyday use, and being transported in my back pack each day. Recommended.

Notebook of quality!

Only just discovered Clairefontaine notebooks. Stunning paper manufactured by Clairefontaine is a joy to write on and doesn’t bleed even when using a fountain pen. My new favourite notebooks.
