Clif Bars have been around forever, and it's easy to see why - these are a go-to snack for athletes, students, and anyone seeking a quick, convenient breakfast or a mid-day pick-me-up. Made with organic rolled oats and real white chocolate chips, this is a great-tasting snack that reminds me of a healthier version of one of those Costco white chocolate macadamia nut cookies - it's soft and chewy, with a white chocolate drizzle and big hunks of white chocolate! Unfortunately, the nutrition facts on this bar are little better than a well-made cookie: the second ingredient on the ingredients list is organic brown rice syrup, and there are 16 grams of added sugar in this bar! While the brand touts that this is a good source of protein, there are only 9 grams, so this definitely doesn't qualify as a protein bar, especially when compared to the calorie count of 260 calories per 1 68-gram bar. With these macros, this is a higher-calorie and lower-protein flavor among the Clif bars. I do like how there are 5 grams of fiber, although it comes from chicory fiber, which can upset some peoples' stomachs. It's not the most filling snack out there, but would pair nicely with some healthy fats to make it more satiating, as well as additional protein in the form of yogurt or another protein source. I can generally get a 12-pack for around $15 on Amazon (though they're on sale right now for $11.87 for a 12-pack!), which is pretty affordable as far as energy bars go, and they'll occasionally go on sale at my local Costco for around $1 a bar! Overall, this definitely isn't a protein bar, nor is it that "healthy" of an option, but I think that this is a great energy-packed snack that's great for an on-the-go sort of meal, and it's one of the few bars out there that's still relatively cheap - this is one of the best Clif Bar flavors, and I'll continue to buy it for a convenient snack!

BEEN EATING CLIFBARS SINCE 1996, AND FROM 2005-2008 THEY BASICALLY KEPT ME FROM STARVING TO DEATH AS THE ONLY NUTRIRION THAT WAS ANY GOOD DURING A VERY HARD TIME. I ACTUALLY LIKE THE COOL CHOCOLATE MINT BUT CAN'T HAVE HARDLY ANY CHOCOLATE, NOR MINT SINCE I'M ALERGIC TO MINT AND CHOCOLATE. THE NUMBER ONE FLAVOR THROUGH THE YEARS IN MY BOOK IS BLUEBERRY CRISP. JUST WISH MORE SELECTION WAS AVAILABLE LIKE CARROT CAKE, APRICOT, OLD FASHINED EUROPEAN PEMICAN, CLIF TRAILMIX, TO NAME A FEW OF THE DISCONTINUED SELECTIONS, WHICH ALL SOLD LIKE HOTCAKES, SO IT'S PUZZLING WHY THOSE ARE ONE WHILE BORING CHOCOLATE IS STILL AROUND GATHERING DUST? AND WHERE'S THE NUTS IN WHITE CHOCOLATE MACADAMIA NUTS FLAVOR?

Clif-Bar Energy bar range is always been my favourite due to its taste. Most importantly, it's a energy-dense bar for its dimension (68 g a piece, opposed to 35-50 g/piece from competitor brands) which fits nicely in food/gel pockets in trail and ultra running vests and back pockets in cycling jersey. On the top of great points I mentioned above, mint chocolate flavours in Clif-Bar energy bar range is heat-stable - bars will not turn into brown puddle upon extended exposure to heat and sunlight, thus making in very messy to eat on the go. Dumped with dark/brown chocolate flavour in energy bar market in general, Mint Chocolate flavour adds variety of energy bar with chocolate flavour and set apart from the rest.

All flavours of Clif Bars are all around amazing, with enough variety between flavours to keep you interested. They're not too dry so that you feel the need for fluids with them, though I would recommend doing so if you leave less than 15 minutes between eating the bar and your workout/race. They're a great source of energy (especially the caffeinated mint flavour) and quite filling. Great price right now at The Feed ($ 0.99 per bar!)
I used to eat Clif bars back in the day (early 2010s) as a main cycling nutrition. They were good but sometimes a chore to eat, especially when tired.I started back up with them at the start of pandemic and they have drastically improved. Softer texture, more consistent bites are the main improvements.I particularly like the Mint Chocolate with caffeine and the blueberry almond. I’ve mainly switched to running now and these are really good for pre-run breakfast or just changing it up from gels and waffles.
It seems after Mondelēz International bought CLIF, the quality of CLIF Bars has become inconsistent. For example, the Cool Mint bars manufactured after Date Code 31JAN23 W1 18 07C picked up a sour taste and became extremely dry. The bars with Date Codes15MAR23, 26APR23, and 21JUN23 were unusually bad. I would avoid them. Now I only buy individual bars at the grocery store and get only 2 or 3. If they're a lousy Date Code batch, I stop buying them until my store puts out a new Date Code batch. Gone are the days I buy them in boxes of 12. Too bad. I shouldn't have to keep track of product Date Codes! Come on, Mondelēz International, you can do better.
Clif bar has really come around. They no longer taste like the hard blocks that I remember from my past. Now filled with organic, clean ingredients and plenty of carbs (and a little protein) to enjoy pre workout or exercise if I don’t feel like eating a meal. They’re great on the go - energy in a small package and tasty to boot!Peanut butter is my favorite flavor but I’ll take just about any of them.
I'm just a huge fan of chocolate mint in general-- so it was delightful to find these choco-mint Clif bars. They are pretty small and have lots of sugar, but they don't have any artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols, stevia, monkfruit, or any of those other sugars that taste absolutely horrible. Just good classic sugar and oatmeal and other normal ingredients. I don't think these are high protein, but they are very good for a fast breakfast or a carb-heavy snack when walking all day, blood sugar dips, etc. And I really can't complain at all about the flavor.
I have had this Clif Bar variety in recent years and it was quite good. I bought a handful of them from The Feed this year and I have to say, this product from Clif Bar supports my feeling that Clif has declined significantly in quality over the past few years. When I opened the first one, I was taken aback at the bar presenting as just a plain burnt orange blob of processed oats. I remember this bar having an icing on it in the past so I thought maybe I just received a one-off bad-product bar. Well, turned out that every bar I received was the same bland experience. I'm disappointed that a Clif Bar that I used to look forward to each fall is now not even worth giving a second thought.
