I've tried most of the flavors and I keep coming back to the chocolate. When the bars are fresh they have a good texture, nice balance of crispy rice and chewy ... whatever it is above, and the outer chocolate taste is very good. It can have a tiny bit of powdery aftertaste to it, but all things considered I still like them very much. I definitely like them more than any other brand of protein bar. I find that I go to them to get my chocolate bar fix sometimes also, which beats a candy bar by a long shot.

When I'm on the go and don't have the capacity to pack a prepped meal (no access to fridge or luggage etc) - These bars have a greta macro split so that you can feel satisfied with a well balanced meal. 2. OR as an alternative to dessert- which I why I LOVE the chocolate Clif Builders Bar! It tastes like a mix between a crispy cookie and a chewy chocolate bar I am Gluten Free so my husband usually doesn't dive into my GF snacks as he usually finds them "less than impressive". I offered him a bite when I first purchased them and this is where I went wrong. My advice is DON'T SHARE! I think I have 2 left in the entire box as clearly they are "husband approved" too! haha

I love the Builder's Protein Bars in general. The combination of high protein and lower glycemic index carbohydrates makes it a perfect meal for me. I eat one for breakfast every day. My normal go-to flavor is Vanilla Almond which is my favorite among the choices. Cinnamon Nut Swirl is a close 2nd. Recently, both of these were out-of-stock and I was forced to choose alternatives. I don't eat peanut flavors, so the options were Chocolate and Cookies N Cream. Both are really chocolate flavors and both are good, but neither holds a candle to the non-chocolate flavors above, which in my opinion aren't as dry in texture/taste. Really glad I found these. They are just the right amount of filling for me. I'll use them when on the go or prior to workout and sometimes post workout. I'm bummed they discontinued the Sweet & Salty line but these are solid.
I was a bit hesitant about this chocolate bar but I have it a whirl. I have to admit, loving the blueberry almond crisp as much as I do, I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised! I'm not a big fan of "chocolate" bars but this has the right amount of crunch to it and the chocolate seemed high quality. Honestly, a bit too much chocolate for me but I would buy a pack to change things up every-so-often.
I honestly probably will not buy these very often because I would just eat them as a snack, they are pretty good! They are slightly dry/chalky which is typical for a protein bar so it didn't bother me at all. The bar is pretty big but not too heavy/filling which I like because I don't like to feel full right before or after working out. I also like the different layers inside because it adds a little bit of crunch to the chewy nature that most protein bars have and I thought the chocolate coating tasted good as well. Not super sugary or flavorful tasting, but still good and I would eat it again. Also love that it was gluten and dairy free!
I loved these very tasty and very satisfying. I didn't eat the whole bar at once because I am only using as a snack after lunch and wanted something more filling. Must admit though I did go back for more when they first arrived. They are soft enough little bit chewy but not that you would break your teeth or loose a crown (which has happened to me with a different bar) not chemical tasting. This is working for me now I feel more satisfied and I like that I am getting extra protein as well.
Stay clear if you think by eating these, you are doing yourself any favors in terms of weight loss. Yes, they are packed with energy for those who need it an hour or two before a workout but otherwise, this is just a candy bar with protein.Do not be fooled by organic ingredients because when you list at least five sources of sugar as ingredients, no matter whether they are organic or not, it's still sugar. If you are watching your weight, there are better ways to get 20 grams of protein. I think Clif Bar can do better. Cut the sugar down and enough with the syrups as ingredients. You aren't fooling the likes of me!
I have had a bunch of protein bars before and never had any issues. I heard about builders and wanted to try them since there isn't a ton of unnecessary ingredients. O boy, big mistake. I am writing this review, in my gym-on the toilet. I had the chocolate builders bar last night and felt the wrath twice already. I ran to the bathroom of my gym and literally fart-sprayed onto the toilet like I never have before. I am completely embarrassed and disgusted. I have NEVER had these issues even with their normal original CLIF line. I really suggest staying away from this one--not sure why my body is reacting the way it is with this horrible diarrhea.
