Not only does it calm redness on contact, but it also reduces oiliness, even throughout the day with no touch ups. As others have pointed out, it does have a yellowish tinge I got the calming alabaster and I have extremely fair skin. However, the yellow tint is what partially covers the redness. Also, if you apply the foundation with a foundation brush, you can get the coverage more even and less thick, which reduces the yellow tone. Once I evenly cover my face, it no longer appears yellow, just even in tone. The foundation is fairly thick, so I really do recommend using a foundation brush rather than just fingers. The brush allows you to more evenly and lightly disperse the product over your face and neck.Additionally, ever since using this product, my acne has cleared up more, and I no longer get itchy, irritated skin during the day like I used to.Overall, this is the best makeup Ive ever tried, and its well worth the money, even if the bottle is fairly small. I will definitely purchase again and I am recommending it to my mother

It doesn't clog up in any creases, doesn't make my skin look crepey and covers up uneven skin tone, without looking heavy or overdone.I don't need to use a lot and a light application looks really natural. If I want a really no make up look I will mix a small amount with DD moisturiser, looks good! The cream chamois is the best colour for my paler winter complexion and as the summer comes I will blend another shade with it to build up to a warmer summer look.I like the convenient tube size especially good for travelling, have never had a leakage in my make up bag and can just squeeze a very small amount out if I want to ... MoreI started using this product when it was first launched and have been faithful to it ever since.Quite simply it is the best for my mature skin. I didn't like the full coverage DW because it was too heavy, and I didn't like the Futurist it was too light and seemed to settle in my lines. After reading the reviews for Clinique Even Better and seeing how many color options they had I went to the counter to give it a try. I think I like it better than the DW Light, plus it has SPF and is at a lower price point!

Good Everyday Foundation

I found it really hard to figure out what shade to buy since they all look so similar in my shade range, but I don't think I made a bad guess. Out of the foundations I've bought lately, this is the best match. Usually I have the problem that the foundation is too dark and/or orange for me, and this one doesn't cause those issues for me. It also doesn't irritate my skin... I love and use many Clinique products for that reason. I have dry skin, so I wish this was a touch more moisturizing, but it's definitely not bad at all and I will likely repurchase. I typically use a serum (Sunday Riley vitamin C), Clinique's yellow cream, then Clinique City Block underneath this. The coverage goes a long way and it's quite buildable. I don't have a lot to cover, so this makeup is good for my needs. It doesn't feel super heavy at all, but it also has a bit of substance to it so a little goes a long way. I'll sometimes accidentally squeeze out a little too much and it then takes me a while to blend/rub it all in (especially around my hairline), but the finish is really nice... sort of a soft matte and nice and natural. The extra SPF in here is a bonus that makes me happy!

I'm actually happier than I thought I'd be

My skin since turning 28 had developed a texture like newspaper with no ink. I think it's because of the Melbourne weather/recycled air environments/not the best diet but it did mean I needed a better quality foundation than what I have been using. My skin is fairly dry, I have under eye bags, a bit of discoloration around my cheeks but a fairly even skin tone and the first hints of fine lines. So if this doesn't sound like you this review is not for you. If your skin is oily or you live in humid sweaty environments or have heavy wrinkles or lots of discoloration or acne you'll probably give the foundation a bad review.I was a little tentative as I was concerned the SPF would make the texture awful to blend and knew I'd be using it for mostly inside but really ... MoreMy skin since turning 28 had developed a texture like newspaper with no ink. I was pleasantly surprised. Cheap brands made me look wrinkled and caused excess fine lines that look so bad I had been avoiding foundation all together and just going with blemishes and pimples instead as people had been mistaking my age by up to 8 years.Clinique diminished them with the same consistency as a good moisturiser. The other pleasant surprise was that it almost made my under eye bags disappear. It doesn't smell bad either. A fairly plain pleasant smell like a non scented cream, not that make-upy cakey smell.Coverage was also nice and very even and light though I hadn't blended properly.I put four stars because choosing a colour online is a disaster. I wonder how much money Clinique makes from people buying 2-3 different colours. I suggest if you aren't going to colour match or get advice go about 3- 6 shades lighter than what you think you need. Although the price point is reasonable the bottle is quite small and the texture is just that touch dry.

Nice foundation at a good price

I was a huge fan of Clinique foundations in the past but strayed to other brands for a while. The quality is still excellent and the price is good in comparison. I tried some samples for colour matching in store then purchased from Look Fantastic for a better price. There were a great range of shades available so easy to get a good match. The consistency provides just the right amount of medium coverage for my mature skin, it covers imperfections without being heavy. I’m a big fan of Look Fantastic, I’ve used them for a few years now, the delivery is always very prompt and the discounts and promotions make the prices much better than elsewhere. OMG! I have to be totally honest here… I’ve purchased this twice in the past three years or so… I always returned it. I could not get it to look right; it emphasized lines and wrinkles and was not looking good on my face whatsoever! Well, I have been searching for another foundation for two years and I have been through probably 30 different foundations… So after speaking with the Sephora employee, she was telling me that more often than not with the Clinique, it’s user error and not the actual foundation! She made sure to tell me to only use a little bit at a time… I thought I would try it again out of total desperation in my search for the perfect foundation. I am overly joyed and I am just in awe of the beauty of the look of this foundation. Are used probably 3P sized drops on each cheek and started to blend and that's basically all I needed! If there were a lot of freckles are age spots on my cheeks, that I wanted a little more coverage, I took just one or two drops and applied it over my cheeks with the beauty blender. I did also pick up some Bobby Brown pressed powder that I put on top not a whole lot, it's just padded enough in, and my skin is not smooth at all, without any make up on it! My husband even commented that my face looked absolutely wonderful, and wanted to know what I changed! I am telling you, please, if you have not tried this, give it another shot and don't use a whole lot! I'm 55 and I have severe health issues, so the only thing that I have that I can do is my make up and I do that every day, unless I am very very ill and cannot do so.It makes me feel pretty when I still do my make up and I'm always in search for that perfect one… I hope, and I think that I found it! This foundation truly is, more than beautiful! My skin is so dry that I never use powder, but I had the BB pressed powder I got an ipsy bag and I thought I would try it… Together along with my Smashbox photo finish primer I'm great! The Best Product on the Market

I cannot say enough good things about this product. This is the best foundation I've ever tried, and I have used everything from clean to luxury to professional. It's true that this foundation really does look like your skin but "even better," it corrects redness and dark spots, and can be built up to offer pretty full coverage. It doesn't have a pump so you can really control how much product you use, and I find myself needing half the amount I would with a different foundation. It's so easy to blend so I apply with my fingers and it still looks amazing. I always reach for this when I want all-day wear or if I just want my skin to look amazing. Great for events, photos, everything. It would really well as a base for your other face makeup and I never feel like I ... MoreI cannot say enough good things about this product. Too thick, weird coverage

My skin- combo/very oily with both light wrinkling (I'm 37) and adult acne (PCOS), with recurring dry patches around my nostrils and above my chin.Even for medium coverage foundation, this formula felt too thick. Although I didn't break out, it was visibly clogging/blocking my pores. It made any dryness I had worse, but it handled my oil okay as long as I used my blotting sheets regularly. I only used it 4-5 times to get a good sense of it, and I could tell I would go through it way too fast.It blended around the edge of my face okay, but blurring resulted in a patchy coverage effect. I am SUPER pale olive (it's real, look it up - common in people of Northern European descent) so almost all available foundations look too orange, pink, or yellow on me. I settled on 0.75 Custard for the tone, but it was a shade or so too light. The darker options were a clearly way too orange.Hopefully this info is helpful. This bottle is definitely going back.

Even though this foundation has been around for many years, I just got around to trying it. My absolute favorite, most perfect foundation is Estee Lauder Double Wear, because it makes my skin look incredible and it lasts until I scrub it off. It also makes me look 20 years younger...so I tell myself.Like everyone else, I've been at home a lot more recently, or I've been doing many more casual activities. I noticed that my magical elixir Double Wear was not only too costly to be wasted while I battled with masks, but, also, a little too much "perfection" for everyday reality. It's possible to get a "no-makeup" look with Double Wear, but it's not easy because it is so exquisite. I have a terrible time finding foundation matches, and 3W1 Tawny has been my go-to for years. Recently I learned that Clinique's Golden Neutral is a match for 3W1 so I ddecided to try Even Better for an "everyday" or casual, or even "no makeup" look. Because it's not matte, I didn't like it at first. And it does not have that beautiful skin finish that Double Wear has. However, the shade match is what I'd hoped for (Clinique is slightly warmer, which is fine), but, at first, I wasn't crazy about the somewhat dewy finish on my skin. After the foundation sets, however, it does look quite "natural", and actually more "real" skin-like than the matte finish of Double Wear. Even Better could never replace Double Wear, but it is a good alternate, and it's nice that it costs $12.00 less than Double Wear. It's lightweight and comfortable, easy to apply, and it lasts for a few hours without getting greasy. It doesn't set on its own, and I'm not a fan of powder, so I've been using a setting spray that helps mattify it. I think I'm going to wind up using powder on my T-zone. Even Better, even with powder, still doesn't set to the level I'm used to with Double Wear, but it doesn't seem to rub off on anyone or anything. I like that it has SPF 15 for an additional layer over my SPF 46 sunscreen.
