Better than Prescription Products!

For me, this serum is much better and more effective than prescription retinoids. I have tried several prescription retinoids, and they all were too harsh for my skin, and my Dermatologist recommended over the counter retinols for my very sensitive skin. I am a long time Clinique user so I was thrilled when they came out with this advanced retinoid, which is a very effective retinaldehyde. I have been using it and have had great results. I had to do a gradual step up in frequency as with any retinoid - started once a week, and am now up to 3 times a week. I alternate with the Clinique Even Better Vitamin C products. My skin has been absolutely fantastic and I am going to be 70 in several months. Decent serum, not sure if a must-have

I tried out this serum together with the eye cream and regular cream from this same Clinique line. Everything in the line is fragrance-free and perfect for sensitive skin. They also blend more chemical ingredients with natural extracts. This serum, for example, in addition to containing retinol, also boasts caffeine, St. Paul's Wort, sunflower seed extract, cucumber, extract, algae extract, etc. I always appreciate when skincare companies try to incorporate these sorts of ingredients and it's particularly tricky when also ensuring the finished product is fragrance-free and won't irritate sensitive skin. Lucky for us, Clinique know what they're doing! It helped serve as a great base for the other two, but I'm not quite sure how necessary it is, as compared to a more affordable/basic serum. It may just be that it takes a lot more usage to see results (and I only used it for a few straight days). Be prepared to wear a sunscreen when using though, as it is a retinol product! I received a #freeproduct to test this serum. I did not receive a full size product, so my experience is limited to less than the expected length of time needed to see any effect on wrinkles. The serum itself is pretty nice because it is primarily using hyaluronic acid as the base and that is a proven moisturizer when it comes to skincare. Of course, I would advise layering a cream on top of the serum to seal things in and for maximum juiciness. The serum has some form of retinol, which, again, is another proven anti-aging ingredient. To me, this ingredient is what sets this serum aside from an average serum as I can't think of any other one that has a retinol in it. I believe the problem here might be that it is combined with vitamin C (that is at a higher concentration, which might contribute to deeper penetration of the retinol), and that the formula does not contain much oils making it immediately accessible for the skin, rather than being a more time-release formula. This would have been preferred when one uses actives like retinol.Clinique Smart Night Clinical MD Multi-Dimensional Repair Treatment Night Cream (in the purple tube) is a superior formulation where all this is taken into consideration and the product is virtually non-irritating but delivers results overtime. If your skin is sensitive, this is a safer option.Due to the horrible experience I have encountered with this product, I will naturally not repurchase or recommend (to sensitive skin).

The sample size provided was enough to give me three morning applications after my regular cleansing and toning routine. I only needed a small amount of the serum to cover my entire face and neck. I used a small pea-sized amount of this product on my entire face every morning for about a week. This product contains a complex to increase collagen production, retinoids to replenish new skin cells and decrease wrinkles, and HA to hydrate. Retinoids are definitely a trendy skincare product at the moment, and I do use retinol on my face in the evening 1-2 times a week and have noticed a difference. I personally can't say whether I had any direct results from this product, but considering it contains retinoids, I imagine it's having the same effect.
