Great looking model, very interesting build, delivery of model very good. On a par if not better than Lego, will definitely shop again.

Cracking good model. Looks really good when built, very nice choice of livery. Was easy in the most part to build, only criticism I would have is that the engine and wing mountings are a little weak for the weight that they bear, so strengthen those points with extra bricks as I did and all is well. Fabulous model, well worth the money and time.

The A-10 Thunderbolt II (aka Warthog) has long been one of my favourite jet aircraft, so I bought the original Cobi version as soon as it came out, and when they brought out a new version in Indiana Air National Guard 100th Anniversary livery I pre-ordered it straight away. Unfortunately my original is currently in storage so I can’t do a side by side comparison, so I’ll just stick to the usual.Things I like:The livery. The Warthog looks great in all its operational schemes, but the black grey and white is spectacular. The weapon fit. A nice mix of missiles and bombs, not to mention ‘The Gun’The pad printing. Cobi excel at this. There’s also frame printing on the cockpit canopy, including rivet detail, and a nicely printed control panel inside the cockpit. The dihedral angle on the outer wingsThe overall look of the thing, instantly recognisableThings I like less:The undercarriage retracts, but not fully. It really needs to be removed for displaying ‘in flight’The gaps where the inner and outer wing sections join. I was hoping Cobi would have resolved this on the new version, but they’re still thereOverall, it’s a pretty good build that took just over three hours. There are quite a lot of fiddly bits, but that’s the nature of the more detailed models that Cobi produces nowadays. Building it on a cold January day didn’t help, fingers numb with cold struggle with the smaller elements! One thing to watch for, make sure you are building in a well lit area because the difference between the dark grey and black elements in the instructions isn’t always clear. The end product is a large and impressive model, that is pretty robust, if you are a Warthog fan you should have this in your collection.Epic service from Brick Tanks as always. 😊
