This series is one of the most well known anime of the 2000s (discounting long-running shonen battle series like Naruto) and for good reason. This first season ends on a cliffhanger, however this is no issue due to the second season, which has an extremely satisfying conclusion, which is great for those who dislike, as some call them, "go-read-the-manga endings".I watched the show dubbed and it was great, one or two of the female characters' voices sounded unnaturally high, but I was able to easily overlook this due to the great voice acting of Lelouch's character and many others. I would recommend watching this dubbed if you are considering it, as an episode in season 2, which stands out as being a very humourus episode, is even better in the English ... MoreThis series is one of the most well known anime of the 2000s (discounting long-running shonen battle series like Naruto) and for good reason. With both English and Japanese (with English Subtitles) as language options, this collection is amazing! The story itself is captivating, enthralling (and possibly heart-breaking at times), but definitely worth it. It would be a good idea to buy both Season 1 and Season 2 though, as Season 1 doesn't end with a completion of Lelouch's story. Still, every minute of it was absolutely enjotyable!

Interesting for any Anime Fan

Code Geass is one of those Anime's that combines Comedy, Action, Suspense all the while delivering all round beautiful Animation. Code Geass shows the decisions one man makes when he's given the power to change the world, be it for better or worse. This man, Lelouch uses his new found power to create a world where his sister, Nunnally can find happiness. To do this he seeks to eliminate hatred in the world by fighting The Holy Britannian Empire, so that the oppression it enforces (mainly on Japan) can be erased. Special Features, include Textless Openings/Closings (both versions if there's more than one version of the same opening or ending), Trailers for other Animes, Audio Commentaries by the Japanese Cast and these cool little Picture Drama Episodes which show ... MoreCode Geass is one of those Anime's that combines Comedy, Action, Suspense all the while delivering all round beautiful Animation. This set is well worth the money because you can watch all the Epic Fights and Funny Episodes over and over again.

More tragedy and twists than Shakespeare with robots
16 August 2015

An amazing and engrossing anime, with gut wrenching losses, twists, tragic circumstances and bitter plans. I would say think the Shakespeare play King Richard, as is similar fashion we are designed to love a semi villainous character one after another. And your heart sinks so many times as characters you love fall into unfortunate scenarios.Seriously, if you want an involving anime and you haven't picked this one up yet. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN MISSING!Essential to pick up collection 2 as well.

One of the best anime ever!
1 December 2016

One of the few series which has an ending that leaves audiences satisfied (although sad), and is open to interpretation! (those who have seen will know what I mean (no spoilers XD)). It has a great array of characters, is well dubbed, good animation, and many intense action scenes.I /guess/ it can be compared to 'Death Note' in the sense that it greatly features a battle of the wits between the protagonist 'Lelouch' and his opponents, like that in a game of chess, really (but with mobile suits).Overall, a great series, make sure to watch season 2 as well, or you will be left at a cliff hanger.
