It's early days, but I've seen no rust in the metal component so far.The salt must be very dry when using otherwise it clumps very easily, otherwise very pleased with this purchase.

An excellent pepper grinder that would grace any dining table. Lovely quality and looks. Well constructed and should serve for years to come. Easy to fill and non-messy. Delivers a fine grind effortlessly. Its ergonomic design fits your hand - smooth to hold and pleasing to use. I'm so pleased I bought the matching salt mill to complete my set. Bought this one to replace/upgrade an ancient Cole & Mason peppermill that had lost it's grind.Decided to go for this Precision+ version as it was 20% off the RRP so a very similar price to the plain oneGreat item with a lovely grind compared to inferior mills, hope it lasts as long as the previous one (20 years!)
Initial views are very good. A light coloured wood which looks and feels good quality. The unit fits well into your hand. Filling is easy despite having to take off the lid. Grinds to various levels - the fine being easy and uniform in shape. Identifies as a Pepper Pot due to the 'P' on the top screw fixture.

Definitely and it would be a an excellent gift.
I probably use way too much pepper now because I enjoy using this too much. It's well made, looks great and you get a lovely fine pepper dusting over your food. With other grinders I found that I'd get clumps of very peppery pepper which weren't pleasant when eating, but with the Cole & Mason grinder there's none of that. It's perfectly ground!If I had to make one suggestion I would love it if this grinder was slightly larger so it fit more peppercorns in but having said that I have been using it regularly for the last few weeks and haven't had to fill the grinder up with new peppercorns yet! So it isn't that you constantly need to refill, I'm just pushing for excellent. I'll definitely be buying the salt Mill to complete the set as I'm so impressed with the quality.
This manual peppermill by Cole & Mason in quality beechwood is an added everyday kitchen tool. I found it very easy to fill, adjusting the grind knob on top enabled coarse or fine pepper which is an added bonus.The grinding mechanism underneath is securely fixed, well made and should last a long time.I am very pleased with the appearance and functionality of the product and hope it lasts as long as my old one.
I have used this over a period and it has not let me down. You can easily adjust it to coarse or finer ground. I have tried it with different peppercorns and it always works well. It looks good in the kitchen and on the dining table, as it is a well-made item that seems to be built to last.
