DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING THIS TENT!

I used this Tent for the first time over the weekend. The setup is fast as advertised but this tent leaks HORRIBLY!! I didn't even get caught in a rain storm!! It was a heavy, misty, dense fog! I managed to spend several hours outside in this same weather in a hoodie and it was merely damp however upon returning to my tent later in the evening I found the entire inside was drenched! my wallet and its contents..soaked. Vehicle remote... soaked and unusable! By morning I had a pools of water all across the floor, my bedding, pillow, clothes were soaked! water managed to seep into literally everything!!!! and to add insult to injury the bag is ripping on the bottom... and this was only the first time using it!!It's pretty clear Coleman has become yet another company ... MoreI used this Tent for the first time over the weekend. Disappointing…not the Coleman Standard

I bought this tent on sale several months ago for a trip I had last weekend. Prior to the trip, I set it up, waterproofed the entire outside, and purchased the separate Coleman rainfly accessory (carrying case arrived with seams unraveling and broken zipper). We had light to moderate rain (off and on, nothing unordinary) the first night, and everything got completely wet. The walls of the tent were 100% saturated and had water runs all down the sides (very similar to some of the reviews below), ponding in low spots in the floor of the tent. The rainfly only helped minimally, as it doesn’t cover nearly as much surface area and side wall as a typical rainfly. It does not perform as Coleman has advertised, which generally isn’t the case - I’ve always had good results with their products until now. I’m an ‘unhappy camper’.

Durable and easy setup

I use this tent several times a year and it is easy to set up with one person. I've had it for about 10 years, and there is only very minor stretching of the fabric. I've seen reviews where rain is a factor. ALWAYS with a tent(any tent) put a TARP over it that has 2' of overhang over each side. A tarp under it is also a good idea, have this exactly the same size as the floor, otherwise it will collect water and run the water under the tent. The tub floor styling of this tent is excellent design for not letting ground water penetrate through a bottom seam. I put the fly over it, and a tarp. I stayed dry through hours of thunderstorms with this setup.Other great features are the loop for hanging a lantern, top vent, and the two wall pockets for valuables.

Great tent for the price.

For the price of this instant tent, it is great. Super easy setup. Also was pleasantly surprised when I found the rip out expansion panel on the bottom of the bag, so now it has plenty of room in it. I knocked off one star because it could be improved. They should still sell this version, but add an improved version to the lineup that costs a little more. What would I like to see? The tub made of a more premium material. I would like to see a stake point just to the right of the door that will make one handed operation of the zipper easier. Or better yet, add the swing door option. I would like to see two or three ground vents right above the tub, and maybe and electronics pass through (although not really needed the way the current door zipper works). Oh, and this should be part of the current version - Velcro tie straps instead of the current nylon straps that you have to tie off. Also, I had trouble finding a footprint for it, so went with a competitors footprint. All that said though, I love my 6 person instant tent. At 6’2” I have to stoop a little, but not much, and my wife can fully stand. It’s perfect for the two of us and our gear. I would not try to fit more than 3 or 4 people in it though. Highly recommended for what it is. Oh, and it fits in my Jeep JL 4xe across the backseat well. Some of the other east setup tents like the hub tents with similar space and headroom do not.

Instant Up=Instant Fun

This is my third instant tent from Coleman. I had the privilege to get one of the original instant tents when they were first released around 15 years ago. I used that tent literally 50+ times until it finally wore out. I bought my 2nd one (4 person) about 7 or 8 years ago. I wore that one out as well. To be honest, the first one would have made it longer but I broke one of the articulating arms breaking it down in a storm. It never leaked once. I did apply seam sealer a few times as well as scotch guard multiple times as well. The 2nd one had a broken zipper that I didn't want to deal with in really bad weather. I just bought this 3rd one (6-person) along with the additional rain fly as we camp a lot and having that extra protection is very nice especially in ... MoreThis is my third instant tent from Coleman. You don't need a rainfly in 95% of the situations you might find yourself in as the design is exceptionally good at keeping rain out. The design has covers around the windows and door that "hide" the zipper and act as shields to send the rainwater down without entering the tent. The instant up design has changed a little since the first one was released and it is more beefy and the hinge covers are stronger and prevent pinching when taking down or putting up the tent. The tent truly sets up in less than 2 minutes. There have even been times we didn't even use the guy wires to stake out the tent. (I do not recommend that if you won't have a few cots inside to provide some weight.) The tent is very easy to move around to the best position once it is popped open. The "tub" is made of a strong material much like a tarp but stronger, and it is at least 4 inches above the ground so that there is never any water in the tent even when we used it in a storm in the desert. For the money, you will not get a better quality tent that is so easy to use that even a caveman can set it up in a storm. Look for Coleman coupons as well and you might snag an additional discount when you buy one.

Lamborgini of the tents

The only way il set up a tent ever again, this takes 1 min after you drop the bag to fullly extended tent. I have had my instant cabin 6 person for 4 years now and it has gone thrugh some exstreme weather in Iceland. Where other tents were collapsing and flying over the whole camsite and some becoming airborn hovering like ufo's, the instant cabin 6p stayed strong on top of the hill like a king.This tent has strong skeliton that is far superior from any other tent ive ever seen. I will buy this again if mine ever breaks.The only thing i can complain about is if its heavy rain, (like in the shower) the sems for the support stings have dripped inside. Poor workmanship and Quality Control

Maybe i just got a bad one that slipped through. Set it up in backyard first and thought the whole tent seemed to be very slightly off center like it wasn't stitched quite symmetrical. Took it out to state forest campground in Michigan and noticed a pea sized hole in screen to the right of door window, as soon as I touched screen the hole opened up to size of half dollar. Had to patch it with screen tape from hardware store. The bathtub fabric to floor seam leaves a small ledge on the outside of the floor tarp in many places no matter how tight the floor is for the rain to collect and eventually soak into bottom seam and tent. Front door main zipper just broke and became unuseable because it randomly misaligns itself now and is junk. The best tent you can buy for Non-backpacking

I've had this tent for 10 years, camped hundreds of nights with it predominantly around Utah and the West.It's the ideal tent for car camping for 2 adults. Instant setup, cabin style for good interior headroom, great design, good airflow, relatively durable. It's just now falling apart. Not super waterproof but we went through some gnarly storms in yellowstone with it and all was fine, let's be serious you are not taking this thing mountaineering. Also rafted down the upper Colorado river in Arizona with it and camped in cape hatteras with this thing in crazy windstorms and it was epic. Now camp on islands around Florida with it with my kids, the best. Wow I can't believe how many great memories I have with this tent....
