Coleman's new patent pending burner technology brings unrivaled innovation to outdoor cooking, revolutionizing the industry standard! The Coleman Hyperflame series provides 2 x faster boil time compared to a standard burner. The key features of the Hyperflame series is that the downward stairstepping burner design reduces the flame's exposure to the wind, it also has uniform holes throughout the top of the burner in order to heat a larger surface area of the pot/pan. The larger diameter of the burner provides a wider heat distribution to the pot/pan, and the Windblock Pan Support blocks wind from all directions! The Hyperflame series provides you with twice as fast boiling time than a standard burner and eliminates the need for side wind blocks. The Hyperflame FyreKnight's burner technology means that you can start cooking faster and without fuss. Portable to accompany you on your camping or outdoor holidays as well as being the perfect option when needed for entertaining friends and family. The Coleman Hyperflame FyreKnight 2 Burner Stove is a SwapTop system that enables a combination of cooking surfaces to be used on the stove at the same time and also has a removable pan and aluminized cooktop for easy cleaning. This stove also has a locking lid latch system and non-skid feet, as well as fully adjustable independent burner controls to cook from simmer to boil. With a total output of 24,000 BTU's, the Coleman Hyperflame FyreKnight 2 Burner Stove is the perfect cooking solution for all your camping and outdoor needs!

So after a lot of research we ended up going with one of these for its ability to keep cooking in the harshest of weather. This model has a personality. When you dial,it down it will howl like an F-35 taking off. It It Full on or not at all, it would not simmer. The knobs fall off. There are no side flaps for cross winds. It came close to being tossed in the bin but then I read some YouTube reviews that fixed it— take apart the needle valve regulating gas flow and wipe off all the packing grease and reassemble. Now it simmers and howls less often. The knobs need Gorilla glue.

The main advantage is that the flame does not blow out in the wind, negating the need to put up wind barriers which also means you can put bigger pots on it. It closes up easily which helps with packing it away in the car. might thinks of getting a bag for it so the exterior doesn't scratch. Let me start off by saying my Cabela's experience was excellent. However my experience with this stove not so much! You basically have two cooking temperatures, hot and really hot. You can't adjust the temperatures to a low flame setting with the knobs. I find I have to shut the stove off, let my griddle cool and then restart the stove. My second issue it now one of the knobs is stripped. I had put a piece of tinfoil inside of the knob to help grip the splines of the valve so you I could turn it. As far as robustness of the stove case, burners etc it seems well built. With a few minor manufacturing adjustments I think this stove could be top notch. Thank you.

Finally a camping grill that lasts!
10 February 2020

I got this grill a few weeks ago to use on our family camping trips. I'm a try it before you rely on it girl, so we decided to do a test run in our back yard first. So I got out the pots and pans and gave it a test. It was a fairly windy day, but to me that was just another hurdle to test the stove with. Opened up the stove, propped the lid up, popped the cooktop grates into place, attached the propane connector, & propane, and ignite button. I wanted to test the temperature adjusting first, so 2 x 12" (largest that can fit) pots full of water on each burner. One set on low, and one set on high. I wanted to see if the temperature controls truly worked. Nothing is worse that trying to make breakfast only to get burnt pancakes & eggs, and undercooked bacon, even worse ... MoreI got this grill a few weeks ago to use on our family camping trips. I wanted to test the temperature adjusting first, so 2 x 12" (largest that can fit) pots full of water on each burner. One set on low, and one set on high. I wanted to see if the temperature controls truly worked. Nothing is worse that trying to make breakfast only to get burnt pancakes & eggs, and undercooked bacon, even worse when you end that day with burnt stew. As expected the water boiled quite quickly, about 5 to 7 minutes, for the burner set on high, and not at all for the burner set on low. Turned the stove off, dumped out the pots, filled them with cool water and let them cool for a bit. Next I put the 12" pots back on the burners hit the ignition button, and turned the burners on high and low again, but using the opposite burners. Same outcome, water boiled in about 5 to 7 minutes. I threw some hot dogs in the boiling water pot, covered it, and turned it down a bit. In the other pot I dropped in some green beans, a little salt and butter, then I stuck a metal bowl on top so I had a makeshift double boiler. I added milk, and chocolate bars, because seriously what is camping without hot chocolate? Once the hot dogs were cooked I turned the burner down, took off the pot, and put a smaller saucepan on to make soup. The wind was still blowing, but I didn't really notice while I was cooking, other than my hair flying into my face. Once the hot chocolate was done I removed the bowl from the top and stirred the green beans, then the soup. Hot chocolate went into a carafe, hot dogs were drained, put on buns, and put on the tray on the table. I removed and strained the green beans and added a little butter, then put another saucepan on the burner. I added 2 cans of baked beans, and cooked them on medium low for a few minutes. Meanwhile, the soup was done so I put that on the table with everything else. A few minutes later the the baked beans were also done, so Those went on the table, and I turned the stove off to cool down. It did get quite hot while I was using it, but that's probably why it has the little legs on it. After everyone ate and drank I cleaned up the stove to put away, it was still a little warm to the touch, but not warm enough that I couldn't wipe it down and put it away for the night. The I washed the dishes (in the dishpan I filled with cold water and the boiling water from earlier. So my first time using this stove will not be my last! This stove is also pretty light, so it won't be an issue to carry it to wherever we decide to camp this year, it's also got some protection on the sides, which I'm sure my kids will put to the test this year. There are only 2 things I'm not so happy with about the stove. One is that I like to use one of the big propane tanks, like for a backyard grill, when I'm camping. I wasn't able to do that when I was testing in because of the type of propane arm that came with the stove. I'm going to do a little more research on that though. It's would make things alot easier. The second this is that the stove can be quite noisy when you are carrying it. If the grates aren't popped into place, or pop out of place then make alot of racket when the grill is moving. The same with the propane arm. there is a hole in the stove in back between the 2 burners that the propane arm pops into, when the stove is closed, and you are carrying it or driving around with it, all you hear is a continuous tinking sound. We have taken to wrapping the grates and propane arm in dishtowels when we put them back inside the stove so we don't slowly go insane while driving, hiking, biking.Other than that, we look forward to taking this on our camping trips this year!

Good size - gas valve knob stripped
8 January 2022

The cooker itself is a really good size and is very handy how it folds in nice and tight to be stowed away neatly. However, after the third time use, one of the gas valve knobs lost it's internal grip to open the gas valve (likely stripped thread). The knob kept spinning without any impact to valve. This meant I only had one side working for the rest of the trip. I understand you can get spare knobs from snowys but after three uses, this is really poor, considering the price of the product. I hope this comes under warranty and I get a free replacement soon. The product is less than 8months old.

I expected more
21 April 2021

One would expect paying a relatively premium price for a cooker that you would get a solid product. The first issue I had with the cooker was that on first weekend of use, one of the control knobs stripped. I promptly replaced this out of my own pocket by ordering three more spare control knobs through Snowys. But this brings me to the second and third issue which occurred just last weekend. After getting fairly reasonable use out of the stove (about 18 days camping) I encountered a gas supply issue which appears to be related to the regulator. Luckily a mate had the same cooker (I'd recommended it to him) and by using his regulator the gas supply issue appeared to be resolved. No good for me
30 April 2022

Bought on sale after reading excellent reviews but didn,t live upto the hype. Cant simmer as the control springs back upto to high. Great ir you want to burn water it is on high from the lowest setting and melt your face of at any slightly higher setting. One control knob broke first use (the spline is too small into a plastic knob so was always a weak point). Support for the lid flimsy. If turned off at high temp then restarted the gas was popping and banging. Anything over lowest setting was causing a small saucepan to slide across the mirror finish top. Ended up having to hold small pans all the time and lift upto 20cm high to prevent boiling over.

Really good after an easy fix up
21 December 2022

So I've noticed most of the poor reviews relate to it's lack of ability to get down to a low simmer. So I tried it without the fix and yes it is a problem but having watched youtube videos there is a very simple and easy solution. Otherwise was very good. Also worth noting that the flat BBQ plate can fit inside the closed lid when traveling. When I was looking in-store I didn't purchase the traveling bag with it as me and the sales person was trying to fit the plate in with the grill and it wouldn't fit. But now knowing that it can be stowed inside the grill then it would have fit.

Superfast
17 April 2021

We used new stove everyday in our 10 days holiday in the morning to boil water for the coffee and evening to cook partially pre-cooked meals. This is the fastest gas cooker EVER (home or camping) for boiling water and is on par with an electric kettle. Very happy here.Regarding slow flame, initially it was tricky and needed quite a bit of attention but after 5 or 6 days the excess lurbrication burnt off and regulating the lower output heat became more steady. Also what we like that the bottom of the stove does not get too hot. It does not take long to cool down for storage. A tough carrier bag would be fantastic. The windshields come off easily to make cleaning a simple task.
