I was excited about this tent but so upset when I opened it up! The cord in the pole was broken. I have a camping trip coming up in a few days for a week! I was able to mend it for the time being but I’m worried about how long it will hold as the cord is tight. It still has some pull and I can fold the pole up with ease. I will likely replace the string after my trip. Sad that I have to bring a back up tent just in case. It’s a brand new tent! The cord should not be broken!Once I set it up and checked it out, it’s exactly what I am looking for for size and will hold my cot nicely. I am 5’5 and can stand up pretty decently in this dome tent, which is also what I was looking for. It’s just me, and there is plenty of room for all my gear. Very solid option for camping in most conditions. Set up time is relatively quick, but not as quick as some of their instant set up models. Best to have 2 people for assembly. I paid around $100 for mine on an Amazon deal. I would have paid double that based on the quality of the tent. Have used mine frequently for 3 years and have had no issues. It has paid for itself in that time. A good solid option for those looking to do some camping without paying ridiculous prices for a cabin at a campground. One suggestion that is very important... Always set it up after camping if rained on. Set it up in your backyard for a day or so to avoid possible mold or mildew. Protect your investment and it will work out for you many years.

My family got the Coleman Sundown 6- Person Dome Tent to use when I was young to go camping which we really enjoyed doing as a family most weekends every summer before my parents got a divorce. So just a few years later, when me and my now husband, boyfriend at the time, had our daughter, we absolutely wanted to show her the simplicity and enjoyment you can have away from electronics. She wanted to help with everything!!! The Coleman Sundown 6- Person Dome Tent is fairly easy and quick to set up. It DEFINITELY helps keep you dry as we learned one night when while my husband was trying to cook over the tripod, it started to pour rain instantly. Without thinking about the rest of the food, we ran into the tent thinking that it should stop pretty quickly. Instead, within 1 min of us going into the tent to get dry, we hear noises from right outside the tent and a large group of about 30 raccoons came to take EVERY SINGLE ITEM OF FOOD WE BROUGHT!!! They were tag teaming by sending 1 raccoon in to grab a whole large box of donuts and run out. Then another would come running right up, dig in the grocery bag and grab a whole bag of bagels, next one- cream cheese, next one- chips, then came over to our cooler that was right outside the tent to get our bottles of water etc. All my husband, daughter and myself could do is stand there and laugh as we watched them out the window of the tent. We laughed all night UNTIL our daughter had to use the restroom and we were still surrounded by atleast 30 sets of raccoon eyes. Let's just say we NEVER visited that camp site again. Then a few years later the movers we hired somehow lost that wonderful memory maker of 2 generations just about 😢 But I would absolutely recommend that Coleman Sundown 6- Person Dome Tent to all the beginner campers or all the experienced campers who still love camping the traditional way

. The Coleman brand is known for making high-quality outdoor gear, and their 6-person tent is no exception. It's spacious enough to comfortably fit six people, making it great for camping trips with family or friends. The tent is designed to be durable and weather-resistant, with a sturdy frame and waterproof materials. It also has multiple windows and vents for ventilation, which is important for staying comfortable in warmer weather. Overall, the Coleman 6-person tent is a reliable choice for your outdoor adventures! 🏕️🌟

I bought this tent for a weekend camping trip with my boyfriend. We had a tent before that had ripped and was extremely difficult to set up. We got to the campsite with this tent and it was set up within about 10 minutes. It will probably be even less next time now that we know what we are doing. The materials were fine for the price. I would recommend using the coleman water-proofing applicator with this tent, we used it when we first got there and there was a heavy frost that night and everything in our tent stayed dry. We used the rain fly (it's just vents on top otherwise) and it got down to about 40 at night and was windy and we were alright (bundled in sleeping bags, but warm!)

This is a fantastic tent, as expected from Coleman, very high quality and lives up to the name. I like the colors, material is good, waterproof which is a plus, with a rainfly/wind blocker as well if ever needed. If you are an old-schooler for tent assembly, then you definitely will have no problem putting this together, even for those new to the game, it's all relatively straightforward, and the bag is wonderful, there's a tear strip which gives you more room to put it all back in when you are done, eliminating the old frustrations we used to have with putting tents away, ha ha. Tent stakes in place nicely and the 3-person one is super roomy inside. Easily fits a queen mattress with some room to spare. Would definitely recommend!

Classic dome tent

Great dome tent for the money! I have a $200 dome tent that is the same as this one only this one has an added air vent that is a nice bonus. The 4 person model has plenty of room for a grown man, a large dog, a cooler, a chair, fishing gear, and or hunting gear with room to spare. Rain, and wind is no problem for this tent when setup correctly! Always learn and practice setting up a new tent before you actually take it camping, never pitch a tent on a slope or at the bottom of a hill where rainwater could rundown. If you do find yourself in a spot where rainwater could flow digging a small trench to reroute the water can make a big difference. If you find yourself setting this tent up on a city sidewalk please reconsider your life choices and seek treatment asap!

Easy to setup, Comfortable and Sturdy

It's a Coleman. When you need a tent that "just works", get this. The design of these tents in having the tub-floor (base material rises up a few inches on each side) makes a huge difference on keeping it sturdy and drier than most tents. There are a lot of choices out there if you are bargain-hunting and there are probably ones that are just as good or better for half the price. I was in a pinch and did not have the time to test reliability and could not take the risk of camping with an iffy tent, so I went with a tested brand like this.Large enough for four people if really needed, comfy for 3, spacious for 2 with some gear in the tent. Minor but pervasive problems in the first few uses

I bought 17 of these for the National Scout Jamboree. Of the 17, the shock cord immediately broke (on first assembly) on one pole, and by the third assembly maybe half had had one ferrule fall off of the end of a pole, or ready to fall off. (So about one quarter of all main poles - and we lost one of them.) None of these were catastrophic for us - we fixed the broken shock cord, and the ferrules fell off after the trip. However, had the shock cord break been in a different place, or had we lost a ferrule before or during the trip, it could have been bad.Taking a longer view, my troop has had two of these and a dozen or so Sundome 3s. Most of the originals have died after maybe eight to ten years and eighty to a hundred trips. They fail in two places: the ferrules wear holes in the pole sleeves, and the main door zippers fail. That's not counting the occasional splintered pole segment; those can be replaced. We've probably had one or two splintered pole segments per tent.If I had to pick a single thing to improve, it would be to make the zippers more robust. That's what's finally killed ours.Note: We're in Southern California. We pretty much never camp in the rain, so don't have significant information on leaking. This last trip to West Virginia had a number of rainstorms and we didn't have any problems, but we did preemptively apply seam sealer just in case.Net: they're pretty solid, but keep some spare shock cord and ferrules on hand, and for the long run learn to replace pole segments. Remember that one of our failures was on first assembly.
