I used this tent for a three day camping trip with some friends. You could probably squeeze three people in but I’m not sure how you would fit 6. We fit two people with plenty of room for our mats/sleeping bags and our stuff. I have to give this tent absolute props where it counts — it STORMED hard on us on our last night of camping, severe storm warnings, wind, torrential rain, and we stayed secured and DRY in this tent with the rain shield on and the vents open. Easy set up (from someone who has never set up a tent) stayed in place and held up in storms. Good ventilation but definitely retains heat.

The dark room tent blocks 90% of sunlight. I am a mom of three and this tent is wonderful for my family of 5! The tent is made for 6 people and fits two queen size air mattress in it. I live in Florida and with the tent blocking 90% off sunlight it keeps the tent a lot cooler and heat out during the warm days here. It’s also great for my 1 year old! He takes multiple naps during the day and the tent keeps the sunlight out.easy for nap time! The tent stands 6ft tall at it highest point and is 10ft wide. The tents easy to take out put up in less than 15 min and after camping store back in bag for next use.

Easy to assemble, so much space!

This tent is perfect for our space needs. We’re a family of 4 and there is ample room in this tent for us and then some. It easily would fit 6 people. We couldn’t find instructions but we were still able to assemble it. It’s possible to assemble with one person but easier and faster with 2. It’s nice and dark inside, there’s a zippered hole to run a power cord inside. It’s very sturdy but I feel like the pins/stakes could be a little longer and thicker considering the size of the tent. We didn’t have wind so not sure if the included pins were sufficient enough to withstand strong wind but I questioned it. If I could improve it I would want more storage space inside. Good dark-room tech, weak tent poles....

Hello! I'll echo what's already been posted in these reviews. The "dark-room" aspect does not disappoint, but we suffered a busted pole on our fifth or sixth use of the tent (we bought it new), and - like the other customers on this sight - I'm finding that getting replacement poles is nearly impossible. Coleman sends you to a third-party (e-replacement), and they carry a very limited amount of replacement pole sizes, and unfortunately not in the length we need for our SunDome 6-person. Their customer service could only recommend I "check-back" with them in the event their warehouse inventory changes.

Great concept - VERY Poor Execution 2nd DefectiveI'm currently wet, cold, and pretty cranky. This is my 2nd one after warranting out the first as it had sizable holes in the seams allowing for leakage one the first use. This one stayed sealed HOWEVER about an hour ago I was awakened to the wall caving in on me. I initially assumed a faulty stake and quickly inventoried the contents of my tent putting the heavier, water proof items in the corner and the other heavy non waterproof items on my chair in front of the door to prevent more water from entering. Once the rain let up a little I went out to find that the plastic piece that secures the tent and pole to the ground had snapped (only 25mph gusts). Thankfully the stake held and even through without the counterbalance of the tent to keep it in place, it only flipped around somewhat keeping the pole in place to prevent the tent from entirely being drenched inside rather than just the front half. It is still raining so I manuvered some extra steaks to hold both the tent and the pole in place and will have to swap tents today. Unfortunately I'm just outside the 12 month warranty period so it's an expensive lesson to stick to what works and not be wooed by features like fast pitch and dark room. It's a great concept, but to be honest I've lost more sleep in the 5 times using this model to water emergencies than I ever have to heat or sunlight. My suggestion, save your money and your sanity and get something else. My cheap 6 man Ozark trail lasted over 100 nights of camping and much larger storms than the one now. I'm pretty disappointed as I have two 4 man and a 6 man Coleman that are older models and they are solid... Like I said, I just really liked the idea of keeping the tent a little cooler and not getting as much sun in. But I'll take a little more sun ( and really it is only a little more sun) than waking up wet any day!

High expectation, low wet weather performance

Bought the version that comes with the screen room recently and first used this past Memorial Day weekend trip with some friends. We checked the weather report prior to the trip and expecting some rain overnight, but wasn't too worries as I read so many reviews about how well this tent perform. After setting the tent and rainfly up and set into the night, the rain started pouring. The tent itself was nice, pretty spacious for two adults and two small kids, and we really like the dark room technology to keep the inside dark. The next morning I found portion of the tent floor wet, so we wiped everything dry and reset everything. Only for perfect summer weather

This tent has completely open screen windows under the darkening fly so unless it's perfectly warm and windless, you'll find yourself pretty exposed to the elements. We're currently camping in July at the beach and it gets windy at night. There is literally no heat being retained in the tent as the gusts of wind are blowing into the tent. I can't even imagine this tent in the rain. Quick setup, the main reason why I bought this tent is because I can standup inside the tent. The external frame does not hold up well in 15-20mph winds. The tent has two large mosquitoes screens that DO NOT HAVE AN EXTERNAL cover to keep the rain out. It appears they figure that the rain fly would keep the rain out, the rain fly failed miserably on my tent. As far as the DARKROOM Technology I do not know what sensors they used to come up with the “Blocks 90% of sunlight” I used a Cen-Tech P98674 DVM that has a Lux setting I did not see a 90% drop in the Lux number standing outside and then walking into the tent & zipping up all the flaps, and made sure the rain fly was in place. My husband and I love to take our dog, jump in the SUV, and take off to our favorite camping spot. It's a beautiful secluded area that's great for stargazing, especially in the winter. The Dark Room tech makes the Sun Dome even better

I have owned and worn out 2 previous 6 person sun dome tents in the last 20 years that i really liked so buying this one was a no brainer. I took a gamble on the darkroom technology and am very pleased how it keeps the tent cooler in the day and dark in a light environment. This tent is easy to set up, best done with two people. This one and my previous ones have stood up to some nasty high wind thunderstorms that destroyed many of the neighboring tents in our camping area.
