Coleman Weathermaster 6-Person Tent with Screen Room

We love camping each year with the family and when it was time to purchase a new tent we went with Coleman WeatherMaster 6 person tent in Navy. This tent was large enough to fit two blow up mattresses with no problem. We were able to assemble in 20 min with just two people. I love the screen room on this tent, we used it for sitting and eating to keep the bugs out. One of our 4 nights while camping it rained and not one drop entered this tent. If you’re camping during the summer you can take off the top for a open screen ventilation. This is such a durable tent from Coleman with many features including a front door. I just loved everything about this tent! You won’t be disappointed with this purchase!

I did a lot of investigating before buying this tent and wasn't completely convinced it was the right choice until we pitched it for the first time. This tent is wonderful. My husband had never truly camped before I took him into the hills and at that time I had a small two person tent which was extremely cramped for two adults. After two trips to the woods she was ready for something else. The first setup took about an hour. We are down to 15-20 minutes depending on the where the tent is being pitched (rocky areas take a bit longer in general to stake). It has enough room inside for me to stand up straight, a queen air mattress (for those glamping trips) and enough room for a couple folding stools for changing and room to walk around. The screened ceilings are amazing at night whether under trees that reflect the firelight on leaves or under an open sky with brilliant stars shining down on you. One night there was a full moon and it was actually too bright for me. The rain fly keeps you dry and is SO easy to install. Just make sure when you stake the tent it's fully stretched so that you can avoid pooling but that's true for most multi-pole 4+ person tents. The screened room we haven't taken full advantage of yet but our last trip it rained and we moved our chairs and table inside and played some cards and ate snacks while watching the forest get soaked. It was quite cozy. Usually we just put our gear in this room for the night or when we leave the site for the day. The screened room does attract quite a few insects which get trapped at the top after entering through the sides at the bottom. This could be due to poor staking (we don't take too much time to stake this part of the tent) causing the tarp flaps along the bottom to welcome curious bugs. As with most tent gear I struggle to get everything folded up and back in the box so simply roll and tie the tent and throw it in the back of the car while the canvas bag w/ box holds the remaining gear and a few other items like extra stakes and tarps. You will not be disappointed with this tent. My one complaint is that due to its size and the lack of a shoulder strap (only hand straps) you will struggle to take this and other essential gear to a secluded site in one trip.

I’ve owned this WeatherMaster Coleman tent for over 10 years it was a wedding gift. It is a good size for 3-4 people if you want room on the inside of the tent. The material has lasted but I will need to patch one small hole for the first time since I got it. Over the years it has held up well. I love the hinged door it makes for a quick in and out of the tent. One thing to note is it will take 20-30 minutes to set up. The poles are made of metal on the frame of the tent but they hold up and last. I think it is better to have a sturdy tent that will last then one you can set up quickly.

We chose the Montana 8 for a balance of space vs. packing size. It is very spacious, but you will need to make sure you have room to set it up. We can fit 3 camp pads down and still have room for a small table to store stuff and enough room to dress. I am 6'2" I can can stand comfortably in the main dome area. We like the rainfly awning and there is enough room under it for 2 camp chairs. We have used this in the rain without leaks. We have camped mostly in the summer and spring, the tent does obviously get cold, but with a camp space heater, it stayed relatively warm even with just the rainfly over the mesh in the roof. The hinged door is nice, but the velcro closure rarely works, we end up zipping it closed every time. It's not complicated, but it does take a bit of time to set up, lots of poles and rope and hammering of stakes. But, the trade off is that it packs down in to a relatively small bag that can fit in the back of our car with all the other camping stuff. The main problem I have had with this tent is that I have had to repair two of the fiberglass tent poles already. the one around the door, (I don't even know how that split) and one main pole. Coleman doesn't sell a replacement pole, they sell you a kit that you need to build the pole out of. After my second time rebuilding the pole, I'm pretty good at it, but it's still a pain to do. The next tent I get I hope will have metal poles. Overall, I think its a good tent if you are looking for something large, yet able to be packed away in a smaller package for travel

I had tables and chairs getting whipped around during that storm, and not once did my tent ever show signs of weakness or fault. I’m beyond impressed with this tent. Fast forward: 3rd time camping with this tent I decided to put a Queen blow up mattress inside. Yup it fits. Height kinda stinks as it’s 6th exactly at the center, as my bf smiled ear to ear whilst standing up at the center. Other than the durability of this tent, it’s easy to set up. I’d recommend that you tie the top and place the first 2 clips (at the top) before hoisting it up. Happy camping everyone! I’d say 10/10 for the tent. Just wish the awning had more coverage, but this tent does what it’s intended and that’s room, dryness, wind resistance.

Being that I do camp quite a bit, or used to at least, not as much anymore although soon we will be again however I own a few of these tents and they're FANTASTIC. They're well made I love that they have zippers to close off like the rooms so if you are camping with your kids or friends, you can all share a tent, comfortably as they are very spacious and you can have your privacy as well. They are very weather resistant no one does it like they do, their tents are affordable and in my opinion truly number 1. I have another that even has a front porch screen area they're great I'm telling you 👍😊 I highly recommend these for future camping trips to others. Camping in an unexpected tornado

When Coleman's description says weatherproof, you can take that to the bank! We bought this 10-person WeatherMaster tent and went camping at Carlyle Lake, IL over Memorial Day weekened. We arrived at the camp site at 5:00 and immediately set up the tent. We knew there would be rain for a few hours Sunday evening starting around 6:00. We were not expecting the tornado warnings to start popping up on my phone. The rain came suddenly; winds started gusting to 80mph. On the northern side of the campgrounds, an F-1 tornado cut through some RVs and boats and quarter-sized hail fell everywhere. Our site was on the south side--we went to our car when we heard the tornado. By 8:30, it all stopped as suddenly as it started. Don't waste your money

Poles are janky. Put the tent up once to weatherproof if and test how long it would take to put up. Took it down after a day. Camped with it for 4 days, 1 of which it was sprinkling for. Poles are already rusting. Put the tent up when we got home to do a better job at cleaning out grass, etc, and one of the poles has decided to break. The larger aluminum pole will no longer go together correctly, the plastic and elastic band that holds it together doesn't fully retract anymore.

Great tent!

We use this tent for a weekend… I did not use any seam sealer. 12 hours after we set it up, we had a thunderstorm come in, there was pea size hail, and 35 mph winds! The only place that I had a couple of drips was near the pouch for the battery pack… no problem! I just took the pack out and I had no problem after that! It held up very well!I also very much love the self rolling covers for the window as well as the hinged door! That is truly awesome and a must have for kids!!!I was a little hesitant about the LED light… But it worked great, and it really lit up the tent well! Also, as we were trying to get the kids to settle down for the night, putting it on the low mode was fantastic! I had a small heater going and I would’ve loved if all that heat had not escaped out the skylight! I plan on fashioning some sort of panels that I can Velcro up there… But that would be a great idea Coleman!!! Make some panels that you could use to cover up the “skylight” if you needed or wanted to!
