Recently purchased this hat to wear for my job at a garden center where I’m outside in the sun(and occasional rain!) for 6 hours a day. It is perfect, exactly what I wanted! It is lightweight, allows air flow, has a large enough brim to protect my face and neck from the blazing mid afternoon sun, and the under chin strap keeps it from blowing off in occasional gusts. It is also water repellent when necessary. Size is adjustable and the hat is crushable but it’s easy to correct its shape. Reasonably priced, too. Love it!

I purchased the Bora Bora II hat in Lg/XL directly from Columbia.For years I have used Columbia products and can not think of evenone time when I have been disappointed with any aspect. I had readreviews in which the hat was praised, but the shipping was not.Evidently the bills came bent. I do not know where these hats werepurchased, however, Columbia sent mine flat; completelyeliminating that complaint possibility. Thank you Columbia!!!

TERRIBLE HAT. After a wash, the hat lost all forms of its original shape. The brims are FLOPPY. I CANNOT SEE wearing this hat because the hat's brims flop down to my eyes. Unless you plan on never washing this hat, DO NOT PURCHASE IT. After having it stored for several months, I recently began wearing it out and therefore washed it. Called warranty about the problem, and despite explaining all this--well, I am less than 2 months over the 1-year warranty and apparently there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING they can do. I have purchased other products from Columbia and am very disappointed in the way they have decided NOT TO stand behind their product. Fits great, but so far I've ordered the Warm Copper and Dark Coral and both items were darker than expected due to the product being depicted on a light background. This is not a peachy coral as it seems to appear. I thought MAYBE the Desert Orange would be my color, but I just couldn't afford another hat that I might not be entirely happy with, so I went with Grill which is accurately depicted. I'm always outside working so I wanted to be protected and feel just a little bit pretty. Vista Blue looks nice, but again, I'm not certain it's accurately portrayed. I DID however, only spend $14.98 on the Warm Copper when it was on sale. This is a long term review. My bora bora is over 10 years old. I use it for hiking, yard work, fishing and any other activity in the sun. This hat breathes well and keeps my head cool thanks to great ventilation paired with lightweight upf50 nylon. I live in southern Arizona and this hat is a great option for our weather. After over a decade of use and multiple washings, this hat still looks brand new with all stitches holding strong. Great job Columbia.

When I saw how it was shipped I was concerned because when I put it on the brim hung horribly like a box on my head. I tried putting heavy things on it to re shape it, I tried washing it and putting weight on it to flatten it, I washed it many times. It is a little better but it still hangs horribly. Love this hat. So I am not a big hat person...but let's be honest...the sun is hot and we all need all the protection we can get anymore. So many of these type of hats have a brim that is way to large for some of us. I mean...I like to be able to see! This brim is perfect. I decided to buy this hat after trying out a friend's while out kayaking.The difference in coolness compared to my ballcap was definitely noticeable.I love the cinch adjustment around the crown of the hat. It can be worn looser if it isn't too windy or tighter if it is. This also gives it great versatility for different sized heads...The chin strap is handy for those occasional gusts that might catch you by surprise..at least it can't fly away.It's light, packs well, keeps my face well shaded, all important things when out on the water all day.Shipping was quick, came 2 days earlier than the final estimate, 4 days earlier than the original estimate...can't complain about that.
I'm really surprised that this is hat is very highly reviewed.The first time I wore this hat ever, it didn't hold well at all and got lump and started to block my view and was very uncomfortable in that sense. it blocked the sun only in my neck but didn't help sun getting in my eye.
