Purchased a couple of weeks ago for a hiking trip. The fit was good. Very lite weight. The problem was after the first day my ankle area, shins, calves, knees, and hip joints were hurting. The second day the pain was horrendous and by day three I managed only a few miles and had to quit. The is no support in this shoe. No cushion. Wish I would have just worn my ASICS. These ruined my trip!

Best walking/hiking Shoes!

I purchased this in preparation for our first trip to Rome. I heard how there would be a lot of walking involved and being that I have a bad back, I wanted to be as ready as I could. These shoes did not disappoint! They were extremely comfortable! At the end of the day, everything else would be aching but never my feet! Best purchase!

This is my second pair. The toe box is a little roomy, but this also accommodates a prescription orthotic when the insole provided is taken out. I wear these for everyday errands and retired my old pair to mowing the lawn and gardening. I feel like they are just OK for a moderate hike on uneven terrain. I prefer more ankle support for this type of activity. Overall, they have a good stiff sole with good traction. Good for the price.

Great hiking shoe!
22 March 2024

These have been great shoes! I am on my second pair and have used them not only for walking my dog but also for hiking many national parks They don't scream hiking boot which is nice that you can wear them on the trail and then to a casual restaurant! They have a removable insole which allows me to use my orthotics! I am replacing because after hundreds of miles walked I have worn down the treads!

Great value, excellent lightweight hiking shoe
13 November 2022

The great reviews on this shoe aren't wrong! This is a great lightweight hiking shoe that has perfect tread, good arch support and ample toe box - and after trying a few different weights of sock for both cold and warmer weather, I'm super pleased. These are comfy right out of the box, and were worn right away in rainy, muddy conditions. Waterproof, and an excellent value for the price - even if you just want an extra pair of hiking shoes to have on hand, these are the ones to buy.

My second pair. Probably won't be my last.
13 April 2024

This is my second pair of these Columbia hikers; the original pair have been worn down to being "gardening shoes" so I needed a new pair for daily walking. These have been great because they fit my high-arch foot much better than other brands. The heels stay in place without slipping (and blisters), and there is enough cushion underneath to keep my foot happy. I prefer a shoe like this, with leather areas on the upper to give stability to the actual shoe unlike so many of the fabric shoes that offer little support or structure across the sides and toe of your foot. These are my go-to shoes when I just want to do a serious walk/light hike and don't need to go for a full coverage hiking boot.

NOT WATERPROOF
1 April 2024

The show fit good and is sturdy. However, the main reason I purchased this hiking shoe is because it is supposed to be waterproof. Not true. Wore it in a field that was wet (so not even in pouring rain) and the top of the shoe became wet top front, and it soaked through- thought Columbia was a good brand and their advertised features could be trusted. I also purchased a Columbia waterproof raincoat - guess I need to test that now.

Purchased third pair.
30 January 2024

This is my third pair. I live in the Sonoran desert and wanted a pair of lightweight trail hikers. I spend summers in Canada and Alaska and appreciate the waterproof feature. The tread gives me the security of a hiking boot and the comfort of a sneaker. It has a nice roomy toe box and is comfortable out of the box. Great quality for the price.

Soooo Comfortable!
27 December 2023

I bought these for a trip I am taking in the summer. Apparently there will be a lot of walking and hiking and I want to break them in before leaving. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. They are really comfortable, sturdy and the grip is fantastic. Looks good and is true to size. I’m gonna head out with them today. Hopefully, they don’t rub in the wrong places. I’m a size 8, they fit well. I just hope they don’t make my feet sweat in the summer, as I’ll be traveling somewhere hot, but for the price, can’t go wrong.

I purchased these ahead of time for my up coming cruise to Alaska next year. I purchased the 9 1/2 as it was the only size available. I normally wear a sized nine. I walked around the house in these shoes, they feel comfortable with the thick socks. If you intend to walk a lot especially trail walking or hiking I recommend you get them 1/2 size larger and wear with thick socks for comfort and possible swelling of feet after long day of walking the trails. The size nine would have been uncomfortable as my toe would have been pressing against the foot of the shoe with no wiggle room. I recommend these shoes.
