I bought these on Sep 2022, they are part of a whole lot of other boots I have, I have been using these recently and frequently. One day at the supermarket, my laces got intertwined between both boots, and I almost fell, the other day as I was getting ready to go down the stairs it happened again. After those two incidents, I have been very cautious, and make sure I tie my laces properly. Today it happened again, I they got hooked on the other shoe and I fell in the sidewalk, hurt my knee and hand. I will never use these again, nor give to any one since they are extremely dangerous to wear.

I tried this boot on in the store yesterday (3/5/24). The fit is very comfortable and secure, distributing weight well and balancing out. I did not purchase these, as I decided to wait awhile, however, I have owned a pair of Columbia hiking boots that I was very pleased with for suburban hiking. I do wonder whether the designers would consider offering a half chap (similar to what equestrians wear) as an accessory for the hiking boots, as gaiters are not as durable for hiking in tall grass areas or even light industrial conditions. With regard to fit: ALL of the shoes (regardless of brand) tend to run small. It may depend on origin of manufacture. This has always been true of clothing in the past. Different brands are not always sized the same, and it is dubious ... I live in the PNW. I was looking for a quality, stylish, comfortable pair of high-top waterproof hiking boots that would work well in summer and keep my feet warm in winter. I also wanted a reasonable price. After reading reviews, I decided to try these out and I am so glad I did. I wear a size 8.5 in Adidas running shoes but I ended up keeping these boots in a size 9 (I ordered an 8.5 and a 9 due to conflicting reviews). The 8.5's were too small, even with thin socks. The 9's are slightly bigger with thin socks but are still comfortable.. they fit well with my hiking socks and wool socks. I just got them today and tried them out for an hour beach walk on a cool evening, splashed through some puddles and they kept my feet warm and dry. I really love the thick soles. ... I was immediately drawn to the vintage pink, so cute. I would give these 5 stars but it seems I am slightly in between size 8.5 and size 9. Other than that, I recommend these boots. You could say I am a little picky, so that says a lot. Thank you, Columbia <3 I should also mention that my feet are on the wider side which is why I wear Adidas running shoes.. however, I did not order a size Wide in these boots and I still have enough room even with thick socks. I was hoping this would be the case since the vintage pink do not come in a Wide size. I hope this review helps!

Loved the look of the boot but not the interior. Purchased a pair and wore them for 30 minutes. I had a dent in my left ankle bone tissue after 30 minutes. The right ankle was okay. I could feel the difference in the stitching that ran along my ankle. Returned them as defective and got another pair. Same problem. Returned the second pair and went to the Columbia Outlet and found another pair with the same issue. Giving up on Columbia.
These boots were great for a few hikes, and then unfortunately, started to cause massive pain. I ended up with two bone bruises across both heels, and a very painful front toe where the tip of the boot was bending every time I would climb up and down.I have tricky feet to fit- wide toe area due to bunions and high arches(dancers feet) but I was advised these would be great for my unique feet. They worked well for casual use but not for extreme activity, which is when I started to experience issues. I sized up a full size to avoid toe bruising- just as you would in running shoes, and my toes did not bang the front. Unfortunately the bend in the leather did cause toe bruising.I ended up having to purchase another set of boots while I was out of the country on a ... Unfortunately the bend in the leather did cause toe bruising.I ended up having to purchase another set of boots while I was out of the country on a multi-day 100 mile hike because the pain was so great.Pros: extremely waterproof, lightweight, and sturdy design.Cons: Construction caused odd fold in the toe area, which resulted in bruising. Stiff heel area caused bone bruising after several days.
I do not like this hiking shoe. Merrells were much better. This shoe was hard and painful to break in. After broke in they are still not comfortable. Not great for long hikes or all day wear. They do keep your feet dry but also very cold during winter hikes, even with a couple pairs of socks. They do last awhile. I have had mine for years and haven't had to replace them yet. I might anyway, just because I would like something more comfortable. If your shopping for a hiking shoe, I would pick something else. There are way more comfortable hiking shoes out there.
For the past maybe 10 years (?), these have been my go-to boots for almost everything - walking, hiking, even running and sports. I'm very sad to report, after purchasing probably 14-16 pairs over the years, that they've changed the way they make them and the toe box is now too narrow especially on the outer edge. At least this was the case for the last 4 pairs I tried. Maybe they're trying to save a few pennies per pair by switching manufacturers? Who knows! All I can say is I would have gladly continued buying one or two pairs a year for the rest of my life, but, unfortunately, they are now completely unwearable for me. Unless Columbia changes them back to how they were, I will - with much regret - have to find a different shoe.
I bought these for a recent trip to Iceland. Wanted boots I could wear over there that wouldn't let in water when walking/hiking in snow. They did not disappoint. Feet were completely dry and the grips were quite good in the snow and ice too. Ice was a little tougher to walk in but I didn't have crampons for the boots so that was my own fault. The boots were really comfortable but I did need to size up in them (1 full size) - half a size would do in normal socks but because I had thicker socks for the cold, the full size was needed.
I bought these because I was so excited to have a good pair of waterproof hiking boots in pink! I thought I could trust the Columbia brand and Newton Ridge line. Aesthetics aside, I chose to leave these behind at the hotel because I would I never feel safe wearing them.Story time, I wore these onto the plane to Kauai, and my suspicion of the poor grip began when I entered my hotel room. These shoes glided on the laminate wood flooring, even my basic Keds and Rainbows or any normal pair of shoe would not.Lo and behold, I went hiking on the Hanakāpī‘ai Falls trail and felt like I had zero grip on the slicker rock. I slipped a few times and fell once. With no other appropriate pair of shoes, I also wore it hiking the Awa'awapuhi Trail and slid a few times without ... These boots were waterproof for slugging through mud. In all seriousness, buyer be aware. The shoes were waterproof though.
we eloped and hiked all day so i ordered these in white to wear with my wedding dress. aesthetically, they were perfect. so cute & exactly what i wanted. i read they didn't require much of a break-in period, so i didn't do much before wearing them on our big day. i definitely didn't wear the right hiking socks (we ordered fun socks to wear instead) and got a couple blisters. but that was from the non-moisture wicking socks rather than the boots. overall, they were very comfortable. i wore them for about 8 hours and we were basically walking/standing that entire time and my feet only got a little sore. even the next day, my feet/legs were not sore. so i would definitely recommend them!!
