The stove simmers well, no complaints there. The LED light is very flimsy but no biggy. The piso-electric ignition on one burner shorts out in the insulation and doesn't ignite the burner. Once again, annoying but not earth shattering.

A high quality product & value for money

This is a higher quality product. It was sold out in the shop so had to order online and it arrived in time for my camping trip. Well done Companion. I can see myself using this product for many years to come. It is both useful for camping and picnics. I am sick and tied of having to throw out inferior products that just rust up or become unsafe to use.

I walked into the store to get a Coleman even temp gas stove. Once I saw it on person I realised how huge it was. This stove was the a nice in between stage to fit a pan and kettle on. The low burn is great and the windshields work a treat. Easy to clean and worth getting the bag to keep it on good condition. I also loved the light that comes with it. It’s a motion sensing light. Great when cooking and also turned on when I came back to my tent. 5 stars from me.

Produces plenty of heat for frypan cooking my bacon and eggs. Be sure to preheat before putting thicker meats. Electric starters make a spark but haven't succeeded in lighting the burners yet...so I have used a lighter instead. I thought the LED proximity light would be a gimmick but it's actually bright and very effective and it's great. In breezy conditions the flames get some buffeting from wind coming in through the backside gap between the base and the lid so I will look to block that off somehow. Had no problem with flame hi/low adjustments. Quite robust and stores compactly in my caravan boot. Overall I'm with it and it's a keeper.

Two large pot areas. Double ignition with battery and piezo. Hooks to gas bottle or with different adapter to caravan bayonet coupling. The size of the cook field comes with a bigger packing size.

Good Stove
19 December 2021

We needed a low pressure stove to go with the camper. The Companion stove was one of the few on the market, but was a reputable brand, so we purchased it. The stove is bigger than we expected but is easy to set up, easy to start, simple to clean, and is well made. Should last ages.

Large flame burner
31 December 2022

Easy to setup, easy to light up. Large flame and fast cooking. Good wind covers. Quality hose and connectors. However, burner head is made of thin metal so may not that durable. LED light that came with it is a not a good idea because plastic housing of the light was melted after few days.

Pretty good
21 March 2022

Pretty good. Lots of fire power, boils water pretty quick. The piezo ignite is a great feature. However, the gas knobs seem a little bit flimsy and the way the wind shields hook on is a bit annoying. I bought this to replace one that is 15 years old (before it fails). I will be impressed if this one lasts that long.

The camping stove works well heating quickly. No problem with flame going out except in extremely windy conditions like those experienced when camping along the Great Australian Bight. Will recommend.

Well made product but

I purchased one of these after reading many many reviews especially one from Australian Geographic in regard to its simmering capability but i am slightly disappointed as his opinion of simmer must be totally different to mine or my stove dosnt operate the same as his.Being low pressure and of only 18000 btu total compared to others of 50000btu i thought it would burn with a lot lower flame but it wont simmer so i guess iwill need a trivet to raise the pot or pan,not really what i wanted as i could have done the same with my old cooker and saved $150.Also the diameter of the burners and flame is nearly to large to heat a 170mm dia pot the flame shoots up the side.I will have to learn to adapt the operation the stove to suit my needs.Just a couple of points ... MoreI purchased one of these after reading many many reviews especially one from Australian Geographic in regard to its simmering capability but i am slightly disappointed as his opinion of simmer must be totally different to mine or my stove dosnt operate the same as his.Being low pressure and of only 18000 btu total compared to others of 50000btu i thought it would burn with a lot lower flame but it wont simmer so i guess iwill need a trivet to raise the pot or pan,not really what i wanted as i could have done the same with my old cooker and saved $150.Also the diameter of the burners and flame is nearly to large to heat a 170mm dia pot the flame shoots up the side.I will have to learn to adapt the operation the stove to suit my needs.Just a couple of points for people to consider.Otherwise a good stove with good features..
