I don't own an iron by choice. But I will and do steam items. This is great for dress shirts, blazers, and whatever needs to be de wrinkled. I use it on our mattresses to refresh them twice a year. And have been using it to steam our face masks. It's also fantastic to freshen up curtains while they are still hanging. I can get the solid pleats back. I just love a great steamer. I would however make a few changes, this one doesn't stand on its own, so it needs to do that. A heat meter would Also be nice. I wouldn't want to steam something silk, then something cotton with the same setting.. if you don't have a steamer I highly recommend you get one.

PROS: - It contains attachments which have nice functions. - it is easy to use and doesn’t require much learning curve. - it only takes a short time for the water to be ready for use. CONS: - Quite heavy. In time, you’ll be tired and only get to iron a handful of garments. - since there’s no upright board that comes with it, it can be difficult. You’d need to find a flat lay area so you can iron your garments well. - it doesn’t iron certain shirts (office ones) well. You’d still need the traditional iron for these.

I am so happy with this handheld steamer. It only takes a few minutes to heat up, light weight compared to other brands. Super easy to use and it works in taking out wrinkles and it does not ruin the fabrics. I have small hands and it works for me, love that it it heats super fast- so perfect for working mom like me who does not have much time.

Great features

I replaced a larger steamer with this smaller steamer. Love the iron feature, but the water tank is very small and it is heavy compared to the larger steamer I had previously. It does a great job with wrinkles and would recommend as long as you don’t have problems lifting the steamer to steam the garment while on a hangar.

Great power and stamina

I have a non-portable steamer so I have high expectations, and I was impressed.You can probably do 2 outfits before you'd have to add water.It doesn't get as hot as my other, but it's also not 30 pounds.A steaming tip: put a clothespin on the ends of sleeves and you're less likely to burn yourself trying to get the cuffs well.

So believe me when I say that this little handheld wonder was a joy to get acquainted with! It heats up incredibly fast, and even works at somewhat of an incline, which makes it really easy to stream things that lie flat, like if you wanted to freshen up a comforter of sterilize a section of furniture, a rug or carpeting after removing a stain. And I really like the fact that it operates at a hot enough temperature on the high setting to effectively sterilize or get rid of dust mites, fleas and bedbugs.I recently took in a stray cat who had a terrible flea infestation and I really worried about the fleas taking over my carpeting and bedding, even after I managed to get them off of her. Especially so because that could easily lead to re-infestation. It was is a tricky proposition, because clearly I couldn't use any chemicals without risking the possibility of poisoning my cat. Then I found out that on the high steam setting I could eliminate every stage of development - the eggs, larvae AND mature fleas. What a relief!! I gave the room where I was keeping her until I was sure they were gone a thorough steaming and I never saw them again.I'm very grateful I was able to find a surefire solution to my problem without breaking the bank. And as an added bonus, I now can clean my dry clean only clothes myself from home. This is a wonderful little product that packs a lot of punch. Thank you, Conair!!

Not as effective as expected

I bought this mostly to steam wrinkles out of some drapes. Some of the wrinkles were pressed in pretty hard. I went over and over and over the drapes and the wrinkles decreased but were not eliminated. I finally had to take the drapes down and lay them on the bed and press them with a regular steam iron. I also used this steamer to try to steam wrinkles out of a couple fairly heavy cotton shirts that I removed quickly from the dryer. Again, this steamer helped diminish the wrinkles, but did not completely remove them. I had plenty of distilled water in the steamer and was using high heat.I used the steamer again on a different pair of drapes that were a heavier fabric that was more like real permanent press. I already use a stand Conair steamer at home and needed a portable steamer specifically for travel purposes. I was due to travel out of state for a relative's wedding and my dress was a material that would get completely wrinkled in a suitcase but is too delicate to iron (plus I absolutely hate ironing) so I decided to purchase this steamer I found online for the trip. It is also super fast in heating up to steam - it only takes about 1 minute to be ready to use. The other aspect that I was very impressed with was that it does not drip, leak, or spill at all out of the water compartment within the handle, even when laying it on its side. There is a rubber stopper that seals the water in really well. The only "con" I can think of is that the actual device is a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be. It will likely take up quite a bit of space inside a little carry-on suitcase. Other than that though, I am very pleased with the quality of this item. It will be perfect for me to travel with for business and pleasure.

What convenience compared with ironing!

I've never had a steamer before, and I'm sorry I waited this long to get one. What convenience: not having to haul out the ironing board and iron and then have to wait for the iron to cool down before putting things away. It's simply fill and steam! So far, I've just done lightly wrinkled clean clothes. Looking forward to trying it for freshening between wears.
