I WISH I could leave this a 5-Star review because it’s so close to being excellent. The problem is there is a serious design flaw with this bottle. It will randomly leak out all over your face and shirt when you’re trying to drink.There is some sort of silicone straw that’s built in and the silicone gasket around it doesn’t always seal perfectly. Despite having your mouth fully around the straw part it will still leak out. There have been days that it hasn’t leaked at all, and on others it leaks during every drink. The leaking is unpredictable but I have a theory that it has something to do with the silicone gasket shrinking when exposed to very cold liquid. The leaking is totally unacceptable and so, I have to return this bottle and leave 1-store.

This water bottle holds not only water, but also the solution to your hydration problems. It has been wonderful, I've had it for a little less than a week, and do already notice differences in energy levels, from everyday at work to even working out. I brought it yesterday to some ultimate frisbee, and used the fence hook feature = pretty neat! It also is very nice for spilling water or drops on you or your clothes, the spout is super easy to open, drink from, and even clean. The handle on the side actually helps me not only carry it, but also drink from, I just stick my hand in it, and use the handle as a strap to hold my hand when I drink from the bottle itself. Bought the bottle thinking I’d finally have a bottle that doesn’t leak every time I drink. I’m now stuck with a leaky bottle that pours water on the floor at the gym. This bottle is embarrassing in every sense of the word, for contigo and the consumer. This bottle has caused me to slip and fall on wet tile. It’s also left a pool of water in the back seat of my car. Bottle WILL open regardless of safety mechanism if it’s met with minimal force, (dropping or tossing). I will NEVER buy another contigo product after my awful experience. The bottle doesn’t even keep anything cold for longer than 5 hours. If the manufacturer sees this review, don’t write me an apology. Take the initiative to get this product off the shelves, or at least improve its quality. The issue is in the rubber elbow portion that links to the straw mechanism. Fix the seal between the lid and the straw and problem solved. Your product is wasting consumers money, as well as a prominent slipping hazard. I would rate it lower than one star if I could, DO NOT BUY THIS BOTTLE.
