I love these travel mugs. I have two of the Bryon and one of the West Loop and they do what they are intended to do. I do reviews on things the way I would hope they should be done. You see too many people taking off stars for example for an issue that's too subjective. I've had this product for over a month and it performs flawless. No leaks, perfect thermal retention. LOVE this travel mug!! I have been using it for years (at least 10). I would give it a six out of five stars EXCEPT: I hate the rubber hand grip. When I rinse it, water, gets trapped underneath it, and no matter how much I dry it, as I begin to use it,my hand still gets wet and/or water drips on me as I drink from it. The earlier versions of this mug did not have this rubber hand grip. I cannot find the mug currently sold without the hand grip which makes me very sad. I am currently searching for a replacement. I may have to leave Contigo.😞

Since there are no manufacturer-replacement seals, nor are there any replacement lids available, this company is depending on selling entire new cups just to replace damaged parts. These cups used to be sold with the round, rubber stopper colored to match the outside of the cup. After using for a while, I started to notice little mold spores growing on this part. Now they all come with black stoppers and you can no longer see whether or not there is mold present. I've always taken apart and cleaned my cups frequently and it still happened everytime.
This mug keeps my coffee warm for hours and I like that but their "seal technology" that they brag about is the worst part of mug. The plastic seal fell apart and I kept drinking in my coffee. Now it leaks very badly. I even dribble when drinking from it. To me it no longer can be used to drink from so what I do is just use it a thermos. I make enough coffee for two cups. Poor my 1st cup into a regular cup and then the 2nd into my know thermos that used to be my travel mug. So I actually love the design of the mug, very stylish! BUT IT LEAKS!!! I bought this cup before and the rubber band in the lid seemed to be lose, so thinking I got a defective cup I purchased another. Well, armed with HOT coffee, I closed the lid, shook it to make sure there were no leaks and everything seemed fine. put it in my bag and off to work. Only after noticing the trail of spilled coffee behind me did I notice my bag and EVERYTHING INSIDE WAS SOAKED WITH COFFEE.I will NOT be buying this item again. BEWARE!
I had an older model that I used daily, for years. It kept my morning coffee hot for 6-8 hours. The lid began to leak. I looked for a new one and was pleased to see Contigo still sold the exact model! So I bought one. The new one is terrible. My coffee needs to be reheated by the time I get to work (about 35-45 minutes after filling). The quality is not the same as the older model. I am extremely disappointed with my purchase.
I've been a customer of Contigo products for years. We have Byron(s) and West Loop(s). Contigo stands behind the product because of the solid construction. They keep water ice cold and coffee hot enough to enjoy for hours (no one wants a burnt lip so cool it first). I recommend their products highly. Never disappointed with their wonderful Customer Service and Warranty. A purchase I have never regretted. And I often have buyer's remorse.

Refer to the attached Thermos patent drawing to see how the height and girth of the drinking rim allows for a more natural and comfortable drinking experience. Refer to second diagram for an example of a taller skinnier rim.Alternatively the lid design could be improved by placing the pour hole at the top edge of the rim allowing the lips to seal around the hole. This is more difficult for the snapseal design.
I like how my Contigo mug keeps my coffee and tea hot. Also, I like that it doesn’t leak. However, the O-ring in the snap lid is missing which causes the mug to leak. I am hoping that you can send another O-ring or that you can tell me who sells food grade O-rings so that I can still use the mug. I hate to think that I have to throw the mug and lid away because of a missing O-ring. I have recommended these mugs to others and have purchased them as gifts. I would like to keep doing so, but that depend on whether I can replace the missing O-ring. The picture I am sending has an O-ring in the lid which is the same size as the lid with the missing O-ring. Thank you for any assistance you can give me with this matter.
