I have been using Continental Race King in the past years. My previous model was a RaceSport version, which is lighter than the Protection but has no reinforced sidewalls. I actually had a cut in the sidewall, but the inner tube did not get punctured. I could repair the sidewall with patches. Now I have chosen the Protection version because it has thicker reinforced sidewalls and it is Tubeless Ready. This year's (2018) model is somewhat lighter than the previous Protection version, and there is a minimal change in the tread pattern. Although this tyre is mostly recommended for hardpack, I use it as an allround tyre because it has great grip even in mixed conditions.

Actually bought these to put on a separate set of wheels for my mountain bike. That way I can keep up with all my buddies on their gravel bikes excellent tire and an excellent price. Shipping was fast and furious. Got them straight away no issues at all.

Fast, Light, DON'T take it on an Ultra.

I noted that these tires are lighter and softer than my previous tires (Vittoria Mezcal) on my 29er rigid MTB. I took them on an ultra race banking on the quality that Continental tires are known for. After riding on pretty rocky terrain I had a lot of punctures that I felt wouldn't have been there if I was still on the Mezcals. These tires are VERY FAST and great otherwise, but I would NOT go anyplace remote on them again because they are a bit delicate and you wouldn't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere with them the way I was.

Great Wider Gravel Tire.

Needed a wider 29er tire for my Ghost Grappler to use as a gravel tire. This one fit the bill and I really like Conti tires. Quick rolling, great grip on gravel/packed dirt. Will order again when these wear out.

Race King 29er - heavier

The Biketart site shows the weight for the Race King 26” (about 535g?) but no weight shown for the 29er. It’s a little disappointing to find this is 722g, the tyre wall says it’s E-bike and tubeless ready, so the side walls are probably stronger. Looks good construction. I would have expected ‘Race’ to go with a light tyre design.

Superb handling & grip

I purchased this a month ago to replace my specialized fast track control. I must say I haven't been disappointed. The continental race king is excellent with superb handling & grip.The delivery was very quick from Sigma sports, very pleased & recommended.
