These are a great update compared to the original high tops. Sturdier, more cushioning, and a higher quality canvas. I wear 6.5 in the originals, and the fit is no different for these. They don’t necessarily run smaller, just a little tighter around the sides of the feet. I expect that the canvas will stretch out with wear. Loving them overall!

A little tight at first, but after a few wears molds more to your foot. Taller platform than I anticipated, barely but just a little more than I was expecting- not bad. The rubber is maybe a little too shiny for my taste, the regular ones are I think more dull. Overall I like them, but I didn't see them in person so my expectations were slightly different. Looks good with cropped pants, skirts and dresses, ankle jeans, shorts, anything really.

I’ve bought many kinds of Converse all Star Chucks Taylor.Also, all my family wearing Chucks Taylor.The classics and 70's will always be my favorite! I grew up wearing Chucks.I have never had a shoe that I put on and it feels like a part of me.I have been a Converse lover, never bought anything else. They fit perfect! I would give five stars, but they run so small they are unwearable. I have to bring them to a shoe store to get the stiff canvas stretched out. I hope after I do that nothing gets damaged. So the fit is a bit of a bummer.
These black Converse are much more wearable than the white Converse. With the white Converse, you have to be careful about getting them dirty. The black Converse don't show dirt and look classic. The Converse Chuck 70 are more expensive than the regular line of Converse, but the Chuck 70 are made from better materials and the rubber sole does not squeak. I paid additional for 2 day shipping and the shoes arrived exactly on time. Great shipping by Nordstrom! As for sizing, I followed the Nordstrom sizing tip to size down half a size, which was the perfect fit.
My rating doesn't reflect the quality of the shoe, just the confusing sizing. I ordered a 7.5 (my usual size) because I have an old pair of Converse Chuck Taylor low tops in the recommended half size down (7) but they are a little short for me (I have long narrow feet). These were so big that I think I would need a 6.5(?). Converse high tops in black are so popular these days (sold out everywhere in my size). I stalked the Nordstrom site every morning and managed to get the Chuck Taylor high top ($55 cheaper version so no arch support like this one) in a size 7.5 and hope they will fit. Thank goodness for Nordstrom's easy return policy--this is why I only order shoes from Nordstrom.
It was narrower than the unisex high tops and the rubber all around was VERY shiny. Kind of weirded me out a bit. Did not like it. But I loved the parchment fabric. Wish they would have just used the regular rubber lining.
I wear a 6, or 6.5 in most sneakers. Purchased in a 6 and they fit perfectly with enough space for medium-thick socks. Color is rich and even more vibrant in person. I think these have a Slightly higher platform than regular Converse... like maybe a 1/4 an inch? Insoles are cushioned and super comfortable. Can't wait to wear these for years!!!!
I’ve always been a fan of converse! I already have the black ones and they are so comfy. I purchased the saddle color and I love the color but it’s not as soft of a pink in person as it is in the picture. They are more purplish than dusty pink. Besides this I love them. They look cute with just about everything and I’ve received many great comments about them. These do run big and I ordered a half size down. I usually wear a size 6 but in converse I’m a 5.5.
Never going back to everyday Converse. This should be entry level. Love the upgraded feel, polished trim and canvas. GREAT support (for Converse) and can feel the energy return in legs and feet, similar to platform Converse. Had to order two more pair at both daughters request directly from Converse at increased $$$$ as these SOLD OUT in black. Older daughter tried on mine, and i ordered her smaller size which her sister tried on. Then SHE wanted one in her size. They are so much nicer, i did not hesitate to order them even though she had a recent pair of “plain” black converse high tops. The fit and quality match the upgraded looks and detailing. Love the ecru stitching and sole. They exude “oomph”. We all ordered our standard Converse size. Rock on.
