Converse Chuck 70 Ox 'Red' Shoes - Size 6.5

The Converse Chuck 70 Ox “Red” is, without question, one of the most timeless shoes of all time. Derived from the version of the Chuck Taylor All Star that originally released in the 1970s, the Chuck 70 Ox features many classic styling points in its vintage appearance. The entire upper is made of durable red canvas that is built to withstand the rigors of daily use. Silver metal eyelets, cream colored cotton laces, and a cream rubber toe cap with black foxing provide additional detail to the upper. The Chuck 70 features a thick vulcanized rubber sole as a call back to the '70s-era silhouette.

Classic Look w/ Updated Comfort

I've been buying the classic Converse chuck taylor all stars for most of my life (closing in on 50 years old). I love them and consider them to be a perfect sneaker for summertime. I decided to try the Chuck 70's, and I like the better insole as its pretty comfortable. However, there is one thing missing from the classics that I wish the 70's had. The lace loop on the tongue is missing here, and it lets the tongue slide down rather than keeping it in place via the laces. If it had that one addition, they'd be the perfect upgrade from the classics. Still, the more comfortable insole is quite nice!

I love the color of the shoe and the shiny toe gives it a nice touch! It is a little too wide for my feet but pulling the laces tighter does help. It is also a little too big so I may benefit from a smaller size but would want to try it on first. This shoe would be great for those who have wider feet and there is more room. The fabric is thick and similar to the fabric of my other Chuck Taylor shoes. The sole is a little thicker but not too thick. This will be a good everyday shoe to style with jeans or short or even a dress for women when going for a casual look. It does look a little long on my foot which I don’t like. My husband loves Converse, but his wider feet always look a bit cramped in standard width, but he was reluctant to get wide. I was super excited to find these were carried in wide, and he is obsessed with this pair! Out of the box they looked huge (he’s a 12 wide), but he thought they felt true to size for Converse (which he feels typically run a bit long) and of course even more comfortable than normal for him in the wide width. The white is so classic cool and looks great with so much. Perfect summer shoe. He’s also excited to twin with our preschooler who also has white Converse. In our experience they clean up relatively well, even for white shoes. Highly recommend.

Finally a wide chuck!
16 July 2024

I love these! I am so happy they finally came out with a wide pair so I can wear them too. I’ve always loved the look of converse. When I was younger I tried jamming my wide feet into the regular ones on multiple occasions but my feet always hurt like crazy afterwards. Not anymore! In my opinion it does run a little bit long, but it is so comfortable. The only thing I would change is the sheen of the rubber. I’m not a huge fan of it being so glossy but that’s just my personal preference. Thank you for selling them in wide now!

Great look great fit one complaint
12 August 2024

These shoes fit great. They feel great on my feet. Unfortunately, the tongue slides off the top of your foot towards the outside of your foot on both feet. I have another pair of Chuck that are not the 70s they are cheaper shoe, but the tongue doesn’t move on those. that’s my only complaint. and understand I’m almost 60 years old. I wore these shoes in the 70s I miss the old kind. I probably won’t buy another pair of 70s. But I will buy the cheaper ones

Narrow Toe Box
27 August 2023

I love everything about my Classic Chuck's except the insole, which is why the Ortholite insole cushioning was one feature that made me finally decide to buy the Chuck 70 version of my fave black shoe. Unfortunately, the toe box is too narrow, especially for those of us with wide feet. The Classic Chuck provides a more uniform appearance overall and comfort across the foot. The Chuck 70 does the opposite. I'm a little disappointed and am contemplating returning the shoe. There are other major differences, but I can live with those.

Super comfortable for wearing all day!
4 September 2024

These Chuck 70s are great. The include extra cushioning and support that are exactly what I need if I'm going to be wearing them all day. They're slightly heavier than the classic chucks but the sturdiness and support add that. These are now my favorite chucks!

Surprisingly super comfortable.
16 July 2024

I have owned converses before when I was young but stopped wearing them as I got older because I thought they did not have enough arch support for my aging feet. Surprisingly, these new ones with the wider thickness offer so much arch support that they are comfortable to wear daily. I highly recommend people try these versions. Not only are they fashionable but I look and feel young again. Highly recommend for all ages.

Vintage Classic
16 August 2024

The Chuck 70 wide comes with a vintage look to it but has the same classic feel the original Chuck converse has. The shuttle cream shade of the insole makes the converse chuck look broken in but the white upper makes it look new and stand out even further. The subtle shade of cream also allows you to wear them with a wider range of colors than a regular all white pair. Overall the vintage look on the Chuck Wide 70 looks incredible and will get you a ton of compliments.

Vintage best for narrow feet...
28 September 2023

Usually I never have sizing issues with my Cons. When it says, "runs a little large" that usually just means my wide feet are comfy. These are my first "Vintage Chucks" and hoodaddy, they are NARROW. Length is standard, but you better have very thin feet... The eyelets dig into my toe bend and the side rubber squishes my foot over the sides to look like a muffintop...Unfortunately, my confidence that my Cons always fit means I missed my return window, so I'm stuck trying to figure out how to make them look good and be comfortable enough to wear in hopes the fabric softens up to be wearable. The color is perfect for fall (tawny owl/egret) so I was very excited to start breaking in a new pair-- especially since my last pair bit the dust last weekend...Alas, I ... MoreUsually I never have sizing issues with my Cons.
