I recently recieved the chuck 70 AT-CX in the earth tone colorway. This is not my 1st pair of the chuck Taylor 70 AT-CX. I’m actually a fan of the shoe to get a few extra inches in height, & let’s be honest, who couldn’t use a few extra inches, am I right? The color way is very neutral & very easy to wear with almost any wardrobe. The thick sole of the shoe puts me over 6 ft for the 1st time in my life, which is a huge confidence booster. The chuck is versitile enough to wear out on a walk or classy enough for a night out on the town which is a huge advantage over most other athletic shoes of the same type. The materials used are comfortable & lightweight while offering breathability & the stretch I look for in a shoe. I have the Chuck 70 AT-CX Earth Tones in Deep Sleep/Tidepool Grey. These are not your dad's Chucks - they are funkier than the typical Chucks with their extra thick sole. These fit like all my other Chucks and are true to size with the added bonus of extra cushioning. The thick sole isn't just for looks and it makes these really easy for all-day wear and walking around town. They were instantly comfortable and I know like with all my other Chucks, they will only get more comfortable as I wear them. The deep sleep color is a soft blue that will pair with just about anything. The downside is these are heavy and the weight is mostly in the front of the shoe. It was a bit surprising when I first put them on but after walking around for awhile, I didn't notice the weight.

Review draftThese shoes are so comfortable! Something I can rarely say because of my wide feet. Usually when extra wide sizes are not available I have to size up and the result is a pair of shoes that are wide enough, but much too long. The design fits my feet dang near perfectly and the traction is superb.During my initial try-on I realized ankle-socks are a no-go with these. The boning of the heel is a bit uncomfortable, but with higher socks it was unnoticeable - something I should have expected with high tops.I was reminded after a few hours of wear that the breathability of canvas isn’t elite. I don’t anticipate this will be much of an issue for the occasions I’m wearing these, but worth mentioning.Overall, the fit is amazing, the design is quality, and ... MoreReview draftThese shoes are so comfortable! I really like these 70 AT CX shoes. They are edgy looking but not extra edgy like my Converse Run Star Motions (RSM) which I love. I wear a 9 in women's shoes, got a 7.5 mens in the RSM that fit great with a half inch to spare, but in these 70 AT CX's they fit perfect, toes all the way to the tip, no cramping toes, so I kept those and will wear with a thinner sock, BUT I got another color in a men's size 8 (9.5 womens) for the first time ever due to how this shoe is made at the toe box. My recommendation is to go up a half size if you like a little room and plan on wearing an average sock, not a thin sock. RSM is a cushier, more comfortable shoe. This one is comfy though
I got these earth tone converse last month. So far, I'm a fan. They look a bit like my climbing shoes and don't really look like your classic converse. It's winter, and with long pants on, you can't see that they are high tops and I've actually worn them to work a few times. My office is business casual, but not really a sneaker place and they blend right in. I like that they are versatile in that way, and that I can dress them up or down pretty easily. The last time I wore converse was about 20 years ago, and they've come a long way. I remember the ones I had as a kid had a hard/stiff sole but these are super cushioned and easy on my (now much older) knees. My feet are a little on the wide side, and they fit me well. They feel good, and they look good. Not much ... MoreI got these earth tone converse last month. So far, I'm a fan. I have mixed feeling about this shoe. It's a unique look and you'll either love that or hate it. I did like it though. I loved the color scheme, I thought it was really sharp, But it was a bit of an odd fit. Like a lot of high top converse, I think they require some break in. But once you do that it will be a lot more comfortable, particularly around the heel. But my issue is the bottom is a chunky rubber. A great winter/wet weather material. The remainder of the shoe is the standard canvas. So it's not really water proof or great in wet weather. Another thing I didn't love is the shoe is tough to get on and off. You really have to unlace it quite a bit. I think this shoe is more for someone who just wants the look or style. I don't think it's super functional. I love the look of old school Converse, but in the past they didn’t have much padding for the feet. These ones have a thick sole with plenty of cushioning. At work I stand and walk for about 13 hours of the day, and I wore these all day without any problems. My staff, friends, and family all thought they were awesome looking. The toe box has plenty of room for wiggling your toes. I also like the toe guard (which feels like there might be a piece of stiff plastic in) that protects your toes if you bang them against anything. These shoes are street stying and (kind of) trail ready. I wouldn’t take these on a rough trail because the sides aren’t stiff enough for ankle support. And because they are canvas they are breathable (or chilly in cold weather.)The only thing ... MoreI love the look of old school Converse, but in the past they didn’t have much padding for the feet. Very difficult to remove mud or other debris from the bottom of the shoe. Even with that, I love them.
I love these shoes! I wore them for a full day at Disney World and I felt super trendy and my feet didn’t hurt in them, that’s rare! They do run a little big (should have gotten a half size smaller then I normally do). Love the style and the trendiness of the shoe. You definitely need to wear high socks with the shoe otherwise it would hurt. Biggest issue I had with the shoe is the time it takes to put on. The tongue of the shoe is only connected at the bottom and not on the sides. So when you go to put the shoe on it will fold up and be uncomfortable on the top of your foot. You have to maneuver the tongue for a while in order for it to lay right. But when you do there is no issues. Would definitely recommend to anyone despite the few issues I have with them.
I was excited to try these shoes, and they have met my expectations! I love converse, and have worn the classic pairs over the years, and these are perfect for versatility. The fit is good, and they are very comfortable, one of the comfiest shoes I own now. They were true to size so I would buy what you regularly wear.I find them stylish and the muted tones make them great for basic everyday outfits, they also feel sturdy and well made. I’ve mostly wear them when I’m outdoors. They are perfect for small hikes and walks.Overall, I am pleased with these shoes and highly recommend them for anyone looking for a versatile shoe! I have been really happy with the quality of these shoes and they will be easily one of my go-to shoes in the future for a range of activities.
As a casual Converse fan, I was intrigued by this earthier, outdoorsy extension of the classic Converse style. I’ve been impressed by these shoes from day 1… I put them to the test on a snowy/slushy morning thinking I’d change into “work shoes” once I made it into the office. They did great in the elements and, to my surprise, garnered a couple of compliments on my way to my desk. They matched up nicely enough with the business casual khakis I was wearing that I was able to just wear them all day… they’ve quickly become my go to shoes for less formal work days. They’ve also held up very well in other settings as I’ve chased my toddler around on hikes and through grocery stores.
